Welcoming and fantastic food after a morning out walking,. The vegan moussaka was amazing. Highly recommend this pub and its friendly staff and excellent service. Will be back to dine without hesitation.

I’ve been to this place a few times now, when flying to and from Gatwick Airport. I’ve always been impressed by the staffs politeness and courtesy, going that extra mile. They are very dog friendly with treats at the bar, and water bowls provided. There has been a hansom, well behaved, and affectionate Australian kelpie dog there on a few of my visits. The rooms are reasonably priced have been consistently clean, tidy and comfortable during my stay. I would not hesitate to recommend The Plough Inn to any other traveller or patron.

Went for lunch after a walk in the area. Parking is easy to find and they have their own car park which is nice. The service was good and the food came out relatively promptly. There are some vegetarian options though the choice may be limited depending on your preferences. The burger was a fake meat type which was generously served but the quality of the patty fell a bit short considering the price. A bean based vegetarian burger would be much more popular in my opinion! The prices are quite expensive for the food but the portions are also huge (maybe a bit too big). Reducing both would make this a 5 star review.

Denbies Wine Estate

Really lovely tour. The train car ride was my favourite bit. The views were STUNNING. The only reason I’m not giving full 5 stars is because I did not enjoy the wine tasting. It felt incredibly rushed and we only tasted 3 wines, all of which were similar, I would have liked a bit more variety. As well as it felt like everything EXCEPT wine was being promoted. Really beautiful place though Lunch was AMAZING
Rating: 5 / 5
I would highly recommend the Wine tasting and cellar tour. Very informative and great to learn the history of the estate. The food in the Gallery Restaurant was exceptional with stunning views and first class service by our server Chloe.

We recently visited the Denbies Wine Estate and had a lovely time! The vineyard was beautifully decorated, creating a festive atmosphere that our kids absolutely loved. They especially enjoyed the train ride and meeting Santa Claus and Elves.
Rating: 5 / 5
Stunning place and views! We’ve done the wine tour twice now, with the fizz glass included and I highly recommend it. We’re so lucky to have this just 30min drive from us. Love the little organic food shop and always get cheese and bread to bring home. Delicious!

Nice pub and proper drinkers pub. Never eaten but I'm not paying 18 odd quid for a burger and chips. Cracking pint of Cruzcampo for £5.70. Much cheaper then the Star and a much nicer atmosphere

Normally stop over when on my motorbike for sneaky bikers half or two. Chilled place to sit outside watching the world go by. Place has a good vibe about it. Update...still a good chill place to have a sneaky half. All you bikers, place sits on the way down from Newlands cafe.

Stopped here after walking down from Polesdon Lacey, wasn’t expecting to be able to easily find anything gluten free in the local area but GF options clearly marked on the menu (including a crumble for pudding!) and staff were happy to check with the kitchen about cross contamination, super helpful and a yummy lunch!

Arrived quite spontaneously and the staff were really helpful and set up a table for 8 of us. The food was great quality and reasonably priced. Parking in the car park behind. A good find.

Went for lunch and absolutely loved it. From first greeting the staff were great, the room was warm and comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and quality ingredients, way above normal pub food standards. I would highly recommend the Guinea fowl starter and the pheasant main. All cooked to perfection. Sadly we were too full to have dessert but the ones I saw looked amazing so next time I won’t have a starter!
Rating: 5 / 5
What a fabulous hotel, bar and restaurant! The rooms are beautifully decorated, a great size and extremely comfortable. The bar is atmospheric, warm and cosy with fabulous drinks and charming service. The breakfast was plentiful and honestly quite perfect!! Already planning my next visit! Thank you- it was just what we needed!

