I live in France, but i'm moving to the UK. So, I swapped my French car for a UK car with a guy in Lyon. However, the MOT ran out in March, so in April I decided to drive to the UK to get an MOT (using the shortest route of course - that was 2361km round trip!). My ferry was massively delayed at Calais, so I called and explained. No problem at all, bumped it on a few hours to a spot later in the afternoon. The added complication was my battery went flat on the ferry, because the alarm went nuts due to the extremely choppy sea. The battery probably wasn't good as the car had been sitting in a field doing nothing for 6+ months. Luckily the Irish Ferries guys got me started again with their booster thingy. But....I did say to Jonno at Coombe Valley...."That's my car there, if I turn the engine off, it may never start again....is that a problem?". Jonno said "Not a problem, we can get it started again, but it'll be fine". Indeed it was fine, MOT passed, so I could tax it right away. This day was actually my (rather significant) birthday, although not the usual thing one does to celebrate, it felt amazing. I did go on to Brighton later on and had a superb night out with a close friend, so I'm not a total saddo. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure there are no ANPR cameras between the ferry port and Coombe Valley MOT. So if you have been out of the UK for a while and need get your motor legal ASAP, this is your best route.

Very busy garage but still manage to go the extra mile and give excellent customer service. I went in for air con regas, they were mad busy and they found the time to inflate my tyres too! Highly recommend

We took 1 motorhome 1 skoda fabia for MOT services.. The staff are excellent the staff give full instructions on what to expect. They advise on any problems . The mechanics are 100% knowledgeable on every vehicle they deal with. They certainly go above and beyond with great information incredible staff and there's even a cafe 50m away if you want to wait . Our vehicles took afew hours so we went home . You do have the option of staying put and a bacon butty with a brew. This garage AT garage Dover. can't fault a single thing. We Have used Matt since moving to Aylesford 3 years ago, he’s always honest which is the biggest thing for me when it comes to a mechanic. He’s very reasonable in price and has on a couple of occasions fitted me in at short notice with my van which is really helpful as a self employed sole trader. More expensive than I usually pay for an MOT but they picked up a leaking fuel pipe that a larger company missed just 3 weeks prior. We’d had our car fail an initial mot on tyres and had a nightmare getting the right tyres in time. Our usual big company then were booked up for weeks so decided to try this company. Worth the extra for the better job.

I have a Mercedes SL 5.5, in the past I’ve dealt with Lookers in Ashford unfortunately they don’t know their arse from their elbow, example I have a smart car and the service manager told me that the smart car has four cylinders where an actual fact it has three and he said it has four sparking plugs well it has six that’s just a small example anyway, I wanted a Mercedes garage but not only took pride in its work but wouldn’t cost me a fortune either. I looked at the Internet and saw that M B Z Autos had favourable write ups. The suspension on the SL is hydroelastic very similar to citron and Rolls-Royce the pump that works The suspension died and these pumps aren’t cheap. It also needed an electronic level indicator apart from a few other minor details. The car went in before Christmas and I have only just got it back. The car was stored for me as a pump had to be ordered from Germany Dave at MBZ looked after my car very well And fitted a new pump and level indicator. His service is impeccable even though the price was a little high because the pump itself cost over £700 I’d like to thank Dave for his courtesy and honesty keep it up Dave there’s only a few of you around. First time I've used MBZ Autos. David saved me £700 from my main dealer quote to fix an exhaust which was flapping about in the wind. Super job.
