Sam fitted 11 very tricky internal doors as all were different sizes and needed trimming down. Extremely reliable, decently priced and did a great job when we kept getting let down by other joiners.

I contacted Sam with the possibility of turning a very small alcove in my lounge to an office area with shelving, pull out desk and doors in which you could close it off when not in use. He understood exactly what I wanted and has built the most amazing, solid desk and shelving units. It looks so much better than I thought possible. Sam was quick and efficient. This is a fantastic course for anyone looking to get their first woodworking experience. Rather than working in a large workshop that you can never imagine in your own garden, Jake's course is in his personal workshop and it makes you feel like you could get there too one day. If you want to understand the first principles of taking a piece of wood and transforming it into something stylish and elegant, then this is for you. It is 1:1 so you can learn as fast or as slow as you like. It isn't all handtools and traditional approaches so if, like me, you want to make the most from tools and machinery then Jake will show you how to, both safely and efficiently. Jake is enthusiastic and encouraging as well as being a great person to talk to. I cannot recommend this course enough, it is fantastic and I am so glad I found it. Alex D

We needed some shelving units and cupboards putting up in our lounge, and someone had let us down just before Christmas. Jake was recommended to us, and we couldn't have been more accommodating and well skilled. He came over within a couple of days of contacting him, and did a superb job before the Christmas socialising began. He really listened to what we needed and it was a perfect job. I had a fantastic day ... and with zero experience I came away with a bowl (and a lid)! I'd not have thought it possible from a standing start and it is entirely down to Jake. He is a great tutor and provided the perfect mix of direction, encouragement, fun and technical info. It's a brilliant hands on course and I can definitely and wholeheartedly recommend it!

Doug has created 3 bespoke kitchens at different properties over the last 10 years. Each project has been designed,fitted and finished (using traditional wooodworking skills) to an excellent high standard,at an excellent price He goes the extra mile to make sure you have what you wish for but with all his experience he brings fantastic and practical ideas.I would not hesitate to recommend him for any individual,bespoke or quirky project that requires a traditional skilled CRAFTSMEN.

Doug installed new sliding sash windows into our Victorian house. They were so beautifully and expertly fitted with incredible attention to detail, that I fell back in love with the house and no longer have thoughts of moving. Doug has done quite a few jobs for us over the last 30 years or so including a loft conversion, book cases, new kitchen and fitted bedroom units to name but a few. All have been done to the highest possible standard and I have no hesitation in recommending him apart from it may make it harder for us to to get him for anymore work we need doing.

Doug has been recommended to us and what a breath of fresh air he is! He is lovely to deal with, friendly and approachable. His work is exemplary. His attention to detail is phenomenal and it is so refreshing to meet a contractor who arrives on time, who doesn't want to eat his lunch until he feels he's reached a "suitable cut off point" and who would stay late and get it right rather than rush his work and have to compromise on the finish. Doug is currently making a replica Victorian front door and frame for us which has a lot of detail and will have stained glass panels. It was good to be able to discuss different ideas and designs and we are very excited to see the finished article. He is a "craftsman" in the true sense of the word and his rates are extremely reasonable given his expertise and the quality of his work. We really cannot recommend him highly enough. We really don't know how to thank Mike. Giving a 5* review just doesn't seem enough. Mike did work on our staircase few yrs ago & he was so meticulous, we said we would NEVER look for another joiner. We decided to have a new kitchen a good while ago, but due to his backlog of work due to the Pandemic we were happy to wait, not once, did we think about finding a different joiner. We're SO happy we waited. He's come up with a few tips & ideas to give us more space, which the kitchen company who planned the kitchen didn't. He came up with a great idea to make the hob area a feature- it looks fantastic! He has gone above & beyond our expectations. We have had our internal doors changed, Mike did an amazing job and worked tirelessly for two days. He was very professional and knowledgeable and we couldn't be happier with his work. He turned up when he said he would and was punctual. We totally recommend his services.

