Fantastic cafe on the Bramley high street. Great coffee and food, as well as friendly staff. Really good for kids too
Rating: 5 / 5
A fantastic ☕️ coffee shop with a children’s play area. The coffee I had was really, really nice. When I saw this shop I was hoping to get something dairy and gluten-free to bite. Josh and his little Nest didn’t disappoint me as there’s vegan, dairy and gluten-free options are all available here. I think he was born to run this coffee shop as he’s so welcoming and friendly, had a great chat and laughter 😁 This was the first time I came here and I will definitely pop in again when I’m in the area. Very positive experience, he actually made my day! Well done 👍

Positano
124A High St, Tunsgate, Guildford GU1 3HQ, UK | Italian Restaurant P: 01483 563277
Rating: 4.8 (2047) Price Level:
This was our first visit to the area so we asked a shop assistant if she could recommend a nice place for a birthday lunch. Without hesitation she recommended Positano. We were so glad she did. Everything was just brilliant from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious (we had the fried chicken in a white wine mushroom sauce and the salmon with spinach and crushed potatoes😋), the staff were very friendly and attentive throughout all in a lovely relaxing atmosphere too. Thank you for my birthday candle in my dessert it was a lovely thoughtful touch and most certainly the icing on the cake after a wonderful lunch! 😃🥰🎂

The staff are authentic Italians, adding an extra touch of charm and authenticity to the service. And the food? Simply divine! Every dish is bursting with flavor and truly 100% Italian. I highly recommend this place—it’s a must-try for anyone who loves Italian cuisine. You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful lunch with my neighbour at Positano. I’ve wanted to come here hit a long time but it was always fully booked. Today we had a great lunch, great service, and great atmosphere. Food was delicious and the best tiramisù I’ve had in a long time. Brilliant, I’ll take other friends here too.
Rating: 5 / 5
Fantastic meal at Positano last night. Superb attentive service whilst not being intrusive. Not been here for several years, as previous experience was not what we expected. However so glad we tried them again and it won’t be the last time. Garlic bread was delicious - so good we forgot to take a photo. I had the risotto and can easily say it was the best I have tasted. My husband had the fish special was equally delicious. The suggested wine pairing was perfect. The puddings rounded off a great night. So give Positano a try and we’ll probably see you there as we are definitely coming back.

Good selection of West Indian and Jamaican food in a large beach hut vendor styled theme. For starters my partner had Sweetcorn Dumplings which were pleasant but a little bland for my taste, some Chickpea Doubles which weren't bad and I had some decent Fiery Wings, not that hot in my opinion but tasty and well cooked so meat fell off the bone, nice to see normal size wings rather than the artificially bred oversize wings some use that lack flavour. Mains my partner went for a Katsu type curry with Vegan Chicken with Rice and Peas which she enjoyed and I had the Curry Goat with Rice and Peas which was tasty but I found the gravy a little thin for my preference. Meat was off the bone which was good for convenience as I had a white shirt on but less authentic, portions were decent although personally would have liked a little more Rice and Peas to soak up the gravy. Two for One cocktails were on offer which we grabbed a couple each, in keeping with the cuisine these tend to be Rum or Tequila based so a nice strong flavour profile and whilst not the best cocktails I've ever tried for the money they were good and offered decent value for money. Would definitely look to return in future.

Food - amazing. We had the fish tacos, crispy squid and brown chicken curry, all so amazing. Drinks have been absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend to the Candy sour and lychee daiquiri. Service from Gio and Ryan was absolutely perfect. Really attentive and lovely people. Music is great with live DJ on Friday night! 2–4-1 cocktails.4 cocktails and 2 starters for £28

