Updating my review following a second job completed by Pete and Andy - excellent job again, and can thoroughly recommend - the work that they do is of the highest quality, but they are also very good post-completion at coming back for any snagging - have always felt everything is well communicated and have stuck to quoted prices. No hesitation in recommending and would certainly use them again.

A few friends of ours recommended Bassett Carpentry for our kitchen extension. We couldn’t be happier with the work and would recommend them to anyone else. Our extension was not straight forward but Andy & Pete were so easy to deal with. They were honest and upfront with costs, and kept to the agreed price plans. Their team who completed the electrics and plumbing were also superb. We were very nervous as this was our first project, but Bassett Carpentry exceeded all expectations and did the perfect job. They also installed the kitchen itself, which we love. We are very grateful and actually missed having them around once the extension was complete! Thank you so much.

Andy and Pete, with Nick and Graham, carried out our loft conversion this year and we are so happy with their work. What we liked best was their time-keeping (they ran exactly to schedule) and costing (they ran exactly to quote, except for some extras that we requested). As important was their pleasantness in working with. They are very courteous, great communication, and any problems were listened to carefully and a sensible solution found. Our project was quite large (dormer L-shape loft conversion, complete reroof, chimney repoint, 2 new bathrooms and fitted cupboards and wardrobes). Their workmanship is of a very high standard and we strongly recommend them.

Andy and Pete consistently confirmed that we'd made the right decision when we asked them to build a single storey extension onto the back of our house and a replacement porch. They were not only highly skilled, patient, honest, trustworthy and communicative, they (and their team) were just great people to have around. That's pretty vital when they are going to spend months on your project! They used their vast experience and network to quickly resolve any challenges which arose and have left us with a life changing extension that we enjoy each and every day. The gorgeous extension is filled with light due to an apex roof housing two Velux windows and a complete wall of bifold doors with glass gable end. The Utility Room houses our white goods at a raised level for ease of use and our very swanky porch (!) is rendered as per the bottom half of the entire house. Quite a transformation! Really good experience with Ben and Elliot from Jordan Carpentry. Although they specialise in historic buildingrestorations, they hung four doors for me and I couldn't be happier with the result. Initially I was given a 5 week lead time due to their current job load, however Ben managed to complete my job within a week of coming round to view the job and provide a quote. Very happy customer! Thanks Ben.

Could not recommend Ben highly enough! He has recently done a fair bit of work for us including transforming our banister, building bespoke under stairs storage, moving a doorway and building a little cupboard to house our fuse box. Everything Ben does is to the highest standard. Nothing is too much trouble and he completely understood my vision and brought it to life! He is also a pleasure to have around, my Labrador has gone into a deep depression because he misses his buddy. Ben always leaves everything clean and tidy and is mindful of the little ones running around. Couldn’t ask for more, thank you Ben!

We employed Ben to install new ceiling joists under a pyramid roof, including insulation board, air barrier and plasterboard finish in our Grade II listed home. The quality of his workmanship is excellent. Ben is conscientious, punctual, clean and tidy and we can't recommend him highly enough. We will definitely be using Jordan Carpentry for any further projects.

I wanted to utilise the space under the stairs better than the old fashioned cupboard that was put in place when the house was originally built. Ben listened to what I wanted and advised me how best to achieve this. He and Elliott have arrived on time in the mornings, they advised me of each step and communicated well with me. At the end of each day they cleaned the area where they were working prior to leaving and once the job was finished took everything away. I am really very pleased with the end result, the quality of the work is excellent and it is better than I expected. I would strongly recommend Ben and Elliot to anybody looking for carpentry work.

Darren built some bespoke fitted wardrobes and shelving. Darren offered up a lot of advice prior to the build and came up with some good ideas. He turned up on time, worked hard, cleaned up every day and was a pleasure to have on site. I would recommend Darren, and will certainly use him again when we need some more carpentry done. We are very pleased with the wardrobes and shelves.

We consider ourselves fortunate in having Darren Harris recommended for repairs and reconstruction to a fine door which over time had fallen into disrepair and was in need of complete restoration. Darren proved to be a highly qualified, skilled carpenter and competent professional. The door in question now looks 'as new'. The work required was completed as quoted for and within the time limitations. Darren was a pleasure to work with throughout. We have no hesitation in making this recommendation to others who expect top quality workmanship and a 'proper job'

I am thrilled with the work Darren has completed for me. He did numerous jobs including making made a new wooden front door for me and it's frame. He made the door and painted it beautifully. He made good the walls around the frame too. He worked really hard and was patient when I kept adding to his list of things to do! He is extremely talented and a pleasure to have around the house! I can thoroughly recommend his work.

Darren is extremely talented. He transformed our lounge by constructing a stud wall to create a false chimney breast, then built a bespoke fire surround and built in cabinets, either side. In addition to this he built a hexagonal windowsill, to perfectly fit our recently built out bay window. We were delighted with the standard of his work and his professionalism.

