Had a really nice meal on bank holiday. Service was quick and friendly. The pulled pork roll was really tasty with the fries and coleslaw, my husband enjoyed the smoky ribs, Bottle of pinot rose was £25.

My husband, daughter and I came here with our dog at the weekend. My husband had a pizza and my daughter and I shared some small plates - chicken wings, macaroni cheese, garlic bread and salt and pepper squid. Nice meal, friendly staff. The pub is well presented inside and out.

We love this place! Games and food are excellent with a gorgeous garden to use in the summer. We play the pub quiz and enjoy the format. Staff couldn't do enough for you.

Visited the newly refurbished grove, new entrance through the left hand shed. Looks great inside and outside and service was very friendly and helpful. Drinks selection is good with lots of beer choices on tap. Food menu is limited currently but will be added to in due time, they have nibbles, pizza and burgers. They also offer vegan options and we tried the vegan pizza, which was tasty. Inside they have a games section, with shuffleboard, darts and kids play area (outside). Felt cosy and comfortable inside, we sat outside initially but it gets a bit colder in the evening. The pub doesn't get any evening sunshine but has lighting and a couple of cabins.

Great local pub, we go for drinks every Friday night after work, and often drop in for food at weekends too. Family and dog friendly, games indoors and out, large garden, kid's playground at the back. Best wood fired pizzas around, with take-out too.

Rating: 4.4 (1470) Price Level:

We went here for afternoon tea to celebrate some special Birthdays. The service was excellent and the food really tasty. In The summer you would be able to walk the beautiful gardens but it was a wet and windy day that we were there so we stayed inside. All in all a very enjoyable experience but not really very good value for money.

Adam and his team are wonderful and can't do enough to make you feel welcome. Great Fosters is gorgeous and one of the most wonderful hotels I have stayed in, and they certainly know how to do Christmas. Natalia and her team in the dining area made every meal special. With a Michelin star, the food is excellent. It has been one of the best Christmas's I have had for a long time and is well worth the money .Thank you, Adam and your team x

The food quality is very good taking into account the price. For £35 you get a three course meal with a nice juicy 8oz steak. Real value for money. I had the 30day aged Fillet Mignon it was super tender and juicy. The service is efficient and very friendly. Always with a smile. Atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Overall a a great place to eat and drink.

A Memorable Evening at Miller & Carter Steakhouse, Chertsey (08/12/2024) From the moment we walked in, the experience was exceptional! Rachel, our server, truly stood out with her warm, friendly demeanor and genuine engagement throughout the evening. She made us feel so welcome and taken care of. We indulged in two perfectly cooked steaks paired with a selection of delicious sides. Every bite was phenomenal! The steaks were tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly to our liking. Our sides—mac and cheese, halloumi fries, and greens—were equally delightful, adding the perfect variety to our meal. While I tried the bone marrow and found it wasn’t entirely to my taste, I appreciate the adventurous offering and its beautiful presentation. It’s great to see such unique options on the menu! We were pleasantly surprised by the value of our feast. Despite ordering quite a bit (and thoroughly enjoying it all), the total was just over £100—a fantastic deal for the quality and quantity of food. The "3 for £10" deal on sides is an especially great touch, offering incredible variety without breaking the bank. This visit left a lasting impression, and I’ll certainly be returning for another wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended!

Been to this branch quite a few times now. The food is always amazing. Only slight complaint is the greens are a bit hit and miss. Steaks are always cooked to exactly how we want and are delicous. Tonight is the second time Nely served us. All the waiting staff here are brilliant but she is by far the best. Very helpful, always smiling and very friendly. Will see you again soon! Thank you again.

Comfortable lovely environment Bit pricey. Service is wonderful. Only got a 4* overall as we were sitting between the kitchen and the bathroom entrance, so it was extremely busy and chilly with the staff wizzing by. If we were anywhere else, im fairly certain it would have been a 5

Really beautiful pub with a cutesy old world rustic feel. Lovely food and staff who can’t do enough. Had a wonderful pork belly with perfect crackling. There is a wonderful indoor fire that kept us all lovely and warm as it is Jan. lovely decor and mostly accessible. Main toilets on first floor but there is an accessible bathroom on ground.

Had dinner with my wife here. Friendly staff and good pub food. Started, Main and Desserts were all good. Mocktail 🍸 according to my wife excellent. Wine glasses had probably some washing up residue in but got replaced immediately, so no real harm done. Just to be more careful for future servings. 😉

Harriet and Tianna are the best they go above and beyond in their customer service even when sat in the bar area they still provide table service. They highly recommend the calamari which was exquisite. The food is high end and I have not found one fault with the food or the surroundings. The ribeye steak is unbelievable I love this place and have recommended it to family and friends who frequently visit now

We held our engagement party in the private room upstairs and had a fantastic time. The room was set up perfectly with tasteful candles and flower vases, in a French bistro style, and lets in loads of natural light. The balcony allowed the opportunity for guests to get some fresh air and the view of the rooftops of the surrounding Egham area was really pretty. The little makeshift bar was so cute and the bespoke vegan and vegetarian canapés were delicious - our guests loved them, and absolutely RAVED about the bang bang cauliflower in particular and it meant our guests with allergies and dietary requirements could enjoy without worries. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the process and on the day itself, great communication and support. It was a memorable night and it was the perfect space for our engagement party so thank you so much. We will definitely be looking to book future events with Bar 163 for upcoming occasions. Highly recommend for anyone looking to book an event space, very flexible and accommodating.