This establishment offers a refreshing twist on the traditional British pub experience, and that’s precisely what sets it apart. The food is of good quality, with every dish thoughtfully prepared and presented. Service is excellent with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a seamless dining experience. While the pricing leans toward the higher end, the quality of the food and service more than justifies the cost, making it a worthwhile for a memorable outing. The ambiance is clean, quiet, and inviting; perfect for those who prefer a more refined atmosphere. Additionally, the attention to detail extends to the facilities, with clean restrooms stocked with good quality toiletries, which further enhances the overall experience. This is a standout venue that I highly recommend to those seeking an elevated pub experience.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The White Horse in Dorking, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to a beautiful room, which was both stylish and comfortable—perfect for a relaxing stay. The highlight of our visit was joining in the Christmas quiz, which was a fun and festive way to spend the evening. It added such a lively, community feel to the atmosphere. We also enjoyed a couple of delicious cocktails from the bar before sitting down to a fantastic dinner. The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Overall, our experience at The White Horse was wonderful, and I’ll definitely be returning. Whether you're there for a cozy stay, great food, or a bit of holiday fun, it's the perfect spot in Dorking!

I visited on a business trip and was not disappointed. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. They food was great and the menu nicely varied. Of course, we had gelato for dessert! I chose two different flavours and I hope to sample more if I end up in the area again. Thank you for a lovely evening! Pictured is the gorgeous starter I enjoyed.
Rating: 4 / 5
We got the seafood spaghetti and the veal. I loved the generosity of the seafood, I kept finding more Mussels. I veal was a bit disappointing, but overall happy our meal. The gelato is a must! So many gorgeous flavours to choose from.
Rating: 5 / 5
We were passing from the area and it was recommended by another store employee. The place inside is simply but nicely decorated with the murano glass chandeliers and the wall painting indicating where its name come from. The Italian style burger was simple and nice, as were the pastas. The gelato was also nice and in decent quantities. Paid 120 gbp (including tip) for a company of 4 but didn't get antipasti.
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a really solidly good meal here. Between us, we had tasty pasta, pizza and a veggie burger, followed by gelato and cannoli. Really good virgin mojito. I didn't get a photo, but the interior is painted like Venice - nice touch. There's a little bit of outdoor seating for the good weather too. Totalled about £90 for two adults and two kids.

The Watermill

Rating: 5 / 5
Lovely pub with stunning views! We came here for brunch and ending up coming back for a late lunch too after a local walk! Lovely and spacious outdoor seating, lots of seating too so plenty of space. The indoor area was lovely too - I imagine it’ll be really nice and cosy in the winter. The pancakes with bacon were tasty. And the chicken and chorizo was ok too, probably not my favourite. Staff were really lovely and friendly. Both times it did take a while to pay but it wasn’t a huge deal and they were super friendly the whole time. I’ll definitely return here!
Rating: 5 / 5
The Watermill has always been my go-to pub in the summer, but this was my first time visiting during winter, and I’m so glad I did! I booked a Christmas brunch with friends, and the entire experience was fantastic. From the start, Daniel made us feel incredibly welcome. He had thoughtfully booked us a lovely table, keeping in mind that we had three toddlers with us. His friendly demeanor instantly put us at ease. Peter, who served us, was equally amazing—so kind, patient, and attentive, even amidst the inevitable chaos of having little ones at the table. He went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Offered to click our pictures as well. The food quality was great as always, and the staff’s warmth and attentiveness really stood out. To top it off, they had a charming Christmas market in the outdoor area, with lots of cute things to browse and buy. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I can’t wait to come back again—whether in summer or winter! Highly recommend The Watermill for its great food, friendly staff, and cozy ambiance.

What a wonderful dinner at The Watermill, It's well worth a visit, I would fully recommend it. The food was delicious. I had Venison Pie with mash and gravy, which was sublime. I was also particularly pleased because it was a full pie rather than just with a pastry top. The pie itself was delicious, and the mash, cabbage and gravy were also excellent. The portion was a good size too, and reasonably priced. I had an Elderflower Spritz mocktail to drink which was also excellent. For dessert, I found it incredibly difficult to choose as they all sounded great, but in the end had the Toffee Apple Arctic Roll, which was very nice and not too heavy. The service was excellent also, the staff are very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back, if only to work my way through the dessert menu, as there were so many delicious sounding dishes to choose from. I would definitely recommend The Watermill.

Beautiful pub by Box Hill! Lovely outdoor garden terrace overlooking the hill. It was a very busy Saturday but the service was still friendly and efficient. The food was amazing - the Dressed Devonshire Crab was very refreshing and the truffle mayo was amazing! The baked Camembert went really well with the apricot jam!