Lewis advised and replaced the bannisters on our stairs. He did a great job and was polite and courteous. I will be using his services again…. And I did, this time to replace all our internal doors with oak ones. Craig and Garath did an amazing job; they were really friendly and polite and left no mess.

The experience from start to finish has been fantastic! I was given a really reasonable quote, and though additional costs were added (due to extra work which needed to be carried out) these were also really reasonably priced and I was kept well informed about it before the work was carried out. I'd also discovered what can only be described as a nightmare of hidden pipework under the old larder (before work was due to be carried out), and though my own worries about this caused delays with the work starting, Lewis was really supportive in addressing this and was really quick to respond to all of my concerns. Garath fitted my new cabinets, moved my extractor fan/boxing, replaced my windowsill and also worked on a few extra areas in the kitchen and I'm honestly impressed with how good it all looks! All his work has been topnotch and throughout the process he was always polite and took the trouble to answer any questions I had. Work was also finished really quickly which was a bonus! My thanks to you both - can't recommend highly enough!

I have been using Lewis and the Team for some time now, the quality of workmanship is excellent, Lewis consistently goes out of his way to make sure we are looked after and Gareth and Craig are great guys, I would highly recommend.

We live nearby and decided to ask Jubilee Joinery for a quote on our staircase which needed some TLC. We had Neville Johnston out and the quote from them was eye watering. Jubilee delivered exactly what we asked for and the price was great in comparison with NJ as they gave us options to stop the costs going sky high. The workmanship was fantastic, they were tidy and very helpful through the entire process. I would definitely recommend this local family run business.

We have had Norwood carpentry round our house to do a number of thing but the main thing was our bathroom Mark was very good with his time keeping his cleanliness and and polite the job came just under budget and finished ahead of time witch was great I can’t recommend his enough very pleased with his work 5 stars all the way and I do not use anybody else I have booked him back in to do my media

BM Carpentry and Building did some work do or me recently (Sept 2023) at my house, to repair and replace some rotten woodwork around my French door and adjacent windows. Brett and Wes did a great job. They came out and discussed it in detail with me first, then subsequently came out and completed the job in a single day. The work done was of good quality, at a fair price and they left things clean and tidy. I had used their services previously once before, a couple of years ago on a bigger job when I was having my house re-roofed and had the same very positive experience then. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BM Carpentry and Building!

BM carpentry and building carried out our loft conversion and we really couldn’t be happier. The entire project - from initial conversations - until the final completion was so professional and the end result is perfect. Brett communicated clearly with us at each step and was very patient when explaining what needed to be done at each stage and what we should expect. We felt Brett really cared about our views and whether we were happy and he was fully committed to completing in the time frame he had laid out for us. BM Carpentry and Building recently reconstructed our kitchen, dining room and hallway into a modern spacious kitchen diner, including replacing double glazed rear door and two windows. We are very pleased with the finished spacious room. BM Carpentry and Building employed supporting specialist tradesmen who were also very professional. As a result of the great experience, we are having fury work by them. We would highly recommend them.

Brett and Wes recently completed an extension on our home. They were precessional, reliable and extremely trustworthy. It was a pleasure to have them working in our home. The quality of their work is always to an exceptionally high standard. They made the whole renovation process stress free for us. We have used them in the past and will 100% use them in the future for the rest of our renovation work.

Mark came and refurbished our banister. When he came to assess the job he discussed style and materials with us to ensure he knew what we envisaged for our home. We agreed a date for the work. He let us know traffic was making him a few minutes late arriving. He coped magnificently with the uneven wall and woodwork which the house builder had left us. The resulting job looks very good. He put down covers and cleaned up after working. We would definitely recommend Mark.

Mark came to refurb our staircase and has done an excellent job! Took care and tried to work us as we have toddler who naps. Explained the job as he went along and cleaned up along the way. I would highly recommend Mark!

I've used Paul Freeman Carpentry many times before. Meticulous in his work, reliable and trustworthy whereby I can give him a key in order for him to access my house whilst I am at work. I am kept updated with progress. Thoroughly recommended.

Paul has just fitted handrails to our stairs. I cannot speak too highly of his workmanship. He is a perfectionist, and also took considerable trouble to clean up after himself. I cannot fault him and it was a pleasure to have him working in our house.

Very happy with our new gaming table, it's solid and robust (glad I opted to have the legs as removable, I don't think it would have fit through the door otherwise!). Each of the four "leaves" fit together nicely. We purchased a plastic cover to go under the table cloth to help protect any spillages from reaching the baize mat. We have had a couple of games on it already and it has the cat's approval for comfort. Communication with the company was good throughout. Would recommend for board gaming enthusiasts!
