What a hidden gem of a restaurant. The decor, ambience, and service were fabulous. The food was some of the best Italian I've tasted, and I lived in Italy for a year. It will become one of our regular restaurants. Can not rate everything highly enough. Thank you.

my husband and I went there for lunch. The restaurant was cosy and well decorated. The lady served us was friendly and attentive. We ordered three course set lunch. The appetisers are average. The mains are good, especially the penne was full of taste of salmon. However, the dessert made me disappointed …… I believe the tiramisu was cut from the ready made cake from supermarket.

Arrived at a rather difficult time with a rugby game in progress so the pub was full. However we managed to find a big table on the upper floor. As a foreigner who hasnt visited many English pubs I mus say I liked the atmosphere. Food was OK but not special, best choice was the beef rib. Gammon steak was interesting but very salty and not tastier than Smoked ham (although looked a lot like it). Burger OK. I liked the sweet potato tiger fries. I believe the place would be even better in the summer when sitting outside by the lake,

Had an absolutely lovely Sunday Roast to celebrate our son's 1st birthday. Food was great (top notch mushroom Wellington) but it was the stand out service that made the meal for us. Really lovely lady served, us, made us feel welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

Great roast on Easter but gravy could have had more flavour and roast potatoes unfortunately did not taste fresh but other than that it was good! :)

Great pub with a lively atmosphere and a fantastic beer selection. Perfect spot to relax with friends or try something new on tap. Friendly staff and cozy vibes make it a go-to for any night out.

Popped in on off chance and happily landed on our feet. Served by 2 barmaids,gentile friendly service from one and blunt direct from other. All good, service with a smile throughout. Not a huge choice of dishes but what we had was very good,very flavorsome and plentiful... Prices good,alcohol pricey though. Recommended . Was quiet in numbers but a small vocal group with kids made up for it with noise and atmosphere!.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with family. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful! In terms of COVID-19 precautions, there were no screens at the bar but there was a lot of opportunity to access hand sanitiser. We ate outside as it was a nice day and tables were spaced well apart. Condiments were brand new to us and had not been used by others. Staff were, however, not wearing face masks at any point during service which was disappointing. The roasts we ordered were gorgeous - nice big portions, and came with lots of veg. Extra yorkies were 50p each; whilst cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets were £3.50 each. Lots of drinks options on tap, and all reasonably priced. Whilst there is no dedicated app for ordering online; there is a web-app / website which gave current availability of menu options (which was very welcome!). Overall, a very nice meal and definitely somewhere we would choose to eat again.

We were served by Karolina S who was extremely attentive and made the meal one not only delicious but also memorable!

We had a wonderful time at Ask Italian Epsom. The food was flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Hulya, our server was awesome. She was so patient and helpful, helping us with the menu and taking our order, making sure everything was done correctly. Our food was served fairly quickly and they staff were very attentive to our needs throughout the night. We will definitely be back again for another Christmas meal before Christmas! Thank you so much Hulya, you are a star!

Thhis place is fine. My only feeling was it felt a little like a production line type restaurant. Its not so cosy as most places and that matters to set the scene. But this was fine with me as it was an a last minute stop and needed to be quick which it was. The food was good and service, quick and friendly. I would have give it 5 stars if the mushroom risotto had more taste. I have had very good ones and this was middle of the spectrum in ratings.

We came for our christmas party and the food was delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service was fast. I will definitely come back.

The service was nice and quick. The front of house was very welcoming. There was a small gap between starters and mains so we had a larger gap between mains and dessert. All the martinis were delicious and there was a large choice of alcohols as well as a large wine menu. There was not a specific vegetarian menu but all the options were available.

Lovely place with aesthetically pleasing entrance. Classy with nice touches. Staff are lovely. Sunday roast lunch was nice, could have done with more flavour than it would have been full stars.

I had lunch from the festive menu. I thought that the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The food was delicious. I only have one issue that I think could be improved on. The vegetables were a little undercooked for my liking. Apart from that everything was spot on. I have been twice now and I will be back.

The food was delicious...I had the pork with scallops..we didn't pre book so ate in the pub which was beautiful...dogs are allowed..the outside seating was lovely but unfortunately the weather wasn't. I think it will be lovely outside on a sunny day but would advise booking in advance. We ordered at the bar service was good we didn't wait long for the food.

Regular customer for many many years. My whole family all love the dishes from edamame to rolls. This is the best sushi place in the area. I am a sushi lover and have tried so many others even in Asia but Makiyaki is one of the best for rolls. They have varieties, good quality and good value, that is why I keep going back. Definitely recommended! Must try rolls!

On the contrary to some of the other reviews.. Where do I start? I have so many good points to make about this place. I used to go for lunch here with my baby daughter (materinity leave) in 2015 and back then I was so impressed by the freshness, the portions, the cleanliness and Jay (the owner, down to earth and warming service skills). It's always very quiet and clean so this automatically gives you a nice ambience. Fast forward to now, whilst most establishments have gone downhill after covid, Makiyaki went up several levels. They updated the decor (gorgeous), their crockery is very up market and their sauces that are drizzled over the sushi is fantastic. Jay the owner is extremely humble and polite and is a great chef and puts his all into everything his does. Alongside him, his wife also runs the restaurant. She is very efficient and conscientious about every detail. It's nice to see a restaurant go from strength to strength and their dishes are worth every penny. Recommendations are: scallop Volcano, scallop crunch, Gyoza (very fresh), England, Spider and kingston roll. I have lots of other favorites but the new addition is their pancake desert. Wow.. Thank you for always delivering an excellent experience and of course we shall be back.

