Fresh from a micro bakery based in Westhoughton - a white sourdough loaf. Sam, the owner of hive, has been running this micro bakery for around a year and a half. He bakes many goodies , from tantalising toffee puddings to scrumptious seed loaves, all fresh and handmade , directly from his home kitchen. This sourdough loaf is superb. Everything is fresh, even down to the aged homegrown starter. It has a tangy flavour , a crisp , crackly crust and is extremely healthy. You will never settle for store bought loaves again! I paired my sourdough with smashed avocado , spring onion and chilli flakes - but if you prefer something else - you will be happy to know this bread goes with almost everything! Because of its tangy flavour it pairs well with both sweet and savoury toppings. It’s also delicious with hot soup- a perfect hearty and healthy meal for these cold days! Sourdough bread has more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants than other breads. Nutrients can also be easily absorbed. It also contains less gluten than regular bread. Sourdough bread is also an excellent source of antioxidants. The pastries here are unreal! So buttery and flavourful! I absolutely love their foccaccia and wholesome sandwiches that you can't put down. The pastries run out quick so best to grab some in the morning. Highly recommend their Cardamom Buns and filled Cruffins 😍

I called and bought seeded sourdough based on a couple of recommendations from friends. The flavour profile is quite exceptional, whether toasted or simply buttered, wow what a joy to eat. I will be calling regularly and also buying for a couple of friends who appreciate great quality.

Simply awesome! Everything about Hive just works perfectly. The produce is amazing, from the delicate croissant to the substantial seeded sourdough (and everything in between) and Sam and Emily are the loveliest people you could wish to meet. Easily the best bakery I have had the pleasure of sampling the goods from, fullstop - end of story. Sandwiches, amazing, croissants and derivatives, AMAZING. Every time we go, new products to try. These guys keep hitting it out of the ballpark! Keep doing what you are doing!
