Best coffee in Newbury. Great beans and a La Marzocco machine with baristas that are properly trained. The pastries and bread are locally sourced and fantastic too!

Ordered a Flat white. It was small in volume but a really great cup of coffee. Service was quick and friendly. The place is tiny, A good attempt has been made to make the most of the space with a small shelf 'coffee bar' and also.e stools. The coffee machine is worth a mention. A beautiful, baby blue machine that makes you consider the possibility of installing one at home, but then work out that it would take up all your work space...

Popped in to here to grab a coffee as I do prefer to give these smaller outlets a shot and this did not disappoint. The staff member was lovely and chatty the flat white was spot on and the food...... Amazing. Had a sausage roll that was warm, meaty with flaky pastry. The carrot cake was epic. The selection of bread and cakes was brilliant. If I'm near here again I will definitely seek them out again if I'm here.

Amazing cakes from The Street Bakeshop, based in Old Basing. Friendly staff. No real seats inside but a small bench outside.

We found this place by chance when trying to get somewhere that met half way between our friend group. What a great find! We had lots of dietary requirements for our afternoon tea and they were really accommodating. Lovely atmosphere and staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back again ☺️

Lovely place by the canal, with picturesque views and aesthetic interior. The tea sevice is delicious and well worth it. Sweet, but sometimes you want that! Makes a good chai too.

The most gorgeous cafe right on the river! I’ve been there sooo many times and every time the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff are brilliant with gluten free too - lots of choice and super tasty! In fact, I went for afternoon tea and they produced an ENTIRELY gluten free platter, of which everything was home made! Absolutely love it here, thanks so much! Xx

My favourite place in Newbury to have a relaxing cup of tea by the canal. Particularly if the sun is out. Breakfast is fabulous too. Everything cooked fresh to order. Lovely staff too. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Went to this cafe this morning to try their vegan breakfast and was not disappointed!! We went for the small breakfast with tea and it wuz all yummy!! Staff are so friendly and it's great to find a local cafe that has such a big range of vegan options!! (They also do cakes and milkshakes and much more so check them out if you're vegan!!) Will definitely return!!

Skip the high st coffee chains and give your money to this local independent cafe. Owner James and his staff are lovely, snacks, cakes and food is freshly cooked on site (try their scones and baked potatoes!), at great prices. A classic cafe and tea room. Love this place.

First time at Kiki's cafe today. Had a veggie breakfast. Perfect. Absolutely delicious. Lovely cup of tea too. The people who run the cafe are helpful and friendly. They have sanitiser and social distancing on place. I would highly recommend this cafe.

A traditional "greasy spoon" cafe. Nice food, quick and friendly service. Everything you want when having a fry up. Will definitely visit again as you know what you are going to get and at a good price.

Heading early to airport and needed something to eat. Two fried breakfasts later and two happy customers! Awesome food and friendly smiles...on a Sunday morning! Cracking find, google you did well finding this little gem.

Fun, happy staff made our visit. Going out of their way to help in a relaxed and always cheery, genuine way. And that is the main take-away from our visit. Beautiful location with views and walks. Really great breakfast with a big range of cooked options, great coffee, a real treat. Hoping to hold a big birthday weekend here, because I know the owners, manager, staff, chef would all want it to be great. Great work James, Eve and Josh please keep it up. Food was absolutely delicious I personally had the mackerel pate to start really nice very generous with the pate really really nice. Then I had the sirloin steak and that really was amazing and personally I love rump but this was soo good perfect portion peppercorn sauce was banging. Sticky toffee pudding with custard too finish perfect pudding to end a lovely evening. The pub is really inviting lovely inside not too modern but lovely and comfortable inside. Staff are very polite and attentive. The pub is so perfect for every occasion. I must say all the food I saw coming out the kitchen looked absolutely delicious. You could tell it was freshly prepared and the meat was quality. Big burgers, tasty looking fish and chips the bervette steak looked really good I'll certainly be coming back. Thank you all for such a great evening really impressed 5*

My partner and I, and our two dogs, came to stay while visiting family in Newbury. We were only going to be using the room as a base, to then spend a weekend seeing my parents and walking the dogs, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we ended up extending our stay and spending 5 days pretty much confined to the Carpenters Arms. This, however, was in no way a hardship! The room was ideal for our needs, with the usual TV, Kettle, ironing board etc. it had a large ensuite, spacious shower cubicle, luxurious bed and French doors opening out to a view of the large pub garden. This gave us easy access to a space for feeding, training and entertaining the dogs, as well as access to our car. The location is in a beautiful village, with quick and easy access to major road networks and the local town, but in the countryside enough for you to enjoy wildlife during the day and dark starry nights. The complimentary breakfast quality and selection exceeded our expectations, and the lunch&dinner services were equally impressive with the quality and presentation. Of particular note were the specials, with their pies being made fresh daily in house! There is a small, dedicated team, who were endlessly kind and helpful, with hands-on owners who you will see working hard wherever and whenever they need to making sure their high standards are maintained. We have travelled a lot with our dogs, and have stayed in a variety of very nice places up&down the country. James&Alex and their team far exceeded every expectation in their quality of service, friendliness and care during a very difficult time for us. They have raised the bar, and set a new standard that I do not expect to be matched by any other establishment for a very very long time. I cannot wait to visit again, thank you!

We had a lovely evening here, it was fun to celebrate a family members birthday. We were quite early on in the evening so were able to make the most of the happy hour. The service was very quick and the staff were very friendly. We had a number of different dishes between us and were impressed with the portion sizes. An ideal location for a casual evening out with family and friends. Food is well priced for what it is.

Amazing vegan breakfast ("The Plant Plate"). Had never had the "Ogg" eggs before; was afraid they'd be too much like chicken eggs. They were light and fluffy and delicious with the Sriracha sauce provided, and not "eggy" at all. Everything else was equally tasty, if more familiar. We both ordered the same thing, and loved every bite. Wish I could give more than 5 stars for the food. Service was fast and friendly. Go there!

Very nice staff team, service was swift. Food very tasty. Perhaps a little badly laid out and table seemed too low for chair height but still charming enough.

The food is really outstanding! Every meal we had was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Hands down, some of the most delicious food I've eaten lately! The staff are very friendly and make the environment even more pleasant. The decor is amazing, it makes me want to be there all day.

Stopped for a coffee and a snack. Chose the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. The pancakes are made to order. Delicious.. Hubby had a bacon barm which he said he enjoyed. Coffee was also good. A nice little visit. Prices very reasonable. Worth a visit.

We visited here today for lunch and it was so lovely. We used to have a caravan on a site close by and haven’t been back for serval years. Last time we were here it was an order at the bar, crab sandwich situation. It’s now a table service eating spot with super friendly and helpful staff with the perfect food for a beach walk pit stop. The interior is warm, pretty and comfortable and possibly the best loos around! My fussy eater 10 year old was in heaven with his bacon bap , so much bacon! and the bucket of chips is a perfect share for 4. Can’t wait to visit again to try some of the bigger dishes. It’s also dog friendly , which was a great bonus. Well done everyone in making our visit a great time .

Great place to stop off at, we had a great walk along the beach with our dogs then stopped off for some food. Quick service and lovely food, will be dropping by again. Amazing location on a lovely sunny late October day.