Contacted Mike to provide a quote for some internal wooden doors. He came down and measured up and gave us a trade book to look through. Really nice guy, very knowledgeable and professional. He gave us a quote which was really well priced. He fitted us in after a few weeks later and got 6 internal doors fitted along with hinges, locks and handles. He completed the job whilst we were in work so he is very trustworthy. The work was completed to a very high standard. He is very tidy and took time to clean up. So good, we've had him twice!! A good tradesman is hard to find when it comes to knowledge, capability, enthusiasm for the job, and value for money. Mike delivers on all these areas, and discusses each stage of the project to deliver (in my experience) beyond what you would expect. I have had Mike in my house twice this year. Once on a major refurbishment project, which transformed the core section of the house : Hallway / Stairs / Landing, and included : completely replacing the front door and frame, entirely replacing the banister, constructing an under stairs storage area, lowering and insulating the landing ceiling, and replacing most of the doors & frames in the house, plus fitting all the skirting boards. We planned to sell, but feel so at home that we asked Mike back to remodel our third bedroom, which involved constructing a loft bed in a very confined space, which now feels spacious! If you want someone to turn your vision into reality, without breaking the bank, look no further.

We had an excellent experience with Old Tom's Workshop, for a bespoke table extension. Tasked with the challenge of extending a solid oak live edge dining table, Gyles delivered a stunning piece that perfectly complements the existing table. Gyles was both patient and professional throughout the process. He skillfully used a more affordable wood veneer, while seamlessly edging it in real oak to maintain the live edge look. The result is a beautiful table extension crafted to the highest standards, all at an affordable price. Highly recommended!

Kevin has just finished fitting new kitchen worktops and worktop lighting for me and I can’t recommend him enough. From start to finish he couldn’t have been more helpful and is so easy to communicate with. Mine was not an easy job but he managed to solve any problem that came up and discussed solutions with me along the way. The finished result is perfect as he works to a very high standard. His price was very reasonable and I could not be more delighted. I have no hesitation in recommending him to friends, family and colleagues. I won’t be going anywhere else for future work. Kev has done a few jobs for me now - a full kitchen rip out and new one installed, joinery work including new door frames and doors. He's also done some other smaller jobs for me, as I'm useless at DIY. Kev is the first man I call now - friendly and professional service! I highly recommend!

Kevin did a great job in fitting new kitchen work tops, new sink, gas hob and extractor. His tiling above the work tops just finished off a great a job that transformed my kitchen to look like new again. Price was competitive and work clean and tidy. I would certainly use his services again.

Mark has been nothing short of a lifesaver over the last year. I first contacted Mark to fix creaky stairs. A quote I had from someone else was over the top and over zealous. Mark came and gave a reasonable quote along with immediate reassurance. He came and silenced the noisy stairs and so I asked him to supply and fit new internal doors. Also perfect job. Following renovation works I had competed by a builder who turned out to be cowboys, I contacted Mark to complete the carpentry works. I didn’t need to say much and immediately he knew exactly what I needed/wanted. He fitted under stairs doors and shoe drawers, pocket doors, sliding doors and all the skirting boards. I’m kind of gutted that I don’t have more jobs for Mark to do as he’s genuinely a nice guy and immaculate with his work.

Extremely pleased with everything done by Mark. First class work fitting new kitchen cabinets and worktops. He made another bespoke cabinet to match. He fitted a water heater and sink with their associated plumbing. Refitted washing machine and dishwasher. Considerable care was taken to ensure everything aligned; including fitting the worktops against an uneven wall. Coordinated and arranged for an electrician to install new power cables. Everything done was to the highest standards. A reliable, honest, pleasant and very hard working kitchen fitter. Highly recommended.

Mark did a fantastic job from start to finish. He coordinated everything I needed to make my kitchen perfect. He gave great advice, kept in regular touch, turned up on time. He sorted out glitches with bits of the kitchen that needed replacement (the kitchen company’s fault not his) and was really professional. I now have the kitchen I’ve always wanted.