Update - I have been contacted by the property and they have been very receptive and responsive, so review edited. The loft was nice, I should have checked as the room overlooked the roundabout. The ear plugs next to the bed made me think. 😀 very poor dinner, the steak was poor quality, badly cooked and tiny. With a watery sauce. The chips were nice but not worth 24 quid. I did mention it to the server but it is not their fault, that lies with the chef and the manager.

Went for a Friday meal, it was very busy and a big shout out to Masie who was very helpful and looked after us very well over a hectic evening. They have a good selection of beer and the food was very tasty and good quality, however the portions were quite small for the price. Had I known this, I would have gone for something like the fish and chips rather than the pork belly. Very much enjoyed our evening out and the King's Arms

First time visit, Atmosphere was lovely and warming, did expect a bit more of a Christmassy vibe - like music , crackers on tables etc Staff and service was brilliant, made sure we were ok, no wait time , very kind and polite The food was amazing, the Duck leg and the pork belly roast were yummy - lots of food - I think it’s the best Sunday lunch I’ve had in a long time. Went to the Retreat on my way to pick my brother up from the airport. I found this pub to be quite cosy with a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I opted for the fish and chips and I must say, it was flavoursome, crispy and flaky. I then had an apple crumble with custard which was nice and sweet. Overall I would definitely recommend if you are looking for some good pub food within the Staines area.

1st December - early family Christmas gathering and our visit didn’t disappoint. The Retreat delivered a superb Roast - tender meat, crispy roast spuds with a delicious range of veg! Even the Christmas crackers were funny! Staff looked after us with food delivered promptly but without being rushed. Also nice atmosphere so we will be back!

The refurb has completely changed this place. It was nice before but it's very nice now! Excellent drinks selection. Menu is great, and the food was lovely. We went quite late in the evening so didn't get a chance to see the beer garden. It looked lovely though, fairy lights dotted around the walls and looked like there was plenty of seating. The car park was full so we had to park on the road opposite but lucky it's not permit so parking wasn't an issue.

Attended on a Friday for the scream fest. Parking was easy & well navigated by stewards. There was no wait to get in, straight through the gates, though the park had been open almost an hour. The park wasn't overly busy so wait times weren't too bad, the longest we had to wait was at the end of the night for Hyperia which was just over an hour. The park though small has some fantastic rides & the spacing out between them is great, doesn't feel crammed in. The decorations & attention to detail for scream fest was fantastic, the staff were amazing, as were the live entertainments that were put on. Will definitely return next year!

Absolutely amazing experience. My rating is bias because there isn't many smaller, tamer rides that I could enjoy but if you like thrills then this will be great for you. The rollercoasters are huge and so fast although some are shorter in length than others. Food is fairly pricey so recommend bringing snacks with you as well as a coat if you're planning on a water ride. Unfortunately on my visit, all but one water ride was closed and a coaster was too but hopefully that's not a reoccurance. Great place, easy to travel around, perfect with friends

Visited with my family for the first time since i was a child! Fantastic day yes the queues are long for the most popular rides we still managed 6 of the main rides but would advise two days to do most of them. Hopefully we will re visit soon Top tip buy the refillable drink cups on way in we did two rides all machines empty and both shops out of stock by 12.30pm

Had a great day at Thorpe Park followed by the Fright Night event. Really well run by staff who were all friendly, good-natured and well equipped to deal with situations when technical issues arose. A small request...please fix the charging bank stations. I tried renting a power bank multiple times throughout multiple areas of the park over a couple of hours and none of the machines would release any of the chargers. It would make such a difference to fix these and offer more of them! Fright night actors were brilliant. There was also a live band and food stalls in the evening. Treated to beautiful sunset skies and the park looks spectacular at night! A great big shout out to Dylan who operated the human claw machine! We had an absolute blast! He had so much energy and enthusiasm to make sure the whole group were happy...it truly made our night! Definitely money well spent and brilliant memories made. Pranavi was also wonderful....so friendly and helpful. Both of them made our final moments at Thorpe Park really memorable and we all left on such a high!

Haven't visited for over 10 years to this pub. I loved going back the huts and outside areas are wonderful addition. The inside is spacious and welcoming it has the feeling of an old familiar home from home with all the comforts you could want. The food was amazing it was hot beautiful fresh and clean not greasy. The servers were lovely we had 2 as we were a table for 10 and they were attentive and quick. Overall we went back twice within our week stay both times spent quite a long time and we enjoyed both visits. The sticky toffee pudding was the best my daughter has ever had she said.