I booked the big round table upstairs for me and my friends for my birthday! I had heard good things about this restaurant and everything was true! The atmosphere, the character of the building and all of the staff were super pleasant friendly and amenable! In particular Tom took a shining to our table And the owner even came up to say hello! Grantley Arms
The Street, Wonersh, Wonersh, Guildford GU5 0PE, UK | Pub P: 01483 893351
Rating: 4.5 (1109) Price Level:
We had the most DELICIOUS roast dinner yesterday at The Grantley and enjoyed ourselves so much. Every single one of the staff were so warm and welcoming - from the bar staff, to our waitress, to the man handing out extra Yorkies and gravy in a brilliant shirt! Not only that but the food was outstanding - it felt so nice to be paying for food that wasn't a disappointment. 11/10 - we'll definitely be back!
Rating: 4 / 5
Food really good but could have been warmer but there were 20+ of us plus a full pub. We were in the Bakery which was a wonderful side room with lots of history. Warren and his team really pulled out the stops to look after us all. A warm log fire and lovely table decorations- wood with brass candle enclosures. My roast beef was great although could have been thinner sliced which would have given the appearance of more- but I was full anyway. They even let us bring our home baked cakes to celebrate our eldest sons 30’th which they helped to prepare with candles at the end of the meal.
Rating: 4 / 5
After many visits to the Grantley Arms this was the first disappointment. Unfortunately for the number of diners, there were not enough staff. Our waiter was very good but ON HIS FIRST DAY and we had to keep asking for - menus, drinks, water, etc. He certainly did his best. Also the pork was not good. It really was mostly fat and the vegetables were not for a Sunday Roast. Having said all that we still like visiting the restaurant and as this was the first visit of our 'newly found cousins' we had a lovely day - we will be back!

The Percy Arms
75 Dorking Rd, Chilworth, Guildford GU4 8NP, UK | Pub P: 01483 561765
Rating: 4.5 (1872) Price Level:
Lovely stay at The Percy Arms, for my birthday. Fantastic, friendly service which we couldn't fault. The food was very tasty, fillet steak was particularly good and the burnt basque cheesecake was delicious. The room was pleasant and nicely decorated, though it was quite loud with the hallway door to the bar/restaurant being propped open until closing time. There were a couple of bulbs out in the bathroom, the mirror light being an issue as there was no other suitable well lit mirror to apply makeup. The Nespresso machine needs a good clean, three cycles with just water and it was still brown and had coffee grounds in. A little welcome pack, with local info, in the room would be really nice. Breakfast was excellent, recommend the South African full breakfast.
Rating: 5 / 5
A Tuesday steak night at the Percey is always a great way of hooking up with mates every now and again. Especially groups of mates. We all order differently. Must be so tedious for the staff. But always great service. Great food. And a new winter menu to explore. Sunday carvery is always epic.
Rating: 5 / 5
What an absolute gem! I was staying for business and didn't arrive until late. I was welcomed by smiley and incredibly helpful staff. After a quick checking in process, I was taken to an exsquisite room beautifully appointed. I slept like a log in a big and truly comfortable bed. Breakfast was hot and tasty. I would definitely stay here again. Why stay in a large, impersonal corporate hotel, when you can stay here. Highly recommended!
Rating: 4 / 5
Met our son for lunch on a Thursday. We were persuaded to have the Porterhouse steak between us at a cost of £48, only supposed to be a light lunch as eating out that evening, but were sold it well, so agreed. Were advised to also have a South African platter to accompany the steak which was quite extravagant. Food was good, but overall an expensive lunch at £85 for 3 of us, felt a bit pressured, but our waiter Naren was very hospitable and enthusiastic so we went along with his suggestions. Quiet pub, great service, food enjoyable but a bit heavy for what was supposed to be a light lunch.

