Friendly staff , wonderfully cooked food , cutesy pub and amazing cherry sundae is one of the best puddings I've ever had

A lovely old-fashioned place with lots of outside work being done to the sheltered area, which is quite large, the gardens have lots of seating and a children's playground. The food was lovely and the staff all happy and helpful. We will go here again!

Fantastic food and service, parking on site and great atmosphere. Next time we visit I shall try the cottage pie. Update: I went back for our final day on holiday for the cottage pie 😁. I was not disappointed! Give your chef a raise!

A very ship themed elegant pub restaurant... Beautifully decorated with a lot of ship memorabilia... Huge outdoor seating area with climbing frame for children. Spotlessly clean throughout and very friendly staff. Stones throw from the beach this pub has many letting rooms and free parking... I'll let the Photos tell the rest of this story...

Have been coming to this lovely little (ish) pub every year for the last 25 yrs when on annual holidays in Weymouth, Dorset. I have seen quite a few changes over the years as the place has undergone changes, (minor indoors, a bit more in the rear garden area). But it has obviously modernised keeping it's brilliant character intact. I would 200% recommend a visit to this cracking little pub. And to boot the food is absolutely lovely! (I'm not joking), especially their homemade beef & ale pie and mash. Hopefully the good lord allows me another visit next year... 🙏

The Gurkha
Commercial Rd, Melcombe Regis Car Park, Weymouth DT4 7TY, UK | Restaurant P: 01305 778877
Rating: 4.2 (1226) Price Level:
Great value for money , if you pace yourself. There is a huge choice to choose from in this buffet . Nepalese , Indian , Chinese, and Thai. You have 90 minutes to eat .. which I understand and you will probably be full before then . Sensibly they will charge you extra if you waste food .. so a little and often . All in all it is good .
Rating: 5 / 5
My partner and I visited on a Tuesday evening for dinner service. The staff seemed friendly enough and were happy to help with anything. But when you visit an all you can eat buffet it's all about the food lol. There was a very good selection of dishes including duck wraps, various curries and noodles and all of it was great. It looked great and tasted even better. The restaurant itself looks like a boat and is situated one the water giving a nice look to it. I found it great value for money and would definitely visit again when in Weymouth. Highly recommended. The photo I took really doesn't do it justice.

Update: today's visit 1st Nov 24 was delicious, busy so food very fresh and good variety. Jasmine tea very refreshing. We always enjoy the whole experience and staff attentive and friendly. Old review:Went for my birthday lunch in between Xmas and NY, not much choice of Thai but had plenty of starter choices and the Nepali lamb curry which was not very spicy but good. Great setting.

The Gurka is a Nepalese restaurant in Weymouth serving a mix of Asian food, buffet style. We arrived at 1.00pm on a Saturday and there was a good selection of starters and mains. Desert consists of mainly ice cream and fresh fruit. Parking nearby in a pay to park car park.

Fantastic, love this place Went here again this week. As usual the food was lovely, tasty and plentiful. My only gripe is, it was very cold sitting inside, more heating would be nice . Another visit on 1st August Quite disappointed as we got there for 1.10 pm to have lunch buffet, most things were missing or quite depleted and they didn't bring out anymore food. Such a shame as I know this has happened to friends who have dined there lately

Springhead
110 Sutton Rd, Sutton Poyntz, Weymouth DT3 6LW, UK | Pub P: 01305 832117
Rating: 4.3 (1754) Price Level:
Myself and some friends have been renting a cottage just a short walk from the Springhead, a couple of times a year for the last 7 or 8 years, and we make a point of going out for a good Sunday roast. We've tried most of the well known pubs in the vicinity over the years, some of which have been a little hit and miss, but out of all of them The Springhead has been the most consistently excellent.
Rating: 4 / 5
Meeting friends here. Food was good. Pub is great but wasn’t busy at 12:00 which was lovely! Service was very slow (perhaps this was because we weren’t ready on their first ask!) and we had to ask on every count. Good parking. Beautiful quiet village!

Visited for a midweek meal with my mum on 10th April. The exterior and interior is lovely - well decorated with nice furnishings. Very friendly service, and all food ordered was delicious. Mum spoke very highly of the gammon & mustard pie of the day, and my Springhead smoke house burger was perfectly seasoned. The salted caramel cheesecake was a delicious addition for dessert. We left Springhead very impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

Located in a gorgeous dainty village, so cute. We had starters and mains, mostly the food wad delicious some small issues with the starters, the squid was fairly chewy. The atmosphere was nice but the service lacked a little at times. Things weren't communicated that great between staff, customers, and food wait times. Overall, we all enjoyed our food and the pub in general.

