Phoned Neil and explained that we had tried to change our light/sockets,and had hit a problem with a three way switch over three levels in our home. Lucky for us he was local,he came around and looked at the job and arranged a day to come and sort the issues out. On time, respectful of property,all issues sorted and switches/sockets all changed and working. Would recommend

Neil has been absolutely brilliant to deal with. Very reliable, polite and courteous. A genuinely nice tradesperson! All of his work has been completed to the highest of standards. He is very particular, and knows his stuff! I highly recommend him!

Neil fitted an outside coach light and and a side security light and did an excellent job. He wired the security light through an indoor socket and did a very neat job, both inside and outside. Cleaned up all the waste instead of leaving it for me to do like other contractors do. A couple of days later i asked Neil if he could adjust the sensors for me and he was there ASAP. Would definitely recommend him.

I can honestly say that Neil has been amazing. From first contact to completion of every job (and there has been a few and more to be booked!) It is rare to find someone that you can trust implicitly to be in your home, be meticulous in his work and be completely honest and upfront regarding cost and realistic expectations in what you would like versus what is achievable. I have found in Neil an irreplaceable handyman that is not only a nice guy, he is professional, hard working and nothing is too much trouble.

Great shop to live near. I have bought many things off them over the years and it was always my grandad's go-to place for odds and ends. They will help you find what you're looking for if you want, so you're in and out pretty quick every time, and they cut timber to the size you need if you ask them. If you take in a list of things you're after, they'll walk you round the shop and show you the selection they have for each item and discuss which option will be the best for the job you're working on. Definitely worth checking in here if you're nearby to see what you can get cheaper than B&Q. I'm closer to this place anyway and can go to the nursery just up the road in Bickershaw for garden stuff so I've stopped bothering with B&Q in recent years.

DIY is a very serious business to me and to be honest I knew little or nothing about repairing or replacing anything beyond the very basics,but now thanks to the fantasticly informative and "novice" friendly service at the Handyman's Stores I have gained many new skills in the plumbing and general household repairs there is an endless amount of tools and equipment and supplies available, so a huge thank you to all the guys in the shop and long may you remain the Number One DIY store in Wigan Lancashire.

Went there today to price up internal doors. The ones we wanted were only £1 more than B and Q but the door furniture we chose was ,£5 per set cheaper. All in all we saved about £10 and supported a local shop. They've offered delivery for free as we spent quite a bit. The guys there were extremely helpful. Something you don't always get from big stores. Surprisingly well stocked shop and able to order if not in. Glad we went there before buying elsewhere.

Ryan has previously done work for my grandma, which has always been to the highest standard so when I recently moved house I knew the person to contact. Ryan has fitted spot lights in my kitchen and bathroom, as well as correcting many poorly carried out DIY attempts. All work was carried out at the highest standard and nothing was too much trouble. I needed an awkward light fitting installing. Ryan suggested moving it to look better, a little extra work but looks much better. Also made safe some dodgy wiring in the loft (previous owners) for a nominal fee. All round professional service and an excellent finish!

Where to start! This guy is just all round wonderful! Friendly, professional and very skilled! He did everything he was required to do and more! Dean well deserves his five stars. He worked very hard this morning putting up shelves, fitting window catches and towel rails etc in bathroom and loo. He took a great deal of care over every little job and offered good advice where appropriate. He has a friendly demeanour and as an older woman alone, I felt safe having him in the house. And his charges are very reasonable and good value for money. I'm more than happy to recommend him and no doubt will be calling on him again.

In times when a lot of tradespeople let you down , this company agreed a date and have kept to it and not only that kept me informed about arrival time the day before and again 1/2 hr before arrival. The guys have stepped up to it as soon as they arrived and are currently in the middle of it. I would say it’s a medium size job- clearance of front and back garden and overgrowth on drive way.
