Small but lovely coffee and snack shop. Amazing crumpets, cakes, coffee and hot chocolate. Super friendly staff and great service. Perfect for getting something on the go during a walk, bike ride or on the way to work.

I cannot believe the kindness and generosity of the lady in the truck in Manchester on June 8th. It was my birthday and she gave me a free coffee... but it was also a GREAT COFFEE, deep n complex yet creamy with my choice of Oat Milk. My partner agreed that this was gooooood coffee - we are hard to please in this department!

Took my 3 kids to see Santa and have a hot chocolate and treats. Santa was lovely and spent lots of time talking to them. Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was delicious!! Sally and her team are just awesome. Highly recommend 👍

Beautiful. Located in the quaint town of Uppermill, this chic cafe bar is a faithful spinoff of one of Uppermill’s best cafes, Caffe Grande Abaco. This cafe bar has a nice rustic and authentic atmosphere, like a traditional cafe bar you may find in Italy. Also, the staff are really friendly (10/10), especially Nigel (the owner), who was great to me. Plus, I went to Caffe Grande Abaco for 10 years, and it was quite emotional to meet Nigel, as I was always asking the staff at Caffe Grande Abaco, “Is the owner in?”. Now, back to Veloce! The cafe offers a variety of drinks, handpicked from CGA (at this point, I’m going to shorten it - Caffe Grande Abaco). So, you can have a nice latte or a cosy hot chocolate while you chill and warm up here. Surprisingly, it is also a deli, since they have charcuterie meats and cheeses, condiments, authentic Mediterranean pastries and biscuits, and even freshly baked bread (so authentic!). I tried Rogers Pistachio Cruffin (mix between a croissant and a muffin) which was crispy and flaky on the outside, but fluffy and indulgent on the inside, and the silky pistachio cream made it even better. Perfect for breakfast! They also do sandwiches here, with fresh sourdough and scrumptious meats and cheeses and even flaky sausage rolls. What I really want to mention, however, is the fact that they are supporting local businesses. Most things here (the pastries, products and even honey) are made by small businesses in towns near Uppermill, which is really nice as Veloce is helping out those businesses. Overall, this place is a must if you are looking for a proper Italian cafe bar, and some delicious food. It is also perfect if you want to buy some charcuterie meats and cheeses, as they have a wide variety of them. Only complaint is, Veloce really needs to bring in some Arancini, as I don’t see much Arancini in Saddleworth, and I’m very sad about that. Only ever been once, Mel was Lovely! Offered he help my carry things to my car and was having a laugh and joke with customers, you can tell that people come back, the food with great! And a really good price! Will definitely stop again!

Great local bottle shop that is much more than a bottle shop. Coffee from local coffee roasters avaliable to drink on site or takeaway. There’s a selection of quality beers from breweries around the world as well as wines and spirits that are always worth a cheeky look at. There’s fresh pies and croissants amongst some sweet baked treats as well. Thea is a fridge with cooked meats and cheeses as well. Lou and Badger are lovely people to stop by and chat with. You can sit outside with your coffee or beer too…

We have just been and had a breakfast also aloud us to bring our dog in. The breakfast was lovely sausages are next level and he even goes to the effort of making home made baked beans and they are yummy. Definitely be back, it's a little gem hidden away.

Visited this place today. Google maps took us to the other side if the river so had to detour, was a bit tricky to find but when at the mill it is signposted. The owner was lovely, friendly and chatty. Cafe itself is a little hidden gem! Lovely decor and a great feel to it. Our food was cooked fresh and the flavours were bang on. Wil definitely return and off course recommend to all reading this! You wont be disappointed. Upon hearing about the homemade pies and sausage rolls he makes we was gutted he had none available. That just goes to show how popular they are!!

What a gem of a place! The food is excellent. Really good quality, cooked to perfection and served piping hot. The home made baked beans alone are worth a visit. Plus, the decor and Frank Sinatra soundtrack in the background give this place a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely cake options. Big portions. Limited lunch options but the sandwiches we had were very nice. They had run out of ice on one of the hottest days of the year so far which was a shame as out cold drinks were rather warm. Friendly staff, clean and tidy interior and lovely patio/front area for eating outside. Reasonably priced, certainly for the amount of cake!!!

Lots of toys and books to read for children, as well as adult books. Cakes are a little bit pricy but delicious. Definitely more of a treat than a regular visit but definitely worth a visit.

