I am so grateful that we found Damian to help my son get through his maths GCSE. Damian is non-judgemental and empathetic to the needs of his students. He boosted my son's confidence and my son actually looked forward to his lessons with Damian. Damian is very professional, always available to help and went above and beyond the call of duty. I felt totally confident that with his help my son would pass his GCSE. He meets the child where they are, and is chatty and supportive. Definitely the best tutor we have ever met. His knowledge of his subject is second to none, and he had all the tools he needed to push my son on to obtain the grades he needed to pass.

Damian has been an invaluable part of my son’s EOTAS education for the past 4 years and at times I don’t know what we would have done without him. My daughter started seeing Damion in December after her mock result was a 2-. She’s just got her gcse results and achieved a 4! Damion is very patient especially when my daughter lacked confidence in maths, she said he explained things in a way she understood. Damion arrives very promptly with all the equipment they need in individual boxes numbered for each student. Damion regularly printed off past exam papers as ‘homework’ and went through her red/amber/greens with her to make sure she stayed on track. Really recommend Sum Maths!

What a wonderful tutor! Full of enthusiasm and energy. He is a natural and passionate teacher explaining complex mathematical formula in a simple language that was set just right for my child. He was incredibly knowledgeable and up to date with the curriculum and content of different exam boards. He would always give 100% in each and every session. Leaving homework and tailoring each session to the students requirements. We had sessions once a fortnight to facilitate our budget which Damian was more than happy to accommodate. Nothing was ever too much trouble. An incredible tutor who I would always feel comfortable with in our home!

I have been having lessons with Steve every fortnight for 2 years. I am making great progress with both acoustic and electric guitar, particularly trying to make headway with blues. His sessions are really enjoyable. He pushes me, but also encourages me. We usually finish with some improvising, which is fun! Looking forward to next week.

My son has been taught by Steve for a couple of years now and has received excellent guidance both in music and technique. Steve is such a fantastic guitar instructor, he’s so knowledgeable and patient - I really need that as at 70, I don’t learn so quickly any more. I got my first guitar very many years ago, and have only been able to play the same few chords, that I learnt when I started back then, without improvement, until I started with Steve about six months ago. My guitar playing now is even amazing me! From watching groups and not understanding how they achieved such skilled performances, I’m now playing along with them (at home). I am retired and two years ago I decided to try to learn to play the accoustic guitar. Steve was recommended to me for guitar lessons and has been an excellent teacher. He naturally adapts his teaching methods and style to best fit his student and every lesson is educational, challenging and most importantly, very enjoyable. Jane has been tutoring my son and helping him with his maths and he has already made great progress in his learning in a short time. Jane has tutored 2 of my children for the 11+ grammar school exams and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Both of my children lacked confidence in their ability and Jane made the lessons fun and something they both looked forward to. Lee was recommended to us via a friend and what a recommendation! I had never heard of 11 plus before speaking to a very friendly gentleman named Peter. My son gets extremely anxious around change and wanted to sit the 11 plus but was late to the party. He ended up doing the mock exams and intense workshops during the summer. He sat the 11 plus and achieved a high enough score to apply for both schools. Now I can honestly say he would not have even completed the exam had it not been for Pete and Franny. They didn’t just put me at ease but more importantly my son felt comfortable and at ease. I thought it was going to be hard to get him to go and learn in the summer but he enjoyed it and the way it was all taught. Cate is an excellent teacher for adults: patient, unpatronising, lively and witty. I have been having Spanish lessons with her for a few months and have made remarkable progress considering I started from scratch. The material she provides and way we are progressing is just right for an adult learner who comes at the learning in fits and bursts. As well as being erudite and a born linguist, Cate has a talent for meeting your needs with understanding and teaching pragmatic day-to-day constructions rather than school-book language. From the moment we first met Sophie we knew instantly we found the right tutor. Approachable. Kind. Understanding. My daughter couldnt stop saying how wonderful she was. Ive never seen her so excited to learn but i think thats because Sophie treats every child as an individual and meets their needs. Giving them the confidence to then thrive.
