“Great breakfast with amazing gluten free bread rolls… to the point we had to double check they were gluten free! Good coffee. There was a mistake with our order which was sorted without fuss and we were given a free drink which was kind.”

“We’ve drove past here a couple of times and yesterday decided to give it a go!! We were not disappointed!! Beautiful relaxing ambience, amazing food, excellent staff, super clean facilities and reasonably priced. Vicky was very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! There was also an information centre with the history of Stoney Middleton displayed! Will definitely be coming back!! Highly recommended!”

“We had a memorable experience staying at the hotel and enjoying dinner at the restaurant. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was small, as expected for the countryside, but also beautifully appointed and comfortable. The restaurant was a bit of a welcome surprise. We looked at the menu and thought it a touch more fancy then we wanted. But we stayed, and were rewarded with good service, delicious meals (steak and lamb) and an overall very enjoyable evening. The Peacock is a delightful property, and we'd count ourselves fortunate to return. By the way, we also left some electronics behind and the staff was very helpful with securing their return.”

“After many visits to Chatsworth Kitchen I thought it was time I left a review! Visited with friends for breakfast yesterday-it was quiet but I had booked as it can get busy. Beautiful place, love the atmosphere, love the interior design, always end up buying something from the retail part as it’s so lovely, staff always friendly. Now the food, it’s tasty and nicely presented BUT I wish the menu was more seasonal. As someone who visits regularly and usually for breakfast meetings/get togethers I get tired of the same menu. This time we all wanted the berries, yoghurt and granola option (it was a hot day) - but unfortunately they had no berries so we couldn’t have this. We then looked at the menu and there aren’t many ‘lighter’ options. We opted for the mushrooms and poached egg which was nice, the mushrooms came in a thick creamy sauce. I’ve had this before although I’m sure it used to be served on brioche. I think Chatsworth Kitchen is lovely and I’ll keep returning as it’s a lovely place to meet.”

“During our recent visit to the restaurant, we had the afternoon tea for three individuals. However, upon arrival, we discovered that we had inadvertently forgotten our vouchers. Despite presenting an email and photographic evidence of the tickets, we were told to pay the full amount and subsequently incur additional expenses for recorded delivery to return the vouchers, thereby seeking a full refund. In comparison to our previous visit, the tea selection this time was significantly less than half. Notably, we were provided with standard white teapots, last time being more decorative, identical to the cups. While these observations may be considered minor, the culinary offerings were exceptional, and we found no aspect of the afternoon tea that we would wish to alter. Nevertheless, we acknowledge that the restaurant has room for improvement in certain areas.”
