Absolutely incredible. All I can say is this garage in Wigan is amazing and extremely honest. So glad I read the reviews. We passed them one of our customers cars who broke down in a volvo c70 just after new years day...and was given 13th Jan 2025 for an inspection every garage was booked or closed , I was worried as we are not from wigan which garage to send the customers car too ...Athertons was recommended to us ..and Athertons gave me details of a reliable recovery chap the car was collected on same day for a reasonable amount and it was delivered to John Athertons garage , they took time to look at it on same day and repaired it ...the lady at reception was so professional made me feel at ease and John asked me what was wrong with the car and sounded very honest and sincere. What could have ended a drama ended in a great result..fact they looked at it on the same day was appreciated. Very reasonable on charges. I've used Jay-mech garage a while and they have never let me down. Car has been in a few times in the past 3 months with different suspension/steering noises. Jay-mech were able to diagnose and repair the issues. Reasonably priced and also provide you with information on repairs.

Amazing service, around 1pm as my brakes had been worked on by another garage and I had lost my brake pedal twice since the work! They managed to squeeze me in that day and had the car back to me and running perfect by the end of the day! Incredible customer service and so helpful!

Great Service, needed glow plugs changing very early on my Qashqai, MJP where nearly half the price of Nissan, booked in early as I needed the car that day and they sorted it for me in a few hours. Nice clean and tidy workshop, happy to use them again for future work, thanks

Was left stranded in Wigan when my car had some issues. Called Paul as I needed to get back to Glasgow. He immediately looked at my car and diagnosed it. Unfortunately I did not have the time to stay a few days however managed to drive the car back to Glasgow after the warning lights were cleared and Paul had a look at it. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended garage , honest & fair priced , booked my van in for the Mot at 3.30 pm , failed on a couple of things , parts ordered & fitted same day and on my way home at 4.45 pm can't get better than that . Great service & nothing to much trouble .

Still the only garage I trust, even after I moved out of the area. I'd rather do a 20 mile journey then use another garage. John and the team are always very open about what needs to be done and even offer alternative solutions to their customers, even if it means costing them a sale. They've taken care of everyone of my vehicles for over 10 years now and I'm very happy with the level of service. Fantastic team.

The staff here are really friendly and approachable. I’m not from the area, but work as a community nurse there. My car kept showing reduced engine power. They fixed the problem, pumped my tyres and even sort out some electrical issues on the day. Perfect service, didn’t cost me much and I would definitely recommend this mechanic for car issue 🙂

Excellent Service as usual, I’ve booked the van in for a clutch today having my mot last week. Very genuine company and definitely do a great job They also give sound advice which is respected by many. Very reasonable prices, in July/August I will be going back for a full service 👌 The week before I went to have the mot done I took the owners dog for a “little” walk Along the canal into and around Haigh Hall and back to the garage by the canal. They were about to send a search party out for us though we were just having a good time 😂

Today is the 1st time I've used this garage but it certainly won't be the last. They have been absolutely amazing.
