At the end of each day we were given a summary of works completed and resume of next days work. Price paid was the price agreed, no hidden costs. Decided to have the house and garage roof replaced. PW Contractors recommended by neighbour Pat contacted to do survey and provide quote. He arrived at the agreed time and provided a concise clear description of the work required. This was followed 48 hours later with a very detailed comprehensive written quote. I had tried to contact a few roofers by word of mouth and most didn’t turn up. I knew it would be an expensive job and it’s daunting spending that kind of money so you want someone you can trust. I put the add on checkatrade and I saw PW Contractors had good reviews and pictures on their page. Pat was one of the first to contact me to arrange to come and take a look at the roof. He turned up when he said he would do and knew exactly what he was talking about. No hard sell on anything, I told him what I wanted and he explained what they could do in detail. Decided to hire PW Contractors for the job. Pat gave me a lead time and it was pretty much bang on the date when they turned up to install the scaffold. They arranged the lot including skip hire and clean up and didn’t need anyone in to crack on with the work. Weather knocked them back by a day but the next day to make up for it the lads arrived at 8 and grafted till 6. They turned up in sign written vehicles and clothes with the company details. Landline telephone number and company address there for all to see. Pat took pictures of the job as they went along so I could see what they had done. These lads aren’t cowboys and they have nothing to hide. Didn’t ask for any money until the job was complete and the price they quoted was the price I paid, no added extra. Full quotation supplied by email or letter and invoice and 10 year guarantee provided on final settlement of work done. I had the full roof off, membrane and new treated batons installed, chimney repointed and new flashing installed. New dry ride system, facias, soffits and gutters. The old slate was relaid and any damaged or fragile slates replaced entirely. PW Contractors did all this in just under 4 days.
