Sunday lunch after the races. Nice cut of beef and a shoulder of lamb accompanied by a nicely cooked, albeit skimpy portion of vegetables. Pub was quiet and we were tabled in the front room which wasn't really a restaurant, more of a pub table. There is a restaurant area at the back which looked quite cosy. The beer garden looks great for the summer, and generally the service was tight and pleasant from attentive service staff. Price wasn't too bad either. 3 pots of tea. 3 Sunday dinners. 1 Cauliflower cheese (tiny portion). 1 dessert. £52 Sat next to a log burner in the middle of January. It wasn't lit. 🥶

Had lunch from 3 different menus either Snack, 2/3 course Lunch or Main menu, so plenty of choice. Staff were friendly & helpful. Good choice of beers and the food was hot, tasty & well presented. Worth a visit.

Just back from a fabulous 2 nights here. What a lovely place, would highly recommend to anyone thinking of going. We were made very welcome and the staff were so friendly. The food was lovely and my husband said especially the breakfast. I'm sorry I didn't get one of the managers names who spoke to us this morning, just after breakfast, but she was so nice and a credit to The Smugglers. We will be back.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at The Smugglers Inn. On arrival, Lloyd greeted us and made us feel welcome instantly - before any money had even exchanged hands he made sure we were ‘fed and watered’ after our long drive. Nothing was too much effort for any of the staff…. Special mentions to Rafaela our waitress,Ella, and the bar-staff who really looked after us. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, great menu in general and a great breakfast spread! The room was spotless, cozy and well-equipped. It was my partners birthday and they went out of their way to make it special for him. We would definitely recommend staying here and we have already talked about returning one day. Thanks again to ALL the staff for making our stay so special. Sam and Phil

I was on a one night walking break and feeling a little out of sorts. A lovely lady Hebe really looked after me and made me feel so welcome. I called in for a snack and coffee but booked a room. The amazing hospitality continued the next morning with delicious breakfast and Ellis really looked after me. I’ve only been away once on my own before and they really gave me confidence to do it again.

If you're looking for a cozy pub that delivers on all fronts, this is the place! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed Sunday afternoon. The Sunday roast here is absolutely top-notch. The portions are generous, and the quality is superb. What really sets this pub apart, though, is the service. The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. They’re attentive without being intrusive and always make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. Karli served us today and Hebe greeted us. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a hearty Sunday roast in a charming, welcoming setting!

We have been into this place a few times while on holiday, and every time the food is spot on. You order at the bar, to one of the friendly staff. Food took around 15-20 minutes to come out, and it was very hot. I had the double cheese burger, which had a hint of spice in, and was amazing. We also had the chicken wings, Ham, egg and chips, a fish finger sandwich. It's not the cheapest of places, nor is it the most expensive. Would I go there again 100% would I recommend 100%.

Nice place. Polite, helpful people. Order at the counter. No servers. I had fish and chips. The fish was overcooked and dry. The chips were warm. My son had the chicken pie which was ok. I had initially ordered the steak pie from the menu, but it was not available on the day. The dessert was very good. Monday the food prices are discounted by my

1st time visiting in a number of years, as I was inn the area and had arranged to meet friends. Quick and efficient booking system, meant I had a table reserved. It was a Friday night, so relatively busy but still managed to get served our drinks quickly and they continued to flow regularly. Ordered food, which was delivered to our table after no more than a 30 minute wait. A very good sized, juicy & tasty burger was devoured fairly quickly! Overall was a good as I remembered from my very first visit...

A lovely spot to visit if you’re in Southwell, right next to Southwell Minster. Abi’s customer service is exceptional, greeting us warmly as we arrived. Nearly every table was full at 1.00pm on a Monday! We found a cosy table for two to celebrate my Dad’s 80th Birhday. Abi was rushed off her feet as the only person on front-of-house but took our order and offered alternatives (fish & chips sold out!) which arrived soon after. We even took a piece of the delicious vegan courgette cake with yummy icing home for later. We got chatting to a very friendly Mum and daughter (with cutest pup) who had dined at the table next to us. Overall, this is one of my Dad’s favourite places to go for lunch. There are always some interesting specials of the day to choose from, the staff are super kind and attentive and the ambience, decor and overall vibe very welcoming and pleasant. Thank you Abi for making it such a lovely day!

Hive Beach Cafe Burton Bradstock

Beach Rd, Burton Bradstock, Bridport DT6 4RF, UK | Seafood Restaurant
P: 01308 897070

Rating: 4.3 (3779) Price Level:

This is a well loved beach cafe which has beautiful scenic views, it is very popular and rightly so. The menu is mainly fish and seafood dishes. However, they do a smashing full English breakfast up to 11.30 am. I will post pics. This dog friendly beach cafe has a carpark close by, but if you choose to walk along the cliff top path or the lower paths, you will walk within the most beautiful scenery. This is a totally table service venue, so once you are seated, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. Prices are reasonable.

Came here today, after walking from our campsite at Graston Copse through Burton Bradstock village. A warm welcome by a member of staff & shown to our outside table for 4 with 3 dogs. Our waitress took our drinks order & returned after a few minutes to take our food order. She was very friendly and attentive, giving time for a chat despite being extremely busy. Wait for our food was minimal and when it arrived it was hot, tasty & well presented. Back ground music was pleasant, giving the Mediterranean feeling due to the sunshine. Wouldn't hesitate in returning if we are in the area again .... thank you.

Huge muscles in a nicely balanced blue cheese cream sauce. The fish chowder was also lovely, great tasting fish and fresh veg. We enjoyed on a wet and windy day, outside seating had heaters which warmed us up nicely. Would recommend after a walk.

We arrived at 11.20, just in time to order breakfast. We were lucky to get the table on the edge of the 'tent' overlooking the beach. Despite being quite busy we received very efficient service. The food arrived within 15- 20 min, then our hot drinks. We had 3 x full English and egg Benedict on muffin with bacon. Everyone enjoyed it. The only nuisance were a few wasps but not a lot to spoil our experience.