The Dorset Kitchen
Littlemoor Rd, Weymouth DT3 6AD, UK | Restaurant P: Not available
Rating: 4.4 (94) Price Level:
The Dorset Kitchen is absolutely perfect! The restaurant is light, airy and tidy. All members of staff were very polite and helpful during our visit for breakfast, on the 8th April. We ordered 2 full breakfast’s - one with poached eggs and the other with fried. Every ingredient on both plates was fresh and cooked to PERFECTION. We then ordered some cake to take away which was delicious too. I thoroughly recommend The Dorset Kitchen - hope to be back soon!
Rating: 5 / 5
Didn't have food, although the menu looked tasty and so did the cakes! 😋 We just had a lovely hot cuppa! 😁. Lovely cafe, the staff were friendly and because we had our little dog with us we sat outside, which a lovely young lady who worked there informed us of a designated dog area under cover, good to know for when we visit again..🐶😁 There is also a lovely garden centre attached, which is just packed full of goodies, especially lovely for this time of year as it has all the Christmas trees up with the decorations and Xmas gift ideas... definitely would recommend visiting here. XxX

Kind staff with a very flexible approach to your food choices. Cosy feel for a biggish restaurant. Country setting. Excellent coffee. Bank card accepted even for small amounts. Thank YOU The Dorset Kitchen for a much needed 'me moment'🌹
Rating: 4 / 5
Had full English breakfast and it was very nice with proper butchers sausages. Sadly there was a fair amount of water on the plate, maybe from the scrambled eggs which was a shame as it had soaked into the toast and hash browns making them a yucky soggy mess.

The Dorset kitchen recently held my baby shower for 20+ guests, we enjoyed afternoon tea and we all agreed the whole experience was absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the food was delicious and the whole atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. Thank you so much to you all!!

Cafe Oasis
Overcombe Corner, Bowleaze Coveway, Weymouth DT3 6PN, UK | Cafe P: 01305 977990
Rating: 4.3 (1700) Price Level:
Good place to have breakfast and coffee. The place was a bit busy when I been there so I had to order couple of times to get all what I want but it was pretty straightforward. Recommend in a sunny day as is close to the beach
Rating: 5 / 5
Can't fault it. Good breakfast and coffee to start with. Parking right next door no problem for big 4x4 Jeep to get into. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Dogs dotted around chilled with punters on their laptops or tablets working. Had a group of 6 as well sat in the middle of the cafe having a great time. Quick walk down the beach for a bit of sea air. Can't wait to go back but with the dog next time 🤩

OMG!!! I thought... just another front beach cafe ... You'd expect bad expresso, everage food at high cost.... WRONG! never had such a flavourful dish in places like this. The crunchy skin in the salmon was superb and the fish cooked just right. The mash and asparagus were dressed and seasoned properly not just on top. The expresso was full of flavour and body (Italian barista I bet!) The stuff very kind and courteous. The salmon dish in the picture was just 17£ Please don't miss this place!

Good food. Sea views are fantastic with picnic tables. Right next to small car park. Good prices.

We had a wonderful evening at the cafe Oasis. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere and ambience was lovely. Good choice of menu. Our food was delicious. We were advised well regarding our choice of main meal which swayed my husband towards the spicier dish Excellent customer service. We've booked again!!

Rating: 4.4 (346) Price Level:
Fantastic food in a fantastic location served by ultra-friendly staff! Definitely a place to enjoy a ‘special’ meal in Weymouth particularly as you are out of range of the smell of fish and chip shops!! We sat outside on a Tuesday lunchtime which was beautiful but not great for atmosphere. Great value for the quality of food served particularly the salmon trout speciality! Will definitely be back on our next visit to Weymouth!
Rating: 5 / 5
Great experience from beginning to end. Lovely staff, GREAT coffee! Tasty breakfast and excellent bread for toast. This is a must stop place for a breakfast in Weymouth. 10/10!
Rating: 5 / 5
Beautiful restaurant with impeccable service. We felt very welcomed and the staff was extremely friendly and smiling. The food was exceptional. We had the duck breast, beef fillet, and pannacotta and treacle tart for dessert. 10/10 would visit again.

Stopped for a coffee and snack during a walk. It was a lovely sunny and warm September morning and we were lucky to get the only spare table outside. We had coffee and a lovely slice of homemade read pudding (which was especially scrummy). There was an Ironman race going on which added a bit of a spectacle to the visit. The café looks pretty and clean and the staff seemed to be greeting a few regulars which is always a good sign!

