I had the great pleasure of photographing a wedding here recently. The venue itself is simply stunning with everything being well maintained. The staff are really professional and they went above and beyond to look after me. I must make a special mention of the Wedding Planner on the day Tessa, who couldn't have been more helpful. I highly recommend Pennsylvania Castle Estate as a wedding venue.

Penn is such a unique and incredibly beautiful place and location for a wedding or an event. A little bit like the Minack Theatre in Cornwall, it is set on a cliff top and has the most spectacular views. It provides a location for an event to remember. Having done location shots for the venue, styled shoots and weddings there, we know it well. Many of the rooms are brand new, set in to the cliff face and provide your own little peaceful sea view haven. The reception rooms and patio are just beautiful, light and fresh. And the team are wonderful too. We love it and are happy to shoot there anyway. Now we just need to get invited as guests at a wedding there so that we can enjoy it all!

This was a business stay, and we had 5 nights here. I was in Half Moon and it was wonderful. Clean and immaculate, towels were fluffy, and toiletries were in full order. They even have bedroom slippers and bathrobe. We failed to use every single room in the property just because we had beautiful sunshine most of the days we're there. Everywhere is picturesque and not to mention the little walks to the beach below was great fun as well. Pool was amazing, warm and beautiful with marble pool floor. Kitchen had the best tools to whip up a good meal and the dining room is so instagramable.

Five because mum, Worked there as a waitress,weddings. In the seventies. Not the hotel. But the ramshackle disused church down a hidden away path.. Supposedly pirates. Are buried outside the sacred churchyard. Chesil being renowned for wrecking of ships. I know doubt there were pirates of some sort. If a barrel of rum turned up on your doorstep what would you do. Just recently a large container ship broke it's back. And brand new BMW motorbikes mysteriously disappeared in the thick of the night..? Free parking that's a novelty and worth taking up.

Winterborne Hire and Styling were incredible at making our day extra special. I visited their lovely show room a few months prior to our wedding. After discussing what we needed, they produced some spectacular arrangements to suit the theme for our wedding and to match our fresh flowers. They delivered them on time and installed them ready for the big day, so we did not need to lift a finger. We are so glad we went with them as the arrangements really elevated our ceremony area. Winterborne were absolutely brilliant and so helpful throughout our wedding journey. They decorated our ladders with faux plants, and the results were stunning—the photos speak for themselves. We received so many compliments, and you honestly couldn’t tell the plants were artificial. In the lead-up, the team was incredibly supportive. They ensured everything was set up quickly, allowing us to move on with the rest of the decorations without feeling rushed. They even offered additional staff to help with other decorative elements, which was such a kind gesture. We just can’t recommend Winterborne enough!

We hired Winterborne Hire & Styling for our wedding in July and honestly it was the easiest, best decision we made for our big day! Dawn was so helpful and understood our vision the entire process. She really listened and ordered in pieces we needed to really bring our colour scheme and vision to light. I can’t recommend them enough!

My husband and I were incredibly lucky to have gotten married at The White Barn in June 2024. I had followed The Farm and Field Café on Instagram for quite some time, and just loved it! When I realised there was a wedding venue at the same location, I knew I had to visit! We booked in an appointment and met the lovely Beth. She was just the most lovely human being and I loved her just as much as I loved the barn. It was the only venue we’d looked around but I didn’t need to look anywhere else, we decided there and then that this was the one and were lucky enough to book a date for the following summer. The barn itself and the grounds was just perfect for us, exactly what we wanted and more. Beth and Nat have worked incredibly hard on it and it really shows, it’s such a beautiful place. Beth was our wedding planner and was just amazing through the whole process. She was so supportive of all of our ideas and also helped us when we were struggling. She was more like a friend to us than anything else and we could not have done it without her! Myself and my bridal party stayed at the barn the night before the wedding and had a lovely Chinese before chilling out in the bridal suite. We got ready in one room next door the next morning with everything you could possibly need inside! The White Barn provided our canapes, wedding breakfast and evening food which was all absolutely delicious!! Again, nothing was too much to ask. We wanted to break from tradition a bit with the food and again Beth could not have been more accommodating. I feel extremely grateful to Beth and the whole team at The White Barn for giving us the wedding day I’ve always dreamed of. We would highly recommend the white barn as a wedding venue, we had the most amazing wedding planner who did everything he possibly could to make sure everything was perfect. Ash was always on standby and replied so quickly with any questions or concerns we had. Our wedding was bittersweet with the recent passing of my dad and ash made sure he was still a huge part of the day and was so supportive when things became emotionally difficult. The biggest thank you to Beth and her team for pulling out all the stops to making it the most incredible day for us. There was no request to little or too large and the excitement and enthusiasm Beth had for our ideas to make our day as unique as us was truly wonderful and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to be our wedding planner. Having the option of using the onsite cafe and florist for our food and flowers also made the task of organising these aspects so much easier! Holly at Frogmary Flowers was amazing- the flowers, bouquets and button holes were perfect. As for the food from Farm and Field Cafe, our guests still talk about how good it was now- 6 months on. We worked with Melanie for our wedding at Came House last year, and can honestly say she is one fantastic woman and the best wedding planner we could have hoped for. Gorwell Farm was where we chose to have our wedding this summer, and we could not have chosen a more perfect location for our special day. The cottages are spacious and comfortable for the morning-of preparation, and the barn and surrounding grounds are just idyllic. It really was the perfect space for our wedding. Mary and the team were great in the run-up to the wedding and on the day. It meant we didn't have anything to worry about. Also a shout out to the bar staff who were absolutely fantastic!