We have a very nice lunch here today! The food was fresh and delicious! There was a bit of wait earlier, but worth it! We were served pretty quickly and the food came shortly later! Would definitely return if we are in the area again! There’s limited car parking outside.

Excellent quality of food - some great cake choices after also - we took home some apple pie which is gorgeous. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we were served quickly. The external toilets are a bit cold and wet in the rainy cold weather but other than that a perfect spot for lunch. I’ll definitely be back and bring my visitors.

We travelled down to Kobe on the weekend and had a great time doing so. The food was prepared quickly and arrived in a timely fashion after ordering, the staff were super friendly and answered questions I had about the coffee (house blend being Outpost Coffee, a really smooth blend). For brunch I had the Eggs Benedict which saw poached eggs with streaky bacon come atop and oven bottom muffin. I'm not usually a fan of muffins like this as they can get soggy, fast. However I'm happy to say mine was toasted just right! The thick hollandaise combined with the yokes of the perfectly cooked poached eggs to make one hell of a meal. My only minor issue was with ordering our food, we were quickly seated but we werent approached by any of the many staff to order our food for what felt like ages. I noticed the second page of the menu had a QR which you can table order from. This is a great addition to the service and if I'd known existed without finding it accidentally myself, it would've sped things up a fair bit! Maybe having the QR on the front page of the menu would've been the ticket combined with being told on entry that was an option order wise? Make no mistake, we would definitely return to Kobe, the venue, the food and the people are great. The ordering process just felt a bit of an after thought.

Edit 2024: two years on, another holiday to UK and another visit. Fabulous double shot flat white and a slice of cake. Holidaying in Yorkshire, we came across Kobe whilst wandering through the village of Uppermill. With the smashed avo on the menu, and Jason Mraz on the speakers, I was taken home to Australia. The food was good and the coffee even better. Highly recommended.

really lovely spot we found whilst walking through the town for the first time. my mum, who’s usually super specific with how she has her matcha, really enjoyed the drink she got today, and my chai latte was amazing, not super sweet at all which was a relief, compared to some other coffee places food was very nice, filling and way worth the price, lots of options, enough to make all of us satisfied atmosphere was lovely, we all got way too excited when we saw the roof rolling up haha. decoration of the place was super nice too. would absolutely love to come again however we aren’t locals by any means

Delicious flat white and very good lunches. I had the avocado on toasted focaccia, and it was delicious and was a very generous portion. We sat out the back in quite a large seating area. The staff were friendly and the service was fast. Great place for lunch after a walk

I met friends here for lunch last week. I had never been before, but one of my friends is a regular. The food was good, with plenty of veggie options, and the young women serving were fantastic! I didn’t have my dog with me but several other people did, and dog-friendly indoor venues are rare and appreciated. The downsides were that parking and access are difficult, and the space is a bit echoey and loud. I’d be happy to visit again, but I won’t rush back.

Great food as usual, very full and luckily for a table. Love the artist feel to the place. Had the pork pie lunch - lovely! Update: new menu is more expensive which is a shame. Quesquidilla is £8.50 Chips is £4.25 2 of us cost £33 which is quite steep. Can't fault it though for friendly staff and good food and drinks though.

Set in the heart of Uppermill Saddleworth just off the track for the Main Street next to the church! The quality of the cakes they make is amazing a bit more expensive than I would usually pay but worth the treat ! The lay out is amazing, staff are fantastic, I asked questions & the lady new everything! Milkshake top quality , the slabs of cake very filling dare you to eat two slices ! Enjoy the pictures & take a visit your self ! Very child friendly & dog friendly!

Had a lovely visit to Diggle Lock, unfortunately was only stopping for a quick coffee (and a cookie once my attention was grabbed at the till) Coffee was lovely along with an amazing gooey cookie to go with it! The atmosphere was very nice, we visited close to closing time so was rather empty but I could tell just from the layout and design how nice of a spot this was! They had a nice log burner in the corner that was perfect for the post winter walk! Would recommend!

We tried 3 kinds of food they have and they were all quite nice. Especially impressed by their seasonal special bailey french toast in its moist texture and plenty of flavouring! Club sandwich was giant and fried chicken was seasoned well. Pancake is however not as expected as it turned out a bit too “sticky”and not fluffy enough for me. It is still a lovely place for brunch in the neighbourhood / Oldham. I think I will come visit again.
