What a treat. We were there to celebrate our friends’ wedding anniversary and the food, service and atmosphere were spot-on for the occasion. Considering the quality of the ingredients and how they were presented, it was good value. Lee also made an appearance, serving the pre-dinner breads which were absolutely delicious. If you’re checking reviews for this place before deciding, GO THERE and support this excellent venture.

We were looking for a fine dining place to eat while in Bakewell and Lovage by Lee Smith did not disappoint. We went for the three courses for £45, however, note that does not include sides which is £5 each (and necessary if you don't just want to eat just meat!) That was my only gripe. We were served by Jonathan who was professional, hospitable and very knowledgeable about the dishes. The meal started with a delicious croustard and warm sourdough bread. I enjoyed every course. As an avid watcher of Great British Menu and the mouthwatering food that is served, I was pleased, and not surprised to hear that Chef Lee Smith was on this show. Delicious food, reasonable priced and I was full at the end.

The best eating experience. The food was incredible from start to finish. Wine list is was outstanding. Staff were absolutely amazing. We ate everything and did not want to leave. Absolutely joyous. Highly, highly recommended. The most enjoyable food experience we've had a long time. Thank you so much. You made our joint celebration so special.

We had a lovely evening at Lovage, had been recommended to go and are very glad we did The welcome, atmosphere and interior of the restaurant, all great The food was stunning, in looks and taste, a delicious, complimentary cheese filo tart started us off, all courses were memorable The wine list is a good size and starts off at less than £30,so decent value Was good to see the Maitre'd quietly training the young, efficient and friendly staff during service Have recommended and will return

Went for lunch with a friend and expected something special- I wasn’t disappointed. Steak tartar and the steak were wonderful- very tender. My friend had asparagus and then hake. Possibly best food I’ve had for years and very nice service. Hugely recommend
