Mike replaced all of our internal doors for us. He came out to check the doors and advised on the best options. After arranging an install date, Mike checked in again just to be sure we were still ok ahead of the arranged date. Him and his team arrived on time, were always polite, friendly and professional, and they tidied up beautifully after they'd finished. We cannot fault Mike's work - our new doors have transformed the house! I wouldn't hesitate to hire Mike again, or recommend him to friends and family. Thank you again!

Cannot recommend MJP carpentry enough! They fitted our Wren kitchen for us Feb-March time and honestly did the most amazing job! They made my vision come to light! Michael and the team were super helpful. The project was to build a self assembly garden shed/office, but to be honest I had not anticipated how much work would be needed. Nevertheless, Michael and the team cracked on, and guided me through any snags that presented themselves - suggesting the appropriate options and working to get the project done to a great standard.

Dan has just completed replacing nine internal doors complete with new door linings, architraves and over 30 metres of oak skirting. Updating my review following a second job completed by Pete and Andy - excellent job again, and can thoroughly recommend - the work that they do is of the highest quality, but they are also very good post-completion at coming back for any snagging - have always felt everything is well communicated and have stuck to quoted prices. Andy and Pete, with Nick and Graham, carried out our loft conversion this year and we are so happy with their work. What we liked best was their time-keeping (they ran exactly to schedule) and costing (they ran exactly to quote, except for some extras that we requested). As important was their pleasantness in working with. They are very courteous, great communication, and any problems were listened to carefully and a sensible solution found. Our project was quite large (dormer L-shape loft conversion, complete reroof, chimney repoint, 2 new bathrooms and fitted cupboards and wardrobes). Their workmanship is of a very high standard and we strongly recommend them.

Andy and Pete consistently confirmed that we'd made the right decision when we asked them to build a single storey extension onto the back of our house and a replacement porch. They were not only highly skilled, patient, honest, trustworthy and communicative, they (and their team) were just great people to have around. That's pretty vital when they are going to spend months on your project! They used their vast experience and network to quickly resolve any challenges which arose and have left us with a life changing extension that we enjoy each and every day. The gorgeous extension is filled with light due to an apex roof housing two Velux windows and a complete wall of bifold doors with glass gable end. The Utility Room houses our white goods at a raised level for ease of use and our very swanky porch (!) is rendered as per the bottom half of the entire house. Quite a transformation! JP is a pleasant, honest and reliable tradesman. He was very punctual and arrived our property at the time he said he would. He was very patient and accommodating and did an excellent job in and around the house, he carried out some alterations in my kitchen and fitted new locks and handles to 7 doors. His quote was also competitive. He also had a wealth of advice to offer regarding the possible ways to fix one of my kitchen unit that was proving difficult to fix. We would recommend him highly.

Door frames repaired & restored by JP, he has done an amazing job. I found JP very honest, professional and reasonably priced as quotes from others advised a whole new door frame, whereas JP was extremely honest and advised that he can easily repair & restore the wooden door frames without the need of whole new door frames. I am extremely pleased with the work JP has done and I saved money at the same time. I will definitely use JP again as I am so pleased with his work.

Jp made and fitted an Alleyway gate with lock and latches aswell as painted. He's done an amazing job friendly great comms. Nothing too much. Also done another job which I will post separately which has been just as good if not better.

I've recently had two sets of built-in wardrobes done by Aaron (AJ), and he has been excellent from capturing my requirements to delivering the final product. AJ kept me posted with timelines, prices, materials and more and has never once declined a phone call from me asking yet another stupid question! The final product was absolutely fantastic and I am very glad I went with him after receiving another competitive quote. I will absolutely be using him again and referring him to friends and family to utilise his services.

Aaron did a brilliant job of replacing our old internal doors. He was a pleasure to deal with, thoroughly professional and helpful, and his work was faultless. After five years of having Nick as our carpenter it has suddenly dawned on me we have never left a review!! What a terrible oversight. Nick is amazing. No job too big or too small and each undertaken with meticulous care and attention to detail. Nick has moved and refitted doors, built a wardrobe, redesigned a fitted wardrobe, rebuilt stairs and repaired several external wet rot damaged window ledges. We have been more than happy with all the work Nick has undertaken. Living in an old house, having moved from a modern vicarage, there are always maintenance carpentry jobs that need doing to keep the house in good repair and no walls are straight making many jobs challenging. But Nick undertakes them all with careful consideration, patience and expertise. He is honest and trustworthy and we are thrilled to have found Nick and wouldn’t have any other carpenter. We would recommend Woods Contemporary Carpentry unreservedly.

Nick did a very good job replacing 3 doors which was a far from an easy job the frames being out of line. He also modified some new cupboards and fitted them on the wall. Super job, nice obliging chap very helpful recommended.

We had Nick build fitted wardrobes with sliding doors. He’s was extremely helpful with identifying a supplier for the doors, we chose IKEA internals which he assembled into the space we had giving us wall to wall wardrobes. He also installed the sliding doors which gave a great finish to the whole project. He also fitted some made to measure shelving in a relatively small gap which gave some additional storage. He was also very helpful getting the paint to match the IKEA colour. A separate project we intended to do ourselves but Nick correctly convinced us he would do it better, he built panelling along one wall of the bedroom which looks great. Always communicated what he was doing and very flexible if we couldn’t be in the house.

Nick did an amazing job fitting 2 doors last year (pic1), so we had him back to fit 5 second floor doors. He overcame plenty of issues with the door frames and door handles but with perseverance he did a fantastic job. He’s very particular which is really good and does not do shabby work, he’s booked in for another job which I wouldn’t have anyone else to do. Definitely recommend 100%. 12/12/23 I’d thought I’ll add a few more comments and pictures as I’m unable to post a new review. Sam did a great job installing fitted floating shelves in alcoves as well as a mantel piece. He was flexible on timings and was happy to discuss what we wanted until we were happy. Only a 4 because of a miscommunication which meant the shelves ended up in a slightly different place to expected and the finish/varnish needed neatening after he'd finished. The actual woodwork was brilliant, and the whole project was a good price.

I love our new staircase. Sam has been very professional and flexible throughout the whole process. We’ve asked a different type of staircase and balustrade, so we were a bit worried about the end result. We just love it and we can totally recommend Sam for his quality skills , well done!

We had wanted our rather dull staircase, bannisters and under stairs cupboard changed for years, but we'd always been put off by the high prices of the 'stair renovations specialists'. I found details of SJT Carpentry and Joinery on-line and I was very impressed by their feedback and photos. Got a quote and some ideas from Sam and was pleasantly surprised by both the price and his suggestions. Now having had the work done I am really pleased with the end result, wish we'd found Sam earlier. Sam arrived on time, kept me informed of what was happening and made very sensible suggestions. Really impressed with his workmanship. Hope to use him again on another project in the near future.

I initially thought this would be a really complicated project to replace a stair case, but Sam handled the whole project efficiently and professionally. I would highly recommend him and couldn't have asked for the result to be any better! Please see some before and after images of the stairs.
