For over 30 years I’ve been a client and had numerous of horses cared for along the way by Hirds . Peter is an amazing vet, finding most issues straight away. Tim is amazing and we thank him again for all that time done for our horses. We have our riding school horses cared for the past 17 years and Hirds are professional and caring. We also use Hirds small animal in Halifax town for our other animals. Thank you to every team member as there are so many team members taking part in our horses care. Special thanks to Vet Christian for his kindness and horsemanship with Leo’s operation, Jacks tooth out , Merrylegs ear scan , and Vets Sophie & Danielle & Hannah for managing our worm counts, and all the other ailments that come along. Vet grace came out to my pony yesterday after he had a fall in the field, she gave my pony a very in depth examination the decided to X-ray,finding a fracture to my pony’s pedal bone. Grace spoke through all next steps with my pony we didnt feel rushed. Will certainly be using Grace again. I couldn’t Thankyou enough for the care given to my boy x

There is always a warm welcome and staff are really cheerful and friendly. The vet was training also on our visit and simply could not have been more professional towards us and our dogs check up and subsequent booster. Excellent service and was talking to the trainee at every part of the examination too. Very professional.

Managed to get a short notice appointment for our poorly cat. She was seen promptly and the vet was lovely with her and explained thoroughly what the problem was and what treatment was required both immediately and going forward. Very happy with the service she received

Could not rate more highly. My elderly cat was seen straight away - the receptionist was very compassionate to my obvious distress, and the vet was calm and experienced and able to treat him and clearly explain how to care for him with his medication. He is now starting to get better and I am delighted. Even if there hadn't been such a happy outcome, I feel confident they would have dealt with everything in a gentle manner and done all they could for us. Fabulous vetinary surgery!

Vets appointments can be traumatic for pets and owners but the staff always make sure everyone is comfortable. When we lost our cat they have offered as much compassion and help as they could. They truly cared for him when he was still alive and when we had to say good bye they were so professional and delicate. All the staff are always very helpful and polite. We’ve never had a problem with accommodating appointments even in emergency situation. Highly recommended vet!

Once again Abbey House didn't let me down! I've been bringing my pets here for over 30yrs & travel a round trip of 30 miles - I couldn't even think of taking my pets anywhere else! All the staff are lovely from the warm greeting at reception to the wonderful vets & last night I met one of the cleaning staff who was also lovely! Thank you for caring for our animals the way you do.

After being quoted 8-9k for several x-rays at our local vet we had franks recommend to us by a friend. Being around 50 miles from us I was a little sceptical. But after reading their great reviews and fixed pricing standards (without spending several thousand on x-ray's that probably wouldn't have found the problem!) we decided to try them out. We couldn't be more happier with how Annalisa diagnosed our dog, and how professional she was. After a well informed first meet she examined Myla and found the problem straight away (our vet's couldn't pinpoint the problem). She explained in detail that Myla had probably broke her back and would scan straight away. After a couple of hours we returned and the scan proved she was correct and explained exactly what had happened and how to treat Myla. We found Annalisa very professional and at a fraction of the price of our local vet. We cannot thank you enough for putting our minds at rest. Thank you.

My dog woke up Monday morning completely paralysed on his back end, by 9.30 am he had been referred from my regular Vets to Frank, 12nn had an appointment with the incredible specialist surgeon, 12.30 a full CT of his Spine, then straight into theatre for surgery to be back in recovery by 4. Because of the speed and expertise of the team at frank, other than sporting a reverse mowhawk on his back you wouldn't think he wasn't at peak health ! I can't thank everyone enough for the kindness and compassion they showed both my dog and me. My dog can walk again thanks to these amazing people and I could not be more greatful for everything they do. Picture of said miracle below, loving life on his pain meds x

Absolutely amazing from the start. We're at the start of our plan for Boublis but from the referral from our vet to the speedy response of frank. pet surgeons, we were reassured and welcomed. Maria investigated Bou's issues and she was straight talking but also kind, we were bowled over by her knowledge and professionalism, and she was so lovely with Bou. We went in at 8:45 and we were back to collect him at 16:30 with a treatment plan to help him. Maria and all the team were exceptional, it's such a relief to know places like this exist to help our fur babies, no hidden costs and everything fully explained before you proceed. We can't thank everyone enough!

These guys/gals are amazing , looked after bertie bear really well when he had had his accident. Aftercare was amazing too. Bertie went from a serious break to being put back together by 2 plates. All staff are so caring

A very friendly and helpful vets. They took us on when our vet in Dewsbury said they didn’t have enough vets to help us. We rang every vet in the Wakefield area to get Milly her booster and her nails cut under sedation (she won’t let anyone near her paws) and they were all full. Yorkshire Vets said they could help. Really happy with them.

Used this vets for years having dogs . Now having lost my last dogs due to old age, now have a cat 17 years old and becoming concerning. The lady vet we saw was absolutely spot on . Listened and discussed the problem which was heartwarming. The lady in question was called iris and was one of the best we have ever seen. Could have gone down the road of blood tests and xrays but at 17 years old is too much. Cats have 9 lives, maybe he's on his ninth.

I have been with Calder for the last 3 years and have had no complaints. I would definitely recommend the Calder Vets at Brighouse, it's not just a job to them, they genuinely care for you and your pets. Bruno, my dog used to hate the vet, but is more calmer now since Joel, the vet has started to see him with his yearly check ups. He also did a good job with a tumour removal on his leg. All of the other staff took good care of him during and after surgery. This is why I won't go anywhere else. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. A brilliant practice. My dog Trey used to come for a Monthly injection for his Arthritis. He is an anxious dog when it comes to the vets and we struggled each time the injection came around. Joel went above and beyond to learn how Trey acts & reacts and gave him all the attention he needed to calm him. Joel fully understands that Trey needs extra care due to his anxiety and goes out of his way to make him comfortable. Joel is an amazing Vet who deserves a lot of credit, I am always at ease when visiting Calder vets because of him. The reception staff are so lovely each time we visit also!

Finally the day came after 14 years our beautiful dog Lexie had to go to her final resting place. She was part of our family so it was very painful. However, Amanda and all the team could not have been more compassionate, caring and professional. We weren't rushed at all, nothing was too much. Lexie passed away so peacefully. Amanda was brilliant in explaining everything before we made our decision. We cannot thank them enough and have no hesitation in recommending this practice in Brighouse to anyone. Most staff are very friendly and helpful. Vast assortment of animals products and feeds.Also has a dog grooming and vets. We adopted 4 guinea pigs from here and they've flourished. Would recommend but can be expensive.So I tend to shop home bargains, Wilko for my animal products. If your wanting vet plan feeds then this is the place.

Took my puppy here for her first vaccines and definitely made the right decision. Signed up for the vet plan which is such a good idea and so reassuring. Cant thank the staff enough, so lovely to me and offering advise with what I need as an essential as it’s my first puppy. And they all fussed her so she’ll definitely never be scared of the vets!! Lovely people working there!

Where do I start amazing the lovely vet that we had seen with Daisy was fabulous and made us feel at ease and made Daisy feel very relaxed as she is an old nervous girl but she has now started eating and drink after a very stressful 8 days I called the out of hour vets last night and spoke to the vet that looked after Daisy and I just thanked her for her help and Daisy is now on the mend ❤️‍🩹 so so grateful for your time and knowledge and support and understanding Thank you !!!