We came here for a meal only. I’ve used it off and on for years. At weekends it is very busy and it has a decent garden so in the summer is a hot spot for families, cyclists and walkers. They specialise in meat and have a number of interesting and tasty South African dishes. There is great walking nearby in the hills or on neighbouring Blackheath

Maya Cuisine

Rating: 4.6 (167) Price Level:
Me and my family visited Maya Cuisine and the food was delicious! Truly had the mothers touch with cooking and the staff were lovely. Would recommend Maya Cuisine. The variety in the menu was great and the staff recommendations were spot on. The mixed starter was the best 😋
Rating: 5 / 5
Every time we order from Maya the food is always exceptional, flavourful, fresh, delicious and always piping hot. The staff are so friendly and welcoming every single time. Genuinely a superb Indian Restaurant/Takeaway that I would highly recommend to anyone.
Rating: 5 / 5
I’m person of Asian heritage and can confirm the food is about as authentic you can get. Delicious, it’s not like the usual high street curry house. The street food is their forte and their naan breads are perfect 👌🏽
Rating: 5 / 5
I had an takeaway order from Maya last night. I was a bit dubious about the place but the service and quality of food I received is amazing. My order arrived on time hot and in good packaging. All of the dishes were delicious. Tandoori dishes were moisture locked inside the meat and not too dry. Curry dishes were felt like hot but did not linger in my mouth for long to give intolerable impression. I would definitely recommend the place as food and service was great.

The Bricklayers Arms
The Green, Guildford Rd, Shamley Green, Guildford GU5 0UA, UK | Pub P: 01483 898377
Rating: 4.6 (260) Price Level:
A group of 10 of us had lunch here today before visiting a local garden. I only booked the day before, but the landlord moved tables around so we could sit together. The food was really good. Quality ingredients, freshly prepared, nicely presented - it looked appetising, and was good value. The staff were really pleasant and efficient. There was no fuss about having separate bills which arrived quickly and correctly. The atmosphere was good. Unpretentious and cheerful. I highly recommend this pub.

Excellent traditional pub. Goid beer. Good food. Good service. Good, friendly atmosphere.

Booked for a meal for a Friday evening and everything was wonderful. Delicious food was served by very nice waiters and waitresses. The garden is large and nicely arranged and there is parking too. Whitebait, bread and olives, fish and chips and scampi were all tasty and nice portions. We will definitely be back, on our motorbikes next time. 😘

Just popped in for a surprise Sunday roast and we we're luckily able to given a table as we hadn't booked (which I would recommend doing beforehand). We arrived and were given a table and shortly afterwards we were greated by one of the staff. We ordered are drinks and then food, after 15 or so minutes out food was served. I was a very good sized portion for the cost, hot and very, very nice and comforting for a chilly Sunday afternoon. We were asked if we'd like dessert but declined as the roast itself was more than enough. They had a good selection of drinks and the staff were very friendly and polite. Will definitely be going back for another visit, thank you so much for a meal.

Delicious food - the menu seems to be regularly updated, which is always good to see. Every time I come here, it has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Not too far from the main highstreet
Rating: 5 / 5
A very cozy pub with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating options that serves great bar food and friendly service. It's so cool to see they allowed dogs inside and they provides lots of dog beds as well for use while at the pub. Will try to come back here when it's not raining next time and enjoy the river view seating.
Rating: 5 / 5
Traditional battered fish is decent. Not the best but honestly one of the top I’ve had. The batter is crispy and not too greasy, and the haddock is not dried out and seemed fresh. The fish is super big, although this also means at some point it eventually becomes soggy. Pork chop is surprisingly good. Tender and flavorful with rosemary. Also super grateful that I was able to have a beautiful salad instead of the chips in fish and chips. Service is efficient despite the full evening. And dog friendly!!
Rating: 5 / 5
Nice surprise. We weren’t planning on going there but arrived as a last resort through the rain. The ambience is great and cosy, the food was very good, particularly the baked Camembert and the tatin, and just being there with friends was a great experience

Very cute restaurant! Very cozy and homie. Very interesting setup. You walk in, tell the peson how many and you pick a seat. We had halloumi fries (yum!!!) And crusty sourdough roll w/ caramelized pecan (omgee.. so good!). Main course, I have the fish and chips. My hubby had the roast ham and eggs, and my daughter had the crispy chicken burger❤️
