Completely brilliant! Home Gurr’own catered our wedding at the Oak Barn in May - they were absolutely amazing and made our dream day become a reality. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

The food that Nicci and her team create is simply delicious. They bring their concept of locally grown, seasonal foods with family sharing style mains and then give all the flexibility to make it personal to you - tailoring to favourite foods or parts of the world you might love. We really enjoyed our chats with Nicci sharing ideas and agreeing on a menu that was unique to us. We were delighted with the result and so many of our friends and family commented on how delicious, fresh and fun the food was.

At the oak barn the catering team also run the day and Sophie was incredible in both the lead up, making sure we were all prepared, and on the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that we didn’t have a thing to worry about!

The service from the whole team was equally brilliant - those with dietary requirements were carefully looked after and guests were never left with an empty glass!

We must give a special shout out to the desert and cocktail room of dreams that Nicci and Sophie created - a great example of them going the extra mile to make an idea a reality. On one of our early calls we mentioned “standing deserts”. Sophie took this initial idea and ran with it to make the most spectacular set up of delicious cocktails and deserts, including make you own sundaes, brownies and Italian trifle. And to top it off, even made a top hat and veil for our Colon and Connie caterpillar cakes!

Home Gurr'own were the caterers for our wedding, and words cannot begin to express how fantastic they were. They were extremely professional and we felt in incredibly safe hands from start to finish. They went above and beyond our expectations in every single way, making sure everything was planned for and listening to all of our needs, nothing was too much trouble. Not only did they cater for our wedding but they made sure the whole day ran smoothly. Their enthusiasm and excitement for our wedding was so lovely, it really made the whole process so much fun. The food was absolutely delicious as well, all of our guests kept commenting on how much they loved it, and there was a lot of it! I can't recommend Home Gurr'own enough. It was smooth sailing from start to finish.

Words cannot begin to express how fundamental Home Gurr’own were in making our wedding day so magical.

From the very beginning Nicci was amazing in helping us outline how the catering would look and feel on our day. From the very beginning, the communication from both Nicci and Sophie on design, quotes and ideas was second to none; no query was too big or too small and they accommodated every fantastical idea that we had.

Nicci is a culinary genius! Our menu was divine; one that we could never have imagined, with scotch eggs, mac and cheese, lamb, potatoes, chargrilled vegetables and pizzas of dreams! Not to mention the canapes! We suggested the dessert course in a canape style and even though Nicci said they’d never really done it that way before, she didn’t hesitate for a moment and absolutely excelled!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting day; it gave us a real insight to how the wedding day would be. Being invited to the small holding for it gave us a real sense of Home Gurr’own – it was exactly what we were looking for, a local supplier, sustainable and authentic. All this shone through in the menu and food throughout!

As expected, on our wedding day, the food and drink were truly incredible, everything was executed so perfectly! Many of our guests commented on how good the food was, enjoying beautifully presented canapes and a stunning wedding breakfast, all of which looked as good as they tasted. We were blown away!

It wouldn’t do Home Gurr’own justice to focus solely on the food and drink. While Nicci creates magic in the kitchen, Sophie brings everything outside it together!

Sophie coordinated our day to an absolute tee, bringing our wedding to life! She worked to understand the aesthetics and vibe we wanted for our ENTIRE day, not just the catering aspects. Her creativity and imagination really helped us with the bigger picture of our day as well as refining the finer details. Her support was fundamental in helping us create the most beautiful day!

The day before our wedding Sophie and the team laid out our tables for us with our décor, it looked exactly how we imagined, laid with precision and no detail forgotten. We were lost for words when we saw the barn, it was extraordinary – and that was just the beginning!

On our wedding day, it was evident that Sophie knew every detail of our day like she’d lived it a hundred times before! Everything ran on time, no detail was missed, every problem was solved in minutes and she went above and beyond to make sure Dan and I had everything we needed.

If there was an issue or we needed something, Sophie was there every time. She was always there but we didn’t realise she was – she blended into our day seamlessly! We had canapes and drinks brought to us, we had queues to move into the next part of our day and she coordinated the suppliers, ensuring they had everything they needed to do the best job they could too.

So many of our wedding guests commented on how excellent the whole service team were throughout the day - they're a true credit to Nicci and Sophie!

It’s difficult for us to put into words the impact Home Gurr’own had on our day – until you’ve experienced dedication and devotion on this level, you can never quite understand it!

For a year, Nicci and Sophie worked tirelessly to understand the vibe we wanted for our wedding and our likes and dislikes and they executed it perfectly.

With Home Gurr’own you get genuine, invested interest – they deeply care about ensuring your wedding day is the best day of your life. From food to drinks, to implementing fantastical design ideas, to detailing the order of the day, to liaising with suppliers and the venue – there is no stone left unturned! It really wouldn't have been nearly as spectacular without them!!