A great place to relax, a beautiful building inside and out, built around 1400s. A place full of charm and character. And the mould wine is really tasty. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a nice evening with friends and family 🫶🫶🫶

The staff here are absolutely amazing and so is the pub! A lovely place with lots of history and the atmosphere never disappoints. The staff, especially Duncan, Luca and Rhi are fabulous and so attentive as are the rest of the staff. I love coming here and it is constantly amazing every single time. Would highly recommend any pizzas here as they are made to order and always perfect. Excellent choice of drinks and the quiz on Mondays hosted by Rory is superb and great for the whole family!

Cosiest pub I’ve been to and the ambience there gives a comforting feeling. Sat by the fireplace and that lifted the feeling even more. Not a big menu, but the food was tasty. The loo’s were clean, maybe a bit small. I found it nice that the women’s loo had a basket with practical things such as hairspray. Staff were friendly and the pub was located right on the street so it was easy to find.

A great find, and a must-do if you’re staying at Wotton House or exploring the Surrey Hills. The manager was great in particular, conversational and funny. The staff were polite and attentive, food came out quickly and overall food was great too. The vibe is good. Cosy, but not sleepy. Modern and quality feel all round. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic country pub! I have been here a couple of times now and the food, service and atmosphere is really great. The Sunday roasts are good, we made sure we booked a table though as it gets busy. Inside there are many restaurant tables and a cosy bar area with a fireplace. The toilets were clean. There is also outdoor seating for the summer months, plus free parking available at the back. The staff are very friendly and polite, and the service is good. If you're looking for traditional pub food I would highly recommend The Wotton Hatch. If I lived more local I would be eating here every weekend!
Rating: 4 / 5
Had the 10oz steak (£31) which was tasty, but it didn't come with the caramelised Roscoff onion as per the menu. We also sent back the sticky toffee pudding because it had vanilla ice cream vs the billed ginger ice cream. The atmosphere was nice. Very dark where we sat. Lots of dogs around. They asked for a deposit because people leave without paying. Might try it again one day.
Rating: 5 / 5
Very good Sunday lunch. Vegetables with the various roasts were cooked well. Nothing felt tired. Fresh and plentiful. Between the four of us we had lamb, beef, pork and a vegetarian option that satisfied us all respectively. Lots of space between tables so it didn't feel over crowded. An open fireplace near the bar.

I am so glad that my brother in law introduced the Running Horses pub to me and my husband on our visit to Dorking. The food is delicious and the space is beautifully decorated in a vintage British countryside style. The service is lovely and quick. The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially Mo was smiley, chatty and very attentive to details. We had a great lunch and experience at the pub and will definitely be back. Thank you!
Rating: 5 / 5
I had cycled past this pub many times and the setting and look of the place made me want to book a table for food. We were not disappointed. The staff serving us were friendly, efficient and attentive. I had a great pint of Shere drop to start, the meal was delicious and the house red was excellent. If you are looking for a great Surrey pub with a traditional feel this is just right. It has a roaring open fire as you walk in and sells some local Surrey beers. Great value, great food and will definitely be heading back.
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a very nice lunch today. We had a bowl of olives to start which were very tasty and the braised venison was delicious. Apple and blackberry crumble with custard was very good although a little too sweet for my taste. Overall a very good meal with excellent service.

Nice country pub serving food. Suday lunch was good. Sounds like the vegetarian/vegan option is a wellington but the contents of it changes by week. When I visited it was curried sweet potatoes with some other vegetables inside. It was delicious with just a subtle curry spice that went well with the traditional trimmings. It's always a bit disappointing to find that the sides - stuffing, cauliflower cheese etc don't have a vegan alternativebut otherwise the food was good!
Rating: 4 / 5
A lovely off the beaten track pub that's a clear hit with the locals. The trio of roasts was great, a good portion, reasonably priced at around £20, but would recommend adding a few sides. Only let down was the children's portion sizes-cost. The pictured sausage and mash.....£8.50. Far too much for a single sausage and meager scoop of mash.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great old pub, fish and chips were perfect. Also had the Scotch egg and Cider, and for dessert the sticky toffee pudding with double cream is a must, so be sure to save room!
