Absolutely incredible. All I can say is this garage in Wigan is amazing and extremely honest. So glad I read the reviews. We passed them one of our customers cars who broke down in a volvo c70 just after new years day...and was given 13th Jan 2025 for an inspection every garage was booked or closed , I was worried as we are not from wigan which garage to send the customers car too ...Athertons was recommended to us ..and Athertons gave me details of a reliable recovery chap the car was collected on same day for a reasonable amount and it was delivered to John Athertons garage , they took time to look at it on same day and repaired it ...the lady at reception was so professional made me feel at ease and John asked me what was wrong with the car and sounded very honest and sincere. What could have ended a drama ended in a great result..fact they looked at it on the same day was appreciated. Very reasonable on charges. This place literally saved me yesterday (08/03/24) I had a puncture and it's my daughter's birthday outing today. It was 4pm and I rang them and paul on reception told me not to worry they would get me sorted! They were busy but still managed to get me sorted. Within one hour of phoning the garage I was on my way home with a repaired tyre! Fully recommend this place! Friendly and go the extra mile. Simon and The Guys have diagnosed my car's issues and swiftly got it booked in. A couple of other problems were discovered whilst taking the car apart so I managed to get these repaired also. The car has never run or sounded as good. Everything done for a very reasonable cost. This is NOT one of those garages that employ cowboys and charge a fortune. Good honest reliable service and very friendly. What more can you ask for!

Sent my corsa in with an engine problem. Within 10 minutes of inspection i got a detailed phone call about the issue and upon pickup of the car. I had a detailed walk round and some good honest advice. Thanks guy's. See you again soon.

Absolutely sterling service. I had called in due to a low oil warning on the vehicle and an inability to access under the bonnet due to a faulty release mechanism. I was in a dire rush as I had to make a journey to London to that weekend. Although they were too busy to be able to repair the fault in such a short timeframe, they managed to access the bonnet and replenish the low oils as a quick fix so I could complete my journey and book in a proper repair at a later date. It was an absolute lifesaver of a resolution. It’s such a rarity to encounter honest and professional tradesmen in this industry and I will definitely be exclusively using this company as my go-to for all my automotive needs in the future. I genuinely cannot recommend them enough.

The receptionist at Acton Garage went above and beyond to help me out when I needed an M8 drill bit to fix my boot latch. I couldn't pop out to grab the M8 drill bit due to my crazy NHS rota at WWL Trust, but the receptionist at Acton Garage came to the rescue! They found the bit and let me use it without any charge. Exceptional service from Acton Garage, especially that receptionist who truly understands the value of helping others in need.

Got recommened for my Daughter who took her car to sam for some work on her bumper cannot fault the body work sam did he even fixed a fault the previous body shop who fixed it the first time around had done ,a bit shoddy hence not taking it back there . Anymore accidents with any of our family cars 4 in total then we shall book in with sam to sort out for us .Also the price was good aswell and was booked in and returned in the time scale given so its 5***** from us.cheers sam 👍

Recently had my car MOT'D and serviced by this garage. I couldn't fault them at all. I had a small fault happen yesterday, and today, with no appointment, they put it through some checks for me. The owner (sorry didn't take your name), explained all about it to me and didn't even charge. Being a woman, you often feel like you could be 'ripped off,' as they say but these men are brilliant and I'll have no hesitancy to use them long term. Highly recommended.

Excellent service from these guys yesterday. Called in to see if they could repair a puncture on my van that I had just picked up around the corner. You could hear the air hissing out of the tyre. They repaired it straight away despite already being busy with other vehicle repairs. They had me back on the road in less than 30 minutes. I would 100% recommend this garage. Polite, friendly & professional. What more could you ask for?

Had a few minor issues on my car fixed today. The service was very thorough. I took my car in at 9am this morning and it was ready by 11am. So pleased with the service- Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

It's very rare you can find a garage where the mechanics are friendly, that won't rob you blind and are honest! Well we have found one... Claxtons! Hubby took the car in for MOT last week, were a few things wrong so took it back yesterday, repaired, sorted and re tested, plus cost less than we were estimated!
