Gemma has been working with our 10YO ahead of her 11 plus. Our daughter struggles with holding her attention on tasks and is a little dyspraxic. This detracts from her innate intelligence when learning in a traditional sense. Gemma has devised innovative, interesting and often novel ways to engage her in learning the more difficult subject areas, and irrespective of outcome at the 11+ I'm confident that we chose the best way to maximize her potential.

Jane tutored my Daughters when they needed extra support in Maths/English and 11+ tutoring, they loved visiting her each week and enjoyed the varied sessions. Jane took the time to discover their individual areas for improvement and also worked on the essential exam technique. I have no hesitation in recommending Jane to others.

Jane has tutored 2 of my children for the 11+ grammar school exams and I cannot recommend her highly enough. We signed up for maths tutoring with Matt fairly late in the year, with only about 6 weeks until the exams were to begin; mainly because our son was really struggling with confidence about his maths. The pressure to pass was making revision seem totally overwhelming. Matt was such a fantastic tutor. The 11 plus mocks are great preparation and provide detailed feedback which allows you to focus on your child's weak areas. The 11 plus intensive coaching sessions are great as they can drill down into trickier areas and provide further helpful tips. All of these sessions, together with the work you do at home will help your child to achieve the best score they can. I cannot recommend them enough!

I must say that booking mock tests and study sessions with Kingsbury education to help my daughter pass the 11+ was one of the best investments I’ve ever made. Not only she got a very solid passing grade but she also got 100% on the English test, which is amazing, especially considering she is not a native English speaker. Hi my name is Alannah and I've just passed the 11+ exam for BSG. Pete and Franny made the lessons fun and interesting, always telling stories to help with our understanding. I had no nerves on the day and even enjoyed the exam (sort of!).

My 16 year old had missed 6 months of year 10 and was struggling in the run up to his GCSE's, with no extra support available. We engaged Alison (Maths) and Tracy (English Literature) at a very late stage for online tutoring, following a recommendation by a friend. They were both excellent and my son engaged really well with his weekly sessions. He was able to catch up on topics that he had missed and his confidence increased no end. I contacted Anne around 6 months before the GCSE exams. Anne gladly accommodated my twin daughters together in one session and nearer to exam time, at our request, individually. Marta tutors me in maths and science at GCSE level. I have M.E/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and have been ill for over 3 years, this means I am unable to access mainstream education or medical tuition. Marta is brilliant at adapting to my changing health, she is able to teach her lessons in a way that I am able to remember the information. She has many techniques to help me achieve this, for example using coloured pens. She never gets exasperated even when I ask the same question many times, and will continue to explain it until I understand and am able to retain the information. Also she is very understanding even if I can’t always manage the homework due to my poor health. I thoroughly enjoy my sessions and learn a lot. I can’t recommend Marta enough, and she is especially brilliant if you have any extra needs.

Marta has been really beneficial to my son in the past 3 years, we started with Marta when my son was in Year 9, he is now in the midst of his GCSE's and asking me to book extras lessons. She was extremely helpful and understanding when our daughter needed to come out of school at the end of year 10 due to physical and emotional difficulties in attending school. We first came across Marta/Somerset Private Tutor when my Son was in Year 9 and struggling to access mainstream education due to Autism/Anxiety/School related Anxiety etc. We started off using Marta to help support my Son with missed lessons. Two and a half years later and my son has just completed GCSEs having been homeschooled for the last two years. Marta has educated him in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Without Marta's expert help we would not have got there. The level of service is superb and Marta was able to make adaptations to support my Son's individual requirements. The level of communication has been brilliant. The service is flexible to accommodate the individual child. We also had the added advantage that my Son's education was not disrupted during the Covid lockdowns as on-line lessons continued as normal. I am so pleased with how this has turned out for my son.
