This place was a hit for our family. They had great service. Friendly server. Food took a few minutes longer than typical because they were surprised by a busier night than expected but the server told us and apologized before I noticed which is a big win in my book. They even tried to make me a martini I like from the States. The fish and chips were the best I’ve had. They fried it perfectly. Phenomenal. My daughter loved her pasta, the swingset, and the tractor. They even have a dog menu here! Great place to visit.

We both find it's always a pleasure to go here & yesterday was no exception. The restaurant still had a lovely festive Christmassy atmosphere, excellent service, great menu choices & delicious food (the Chestnut Gnocchi, Fish & Venison were all fabulous). But, the icing on the cake was when my dessert arrived, decorated with a candle and the staff stood by our table & sang Happy Birthday to me!!

Had a great evening for my wife's birthday food was superb waitress was great, one of our guests was gluten free/vegetarian and they made a menu especially for her. (lovely touch) We will definitely be back.

Best Sunday Roast ever. Superbly presented and incredible tasty. Succulent meat and a real Yorkshire pudding. Great atmosphere and good service. Jack was especially welcoming and friendly. We been several times and thought it deserved a mention.

We’ve been to this pub a few times. Standout is the service and the location, and just the beautiful building. The food is also really good. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the selection of beers/ciders on tap, they only serve the products of a local brewery. We always enjoy going and the kids love the garden. We will keep coming back.

We had a wonderful Sunday roast while sitting outside, enjoying the beautiful views of the fields. The food was not only delicious but also complemented by the friendly and attentive service. The menu offers a great variety of options, catering to all tastes, which makes it even more appealing. This place is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots

I ate here before it closed down but it wasn't great. Tomato soup was too sweet and the bread was hard. So I can't speak for the change. But the staff are brilliant.

Great evening at Thai Pad. The food was awesome. But the service was even better. They should congratulate their staff on being smiley and attentive. The cocktails were extremely good and the price for it all was very reasonable. The atmosphere was perfect, although the wall separating the 2 sides of the restaurant is a bit weird. But, everything was clean and we never felt rushed. Definitely recommended.

I didn't know about Thai Pad until a friend recommended the restaurant and it lived up to all she said to me. Decided to go for a birthday dinner with my husband and so glad I did. The prices are very reasonable, food was spectacular (the squid and the banana fritters were to die for!) and the staff were also amazing, very accommodating as we didn't book but they managed to get us a table. I'd recommend booking though as they're very busy, rightly so. I'm certainly going back.

My favourite place for Thai food - yummy! I definitely recommend the lamb massaman and they do great cocktails. The staff have always been friendly and when we have taken our toddler, they have been very inclusive of him too. The decor I lovely as well.

Really nice food. Overall vibes are 10/10 - the decor is lovely - it's quite dark, but it's sets a nice ambiance. The food was really good. We ordered the sweetcorn fritters, the papaya salad, and calamari to start. The calamari was exemplary, highly recommend. Mains we did a similar thing and got a bunch of options to share - the cashew dish with prawns was amazing. Vegetable green curry? Incredible. Pad Thai was ok, not the best I've ever had, but everything else made up for it. We did also get the morning glory, I wouldn't do that again. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant and I would go again. It was really reasonably priced considering we also ordered wine on top of all of the food.

We had Sunday lunch at the carpenters arms and it was amazing. The food was amazing, it’s one of the best roasts I’ve had from a pub in a while. The variety of food was good in my opinion. The staff were great as well, there seemed to be a number of them always walking around looking after patrons. It’s a hidden gem that I look forward to going back to again.

A Boxing Day Triumph at The Carpenters Arms Visited The Carpenters Arms on Boxing Day with a small gathering of just 20 family members—it was like hosting a reunion with added gravy. Despite our herd-like arrival, the staff didn’t bat an eye and looked after us as if we were old friends. The beers on tap? Exceptional. The sort that makes you wish you’d walked so you could sample a few more. And the food? Well, let me tell you, the Turkey Pie deserves its own place in the British Pie Hall of Fame. Flaky, rich, and comforting—it was Boxing Day in pastry form. Practicalities were spot on too: plenty of parking for our fleet of cars, a tidy garden (perfect for future visits in warmer months), and spotless interiors that make you trust the kitchen even more. Would we visit again? In a heartbeat. Maybe next time with fewer people… or maybe not. Cheers to The Carpenters Arms for turning a family outing into a memorable feast.