I’ve genuinely been raving about this restaurant to all of my friends and I finally got to go again, it’s very quickly becoming my favourite restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, affordable and clearly very authentic, the staff are very polite and appreciative of your patronage, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated — I will definitely be going again when I get the chance.

Favourite sushi place we've been going to for nearly a decade! Their lunch offer was great value and have wide sushi selection for everyone to enjoy on their menu! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Their ice cream tempura is my all time favourite dessert and a must try! Can't recommend this cozy restaurant enough!

What a great pub/restaurant!! Honestly one of The best Xmas roasts I have ever had in a pub. Well worth every penny!! Fantastic service, dedicated waiter that introduced himself by name and was always very helpful. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you to all the team!

I booked the private dining room along with 11 friends and we were extremely well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a really wonderful time. I had provided our Xmas menu choices and they arrived, beautifully presented and in good time. The starters were perfect, the mains tasty, my only gripe were the roast potatoes which were small and over cooked. All the varied desserts were delicious. A really lovely time in a newly decorated venue with terrific staff, thank you very much!

Fantastic food and great new refurbished gastro pub. Varied menu to suit all, presentation perfect and all served by courteous and engaged staff. Great service from Eoin, Charlie and the team - always made to feel welcome and overall a very well run establishment.

Caballo Lounge is one of our absolute favourite places to visit. Guaranteed great food. The team are so lovely, friendly and helpful. We regularly visit, and have enjoyed meals from their brunch, lunch and dinner menus. Caballo Lounge has fantastic tapas too. Great for sharing. On this occasion, we had brunch - my favourite - I had the Miami Brunch and my son had Triple Stacked Buttermilk Pancakes and a milkshake. Thank you to everyone at Caballo Lounge for always looking after us.

At these prices, DIY ordering and servicing the food better be good! And it's great! But feels weird paying for service when it's get your own water and order in app

Lovely decor and atmosphere, quiet and chill, which was perfect for our breakfast date with my wife and baby. Our server was very nice (sorry, I didn't ask your name!). I had the shakshuka which was fantastic, and my wife had the lounge eggs, which were great too. High chair was provided and enough space for the pram. Will definitely come back for breakfast again.

Epsom & Banstead residents!! we are blessed to have such a special restaurant on our door step, no need to travel into London where you will not find any better food I assure you. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 38 years, which includes running 6 Michelin star restaurants. I feel so lucky to live with in walking distance of Le Raj. The ‘Bengali’ cuisine is outstanding, their Chef is seriously talented and so consistent weather you dine in or have a take away. Jeff, the owner and front man, is a true professional, recognizing by name all his regular clients and their favorite dishes. We have frequented this restaurant for many a family celebration and will continue to do so as long as Jeff and his amazing team are there.

My husband and I came here for a date night and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and staff were so helpful and friendly. Definitely the best Indian I have been too.

More of a formal Indian restaurant with nice old world charm, very friendly attentive staff, clean and pleasant. My partner enjoyed her cocktail in particular which was quite well done certainly for a restaurant setting. Nice crispy fresh poppadoms and good quality chutneys, raita and pickles. Skipped starters as decided to have multiple sides for main course. Partner vegetarian so she went for a vegetable based curry, medium which she enjoyed, along with an aloo kobi(cauliflower and potatoes) a spiced pumpkin dish(Lau Bhajee) and an okra dish (Bhindi Bhajee), for myself I went with a Beef Vindaloo which used a Naga chilli. The beef was slow cooked although not quite so tender as I had expected and the heat level was far more towards a medium but enjoyable and well balanced. The coconut rice was a bit wet, water still at the bottom of the bowls served in and tasted fine but packed any punch of coconut. The naans were nice, slight crisp outer with fluffy inside, drizzled with ghee, I went with the coconut version which again tasty although drizzled with honey and made for a very sticky affair b with no finger bowl provided (when asked though the team went above and beyond to provide a large bowl with small lemon pieces and warm water, however am surprised this wasn't a standard affair as am sure others must hit the same issue). After dinner they do provide a nice warm mini towel which was a nice touch. Prices towards the higher side(but not extortionate) which was expected, the quality and service justified. Nice theatrical presentation of an after dinner chocolate and Turkish delight a bowl surrounded with a little dry ice which the server pours hot water over to give a lovely smokey visual spectacle Portions were of a decent size, a reasonable and sensible size. We did end up taking a little of my partners curry and a small amount of sides home and were full. Unfortunately resulting in us not trying any dessert which there was a reasonable selection for an Indian restaurant and a good selection of after dinner alcoholic drinks, coffees and teas. One dessert option that particularly intrigued was 'a can't decide' option whereby for a price that was lower than the other options the team would choose for you, no doubt a selection that they had higher amounts of or short shelf life left but a clever god value option that for sure we'll try next time. Adorned to the walls at the entrance are various photos of celebrities that have enjoyed the restaurant, a bit of fun to browse at the end of a lovely evening. Discretionary service added to the bill at 10% which was reasonable so was happy to round the bill up to closer to 15% after an enjoyable service and evening.
