I needed my rear brake pads and discs doing and at very short notice they managed to fit me in to their already busy day which was amazing. Can’t fault their service and friendly staff. Very trustworthy garage, wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Absolutely incredible. All I can say is this garage in Wigan is amazing and extremely honest. So glad I read the reviews. We passed them one of our customers cars who broke down in a volvo c70 just after new years day...and was given 13th Jan 2025 for an inspection every garage was booked or closed , I was worried as we are not from wigan which garage to send the customers car too ...Athertons was recommended to us ..and Athertons gave me details of a reliable recovery chap the car was collected on same day for a reasonable amount and it was delivered to John Athertons garage , they took time to look at it on same day and repaired it ...the lady at reception was so professional made me feel at ease and John asked me what was wrong with the car and sounded very honest and sincere. What could have ended a drama ended in a great result..fact they looked at it on the same day was appreciated. Very reasonable on charges. The staff are friendly and very professional. Arrived today with an engine fault after replacement timing belt by main dealer. The fault was diagnosed and resolved without charge. Which is customer service of the highest standard. You can be sure I'll be back for MoTs and service again.

I’ve been using this garage now for over 4 years. Having multiple cars, this garage has been a godsend when it comes to MOT time. I’ve never found them anything but honest and down to earth. Something which is hard to find from a garage in the local area. If there’s anything my cars need or if it comes down to testing I won’t even bother looking elsewhere, sometimes I’ve found they have busy periods but clearly this is down to the quality level of work and service and is to be expected and in these cases well worth the wait.

The receptionist at Acton Garage went above and beyond to help me out when I needed an M8 drill bit to fix my boot latch. I couldn't pop out to grab the M8 drill bit due to my crazy NHS rota at WWL Trust, but the receptionist at Acton Garage came to the rescue! They found the bit and let me use it without any charge. Exceptional service from Acton Garage, especially that receptionist who truly understands the value of helping others in need.

First time customer and was very impressed with the service I was given. Failed MOT at a nearby garage that couldn't fit me in to fix the exhaust which was the cause of the failure within the 10 day free retest period. I came here expecting to be told they were too busy at short notice. Within 5mins I was given an agreeable price for the work to be carried out that day and had the car back within the next few hours. It was cheaper than quoted too as some parts weren't needed. Brilliant service and very friendly staff. Well recommend.

Andy and his team were quick and efficient in sorting out my tyre that has burst. My car was about a mile away from the garage and they very kindly let us borrow the tools to get the tyre off! Great service and will definitely be back again!

Took my car and my bike into PB MOT garage in Wigan, I have to say that the gent who did my MOT’s “Alan” was an extremely nice bloke, had a good chat with him. Very helpful and informative. Certainly knew what he was talking about.. Once my MOT’s were completed Alan gave me some advice regarding my car and my bike. Top man, I will advise my family and friends to use his services. I will certainly go back and use PB MOT centre again.

Went down without an appointment on Christmas Eve to get my car checked after someone had bumped into it. One of the 2 gentleman there invited me to have a coffee while the younger gentleman checked the car to make sure it was roadworthy . He confirmed the car was roadworthy. When I asked the cost he said no charge &wished me merry Christmas. What a lovely Christmas present. Made my day.

Called here off chance aprox 18 months ago as Id had a bad experience elsewhere both with the works carried out and the price. Brilliant service, friendly staff, very helpful both over the phone and in person and most importantly very reasonable on price ! I would not now go anywhere else but here and would highly recommend.
