My daughter started seeing Damion in December after her mock result was a 2-. She’s just got her gcse results and achieved a 4! Damion is very patient especially when my daughter lacked confidence in maths, she said he explained things in a way she understood. Damion arrives very promptly with all the equipment they need in individual boxes numbered for each student. Damion regularly printed off past exam papers as ‘homework’ and went through her red/amber/greens with her to make sure she stayed on track. Really recommend Sum Maths!

Damian is a great tutor. He knows his stuff plus he made the Maths lessons engaging for my son who really does not like Maths! My son Floyd made great progress and was even sad when he had his last lesson! Thanks Damian.

What a wonderful tutor! Full of enthusiasm and energy. He is a natural and passionate teacher explaining complex mathematical formula in a simple language that was set just right for my child. He was incredibly knowledgeable and up to date with the curriculum and content of different exam boards. He would always give 100% in each and every session. Leaving homework and tailoring each session to the students requirements. We had sessions once a fortnight to facilitate our budget which Damian was more than happy to accommodate. Nothing was ever too much trouble. An incredible tutor who I would always feel comfortable with in our home!

Damian has been an invaluable part of my son’s EOTAS education for the past 4 years and at times I don’t know what we would have done without him. He has taken my son from not being engaged at all to actively enjoying lessons. He has taken time to understand him and how to get the best from him. We have now completed GCSEs and there was a time I didn’t think that would ever happen. I don’t hesitate in recommending Damian as a tutor. You would be lucky to have him.

Marta has been really beneficial to my son in the past 3 years, we started with Marta when my son was in Year 9, he is now in the midst of his GCSE's and asking me to book extras lessons. He has improved so much that he is now doing the higher level Maths paper. Marta is incredible she is very patience, happy to go over things several time and provide extra lessons. We first came across Marta/Somerset Private Tutor when my Son was in Year 9 and struggling to access mainstream education due to Autism/Anxiety/School related Anxiety etc. We started off using Marta to help support my Son with missed lessons. Two and a half years later and my son has just completed GCSEs having been homeschooled for the last two years. Marta has educated him in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Without Marta's expert help we would not have got there. The level of service is superb and Marta was able to make adaptations to support my Son's individual requirements. The level of communication has been brilliant. The service is flexible to accommodate the individual child. We also had the added advantage that my Son's education was not disrupted during the Covid lockdowns as on-line lessons continued as normal. I am so pleased with how this has turned out for my son.

Can’t recommend Marta highly enough! She was extremely helpful and understanding when our daughter needed to come out of school at the end of year 10 due to physical and emotional difficulties in attending school. She has worked hard with our daughter to find any gaps and weaknesses in her knowledge of the subjects (all 3 sciences and maths), and has built her confidence in her abilities. She is very kind, friendly, supportive and engaging both online and in her office.

Marta is a truly wonderful tutor for children of all abilities. My son is profoundly dyslexic and was struggling with numeracy. Marta has helped him to realise that maths can be fun and numbers are nothing to be afraid of. She has a unique way of teaching to a child's specific needs which enables them to engage and enjoy the subject. With her wealth of knowledge of the education system she has been a great support in helping us get our son the help he so badly needs.

Sophie is an amazing tutor I only wish I had found her sooner! The communication she makes with me regarding my sons progress has been so consistent and helpful. She really goes the extra mile to cater for him and above all he has the best time!! He can’t wait to go each week! From the moment we first met Sophie we knew instantly we found the right tutor. Approachable. Kind. Understanding. My daughter couldnt stop saying how wonderful she was. Ive never seen her so excited to learn but i think thats because Sophie treats every child as an individual and meets their needs. Giving them the confidence to then thrive. I wish all teachers were like Sophie within schools because children would feel comfortable and happy and want to learn. Sophie is always on hand to help or offer advice outside of our sessions too. She supported my daughter, who has moderate dyslexia, through her English GCSE’s in year 11, and as a result of her highly personalised approach, my daughter went up 4 grades. I had never heard of 11 plus before speaking to a very friendly gentleman named Peter. My son gets extremely anxious around change and wanted to sit the 11 plus but was late to the party. He ended up doing the mock exams and intense workshops during the summer. He sat the 11 plus and achieved a high enough score to apply for both schools. Now I can honestly say he would not have even completed the exam had it not been for Pete and Franny. They didn’t just put me at ease but more importantly my son felt comfortable and at ease. I thought it was going to be hard to get him to go and learn in the summer but he enjoyed it and the way it was all taught. Nicola is an excellent tutor and we highly recommend. She successfully tutored our son to pass the 11+ exam. Our son enjoyed her sessions and looked forward to attending each week. Nicola at Forest 1st Tutoring managed to work wonders in getting our daughter up to speed in time for the 11+ exam. We left it very late in the day to start preparing and Nicola agreed to tutor across the summer term and summer holidays - primarily using group work with additional one-on-one sessions on top. The transformation in our daughter’s confidence and attainment was amazing. I can’t recommend Matt more highly. We signed up for maths tutoring with Matt fairly late in the year, with only about 6 weeks until the exams were to begin; mainly because our son was really struggling with confidence about his maths. The pressure to pass was making revision seem totally overwhelming. Matt was such a fantastic tutor. Not only did he help to make sense of the areas of maths which were a struggle, but he also subtly coached our son to have a positive mindset. What can i say, I feel we have found the perfect tutor. Maths GCSE Chess Physics We had been struggling with our year 6 son for a couple of years as he has a natural aptitude for mathematics and was not getting any challenge from school and disengaging. After talking with numerous tutors i found Tim and had the most positive engaging conversation and his passion was unbelievable. The relationship our Son and Tim have developed is truly amazing, so much so that we have now increased lessons to include chess and Physics.......If Tim taught sewing i am sure Oscar would engage 100% he is just that kind of guy that make everything interesting. Our son is now looking to take his Maths GCSE a few years early and that is all down to Tim. he is now engaged, passionate and looks forward to every lesson. Communication is fantastic, we have regular conversations and a lot of discussions about direction and progress. We would highly recommend Tim and his team of fantastic teachers. We discovered that our 15 year old son was well behind in his Maths and Science six months before his GCSE exams. He was also going through a difficult period in school at the time. Tim, Sonja and Mustapha were very positive and encouraging and patient with him. Tim has made a huge difference in my daughter's A-Levels maths. She was really struggling to understand the jump from GCSE to A-Levels maths. Her teachers at school went through the lessons very quickly. Tim explained all the topics my daughter found difficult. As a result she went from a B to A☆. This enhanced her confidence. Tim has really helped my daughter with her math confidence. She was completely blocked when it came to maths.
