We spent the weekend in Selling with our Goldendoodle Bertie. Our Airbnb host recommended the pub for food. I am so grateful. The food was excellent. We were in there both Friday and Saturday night. The staff and locals were friendly and welcoming. We felt very comfortable, especially having our dog with us. The first night I had the lamb chop which was cooked beautifully followed by Tirimusu. My husband is a vegetarian and had the veg burger. He had no complaints whatsoever. On the Saturday, again we were welcomed and there was a different waitress working, who again was very attentive. I had steak and kidney pudding and my husband had a vegetarian pizza. They did provide other vegetarian food but he was tempted by the pizzas the night before. He wasn’t disappointed. This is a lovely country pub in a beautiful location with lovely owners/staff and the food is very good. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this pub to anyone. I would travel the hour and a half it took us, just to go back there. Thank you all at the White Lion.

First time visiting the White Lion and we were all very impressed. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff. We had a room just down from the main bar that was exclusively ours and was perfect for our group. The garden is also a lovely area, and we would have been happy to be seated out there. A great venue, both inside and out. All our food was excellent and cooked to a high standards - only praise all round from us all. We'd definitely return and recommend.

booked tonight for our anniversary. so glad we did wasn't disappointed at all. a beautiful country pub with a great atmosphere. staff were friendly and attentive from the start. I had calamari which just melted in the mouth and my husband had the crab cakes, equally amazing. we both had rack of lamb as a main and omg the flavour was fantastic. we couldn't fit in pudding which was a shame because they looked tasty. Will most definitely recommend and be back again. we'll done to all team.

Excellent pub near my parents' house in Selling. Great selection of beers and the food is fab too. Friendly staff and owner. Highly recommended if you are a local or a visitor to the area.

A great pub, lots of indoor and outdoor spaces. The road is not very busy so it's a great place to sit out and relax. Friendly staff. Good range of options for food, which both the burger and baguette we had were very tasty and good quality. Highly recommended if you are in the area or like us go out for a walk and head there for a pint and lunch.