Eating in England isn't exactly always a satisfactory experience... But at the Hamilton's you'll be sure to enjoy delicious food, with fine fish, preciously cooked vegetables accompanied with an excellent sauce which balances the overall composition, while contemplating the sea with a marvelous view. Be sure to taste the amazing ice cream too! The staff is also very nice.

Rendezvous & Royal Oak Weymouth

Rating: 4 (2510) Price Level:
Thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks, the staff are very accommodating too.
Rating: 4 / 5
Some nice vegan options. The mushroom tacos and cauliflower wings were the best (both very tasty and filling). Tuesday's they have a cheap wings deal so you can get quite a lot. It was very quite on a Tuesday night, so no issues getting a table or being served.

Thanks to Owen for making our bottomless brunch such a fun experience! We had a birthday brunch planned at Slug & Lettuce who unfortunately had to cancel on the morning due to a gas leak. We were really appreciative of Rendezvous being able to get us a booking last minute. Owen was especially helpful as we had some issues with the billing at the end but he was able to sort it out for us. We had a great time and they were even able to offer gluten free options. We would definitely come back for a bottomless brunch again. Thanks Owen!

We visited in a quiet Monday afternoon for a soft drink. Staff pleasent and efficient. Plenty of seating inside and out with views over harbour. Saw others ordering food which looked good. We had large lemonade and blackcurrant drinks for only £2 each. Looks like it's a popular night spot. Toilets up loads of stairs and small with broken locks no good if you have mobility issues.

The Three Chimneys

Rating: 4 (160) Price Level:
A friendly and warm welcome in a clean and surprisingly light and airy restaurant. We had carverys for 2 adults and 2 children. Clean plates all round!!! An absolutely delicious carvey. Perfect roast potatoes, juicy tender beef, great big Yorkshire puddings and a fabulous array of vegetables. The gammon was also amazing, the kids loved it. There was a turkey option, but we didn't try that thus time. I wish we had discovered this before, a definite favourite for us from now on!!! 🤤🤤😋😋
Rating: 5 / 5
Massive thanks to all the staff at the Three Chimneys for such a pleasant dining experience. The carvery is delicious with some very original flavour combinations, and the staff are always friendly and upbeat even when the restaurant is absolutely packed! Warm and professional service, I felt very welcome and would highly recommend this place.

Came for Sunday roast just before Christmas with a friend after hearing good things. Called in advance to book, but wasn't very busy but better to be safe than sorry! Food was absolutely delicious. Easily the most flavoursome carvery I think I've ever enjoyed that wasn't home-cooked! Great service, staff were polite and food was delicious, really couldn't fault it and will definitely be returning - Also, Free parking as a welcome bonus!

Proper Naughty Burger
6C King St, Weymouth DT4 7BH, UK | Restaurant P: 07899 675412
Rating: 4 (76) Price Level:
Proper naughty burger? More like proper banging chicken. Now, don't get me wrong their burgers are fantastic but their chicken is on another planet. For just 17 quid we ate for 3 people with drinks and chips, so their price is more than fair.the workers were kind and supplied us with anything we needed. An amazing experience 10/10 would recommend.
Rating: 5 / 5
I've been here a few times now, and it's always been consistently high-quality food with incredibly friendly staff. The atmosphere inside the takeaway is incredibly relaxed and welcoming, and one of the best places I've been to around Weymouth. The food itself is definitely the highlight of the experience, with quality presentation, great taste, and a portion size they absolutely do not skimp on, which I find is rare for an independent business such as this. In addition, all of the packaging for the food is completely recyclable (save for the small sauce containers you get with dessert) being made of cardboard and paper. A great place, absolutely will be frequenting here every time I'm in Weymouth.

Rating: 4.1 (1851) Price Level:
This pub is in an excellent location affording nice views across the Harbour. There is a good amount of outside seating. The pub is bigger than it looks and is warm and welcoming. Dogs are made very welcome everywhere except the carpeted areas. The food was nicely cooked and the beer was good.

Had a great meal, Sunday evening, staff very friendly & helpful, told us what wasn't available due to Sunday lunches. It was all ok. The food was absolutely lovely, even the puddings were great. Atmosphere was so relaxed and had a nice restaurant area to look over the harbour. Service was nice and quick after ordering. We will be back again soon for another meal this year, with family.
Rating: 5 / 5
We have stopped there on our walk with our dog and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the atmosphere very pleasant and the staff was attentive and friendly. Our dog especially enjoyed all the attention and treats. Thank you very much! We will be definitely back soon!

Booked Christmas Lunch for 14 people. Staff were lovely, food was excellent. The table was decorated and there were crackers. Portion size of turkey was very generous. Several of us had salmon, which was also very good. Everyone just about managed to eat everything, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The price was extremely good. I would highly recommend a group booking at any time of year.