Just got back from 5 nights at Gorwell Farm and had a fabulous time. Great location for exploring, peaceful setting, well equipped and comfortable cottage (Granary). Would definitely recommend and want to go back! The children (aged 12, 10, 10, 10, 8, 6) particularly enjoyed spending time with the horses, tennis, table tennis and basketball. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We chose Gorwell for our wedding in July 2024, booking two years prior. Mary and the Team are fantastic, you can really tell that they want your big day to be a success. Mary was full of recommendations for vendors, which was amazing as it can definitely feel overwhelming. Throughout the communication was fantastic and there was no such thing as a silly question. Very interesting day out. The guides were so knowledgeable and helpful. So much to see that I will need to go back to spend more time in the fantastic gardens. Bit of a walk from the car park if your mobility is not great.

These guys were FANTASTIC! The most fun, professional team, and a wonderful addition to our wedding. The cocktails were incredible, the three bartenders were absolutely fantastic, and the bar looked perfect while running like clockwork. They added an extra layer of excitement to our celebration, and our guests couldn't stop raving about the drinks and the impeccable service. These guys are truly the best in the business! We used Cartails to provide bar service at our wedding recently. After initial conversations with Harrison, Josh took over the planning of the event and both were brilliant to work with. They clearly had a wealth of experience planning the events, and were able to offer excellent advice and ideas without us ever feeling like we were being upsold. They provided everything we asked for, going to particularly effort to make sure we could have a slushy machine serving Froze. They went above and beyond in making sure the drinks offering was exactly what we were looking for. On the day, they constructed the circular bar quickly and efficiently, and this looked fantastic in the middle of the marquee. Drinks service throughout the whole day went perfectly, with Harrison and his team managing both the main circular bar and outside horsebox bar brilliantly. The Froze was a real hit and the after dinner cocktails went down very well too. The site was left spotless at the end of the night. We would happily recommend Cartails to anyone planning their own wedding, and would love to work with them again should we have any other large events.

Harrison was incredibly efficient in the lead up to agreeing arrangements for our daughter’s wedding and the team were equally professional on the day. The bar became the centre of the post-dinner party with excellent cocktails and magnificent service. Strongly recommend.

We had lots of zoom meetings before the wedding making sure everything was exactly as we wanted, and Josh was always on hand to answer questions and change things around to make them perfect. The team were fab on the day - the guests all said how lovely the bar staff were, and the cocktails were DELICIOUS! Couldn't recommend them more.

The most perfect day at a dream venue Patrick and I had the most incredible experience getting married at Mapperton. From the moment we first visited we knew it was the perfect venue for us due to how flexible, versatile and stunning it is. Holly our amazing wedding coordinator was one of the reasons we chose the venue and is a true asset to Mapperton. She was there to take us through the whole process, being a fountain of knowledge for amazing suppliers in the South West and nothing was too big an ask. Most importantly she made sure our day ran like clockwork and we couldn't have asked for a better day. Our guests have given us so many compliments saying it is the favourite wedding they have ever been to and this is all thanks to the hard work put in by the team at Mapperton. We can't wait to pop in, take a walk around the stunning Italian gardens and visit the Mapperton family to remember our special day.

WHAT A VENUE! Having shot at venues all over Mapperton is just incredible. It has everything, and I mean everything. Multiple choices for the ceremony, STUNNING grounds, gorgeous barn. It honestly has it all. The staff are wonderful, so welcoming and really take care of their suppliers - which means they take care of their couples. It's a dream venue!

I've had the pleasure of providing bespoke wedding flowers for couples at this venue for a few years now and it's one of the most stunning venue's in the south west. Well what can I say?! Our wedding day was an absolute dream from start to finish. The team is absolutely incredible, with special shout outs to Emma for her impeccable organisation and to Andrew for his flawless service. We had several mobility challenged members of our party and they left this event feeling like they’d been treated like absolute queens! Nothing was too much trouble, they were always checking everyone was happy and often anticipated what we wanted before we had even realised! We were in super safe hands and could fully relax into the day and just enjoy it. We will forever treasure these special memories that were made possible by this incredible team of people.

We had our wedding last Saturday and I can't begin to express our gratitude to Xanthe and the team. From the moment we visited the barn we knew it was perfect for us and Xanthe has repeatedly gone above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect and stress free. From allowing so many visits to putting out fires left, right and centre throughout the day, she has been absolutely incredible. Weddings are stressful but having someone come to you with problems and immediate solutions and then just sorting it out is something we can never say thank you enough for. Thank you for everything especially nailing our ceremony music timings and having to switch on a million LED candles. You just made our day a breeze and it exceeded all expectations. This is a beautiful venue on the Symondsbury Estate. The gardens are amazing and the barn is beautiful. Lovely setting for a wedding.

Played there as DJs last night and it was a absolute pleasure. I would so recommend this Venue to anybody thinking about getting married in the near future.