We were served by Imogen this evening and she was lovely. Very attentive and welcoming. Our food was wonderful, my steak was cooked to perfection! The puddings were too good and should come with a warning - we’re all stuffed to the brim now. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

A Superb Evening at The Old Bell for Burns Night, we had Gillian as our waitress and she was very friendly, attentive and professional. Tonight at The Old Bell was nothing short of exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and festive, a perfect setting to celebrate Burns Night. The menu was a delight, showcasing thoughtful and delicious dishes that truly honored the occasion. To start, I had the crab and avocado, which was a refreshing and beautifully balanced dish. The sweetness of the crab paired wonderfully with the creamy avocado – light yet indulgent. For the main course, I couldn’t resist the classic haggis, neeps, and tatties. It was everything you’d hope for on Burns Night – rich, flavorful, and comforting, with each element cooked to perfection. To finish, I chose the Balmoral chicken, which was simply divine. The chicken was tender and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the whisky sauce. Every bite was a celebration of Scottish tradition. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the overall ambiance was lively yet cozy, creating a memorable experience. The Old Bell truly excelled in capturing the spirit of Burns Night. I’ll definitely be back!

First time visit 25/01 to the Old Bell Oxted eating from the Burns Night Menu. The pub is easy to find and plenty of parking available. Really pleased with the food, came out quick and hot, 4 courses for £28 was a bargain! Unfortunately for a Saturday night only a few of us in the pub, hence scoring 3/5 for atmosphere. But great welcome and service from Gillian. We had a lovely meal and would visit again.

Best pub in the area. Actual pub without a proper and very welcoming pub landlord and owner. Not a chain. Does fantastic food and do go! Better food than the chain pub up the street.

Fantastic service, nice decor and super tasty food! We were a group of 14 gay ramblers from London. We left super impressed and well fed. Becky the chef delivered a wonderful meal, service was excellent, fast and efficient with sense of humour. We'll definitely be back!

Just enjoyed the BEST Poched Eggs in Oxted, served by the lovely waitress. If you are in OR around oxted, I would definitely recommend parking in the car park (pay & display via the App) and pop into Toast for a snack. Especially special if you enjoy a chilled out vibe, soundtrack was excellent for single women / Men. Window seat set the tones - Mine on Tuesday morning @ 10 was AMAZING. I'LL be back soon 👍

First time at this place. Great for lunch. Free parking on the high street right outside. Helpful staff who accommodated my mum with mobility issues by putting tables together so we could sit on lower chairs. Cool, breezy, woody, metally, floral decor actually works! Fast service. Shout out to Kiera who was our excellent server and Emily on drinks. Good range of trad breakfast items. Pancakes were fluffy as heck. They were happy to give us a pot of maple syrup when asked. Eggs and salmon was as good as you could want. Croissant was giant. Had to take half home. Toilet clean and spacious.

Held a school parents Christmas event at Toast as a private event. The food was fabulous, atmosphere was very festive, service and communication was excellent. Highly recommend.

I really like this place. Great service, friendly staff and the decor and atmosphere is really nice too. The way they do folded eggs is fantastic. They are really nice and moist and fluffy and a great brunch. Also few places have done pancakes as well as this place in my opinion. They were great so we'll executed. Good coffee too. Really nice pub with good food. The service is friendly and the vibe inside is really nice with other pub goers seeming super friendly and chill. Lots of seating and tables. The food was good. Baked Camembert starter was delicious. The fish I had was really nice too with good flavours however it was just slightly overcooked for me (it wasn’t super overcooked or anything but it has been cooked a tiny bit longer than that just cooked point).the sauce the fish was in was also a little bit too salty for me. The pie and mash was really nice too.

We have our annual post Xmas celebration here every year with family who aren’t local to us and this is our midway meeting point . I have to say this year the welcome and service was better than ever . Because there were a lot of us they put us in the private dining area and were attentive throughout. Food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone The menu offers traditional pub grub like burgers and fish and Chips but also offers other tasty options like my cod loin on a spicy layer of beans. Can highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and brownies too. Log fires warm and welcoming too..

Such a lovely venue, decor is authentic and it's a huge place with many different spaces including a secret garden. Would be fab for hosting an event. The menu had not been updated on the website so three of our party were disappointed that there was no banoffee pie. But not the end of the world. I ordered the bavette steak, medium rare. It came rare but I didn't want to interrupt the meal by sending it back. It was disappointing as not to my preference and the brandy peppercorn sauce seemed to be split, it wasn't thick instead watery. Flavour was fine. Service was also fine, little things like having to ask for steak knives detracted from the basic service that you would expect in an establishment like this. Mu sister had the hake which was quite a small portion. My dad had the fish pie which he enjoyed. Did like that they're dog friendly and recieved a warm welcome when we arrived. Staff were nice.

Great pub, with plenty of character and good food options. Prices are a bit steep but food is good. Garlic bread was quite underwhelming. Drinks choice also good Inc non alcoholic beers as well.

Had gone for a Sunday roast (or options offered) calamari was selected for a starter, with main course meals of lamb, beef and chicken. We all agreed we have never had calamari that was so melt in the mouth and delicious. The main meals were just amazing. We gave compliments to the chef.

Stopped here for drinks. Really friendly service and atmosphere. Food looks great but we didn’t eat here ourselves. Large pretty garden and large parking area.
