Andy and Pete consistently confirmed that we'd made the right decision when we asked them to build a single storey extension onto the back of our house and a replacement porch. They were not only highly skilled, patient, honest, trustworthy and communicative, they (and their team) were just great people to have around. That's pretty vital when they are going to spend months on your project! They used their vast experience and network to quickly resolve any challenges which arose and have left us with a life changing extension that we enjoy each and every day. The gorgeous extension is filled with light due to an apex roof housing two Velux windows and a complete wall of bifold doors with glass gable end. The Utility Room houses our white goods at a raised level for ease of use and our very swanky porch (!) is rendered as per the bottom half of the entire house. Quite a transformation! A few friends of ours recommended Bassett Carpentry for our kitchen extension. We couldn’t be happier with the work and would recommend them to anyone else. Our extension was not straight forward but Andy & Pete were so easy to deal with. They were honest and upfront with costs, and kept to the agreed price plans. Their team who completed the electrics and plumbing were also superb. We were very nervous as this was our first project, but Bassett Carpentry exceeded all expectations and did the perfect job. They also installed the kitchen itself, which we love. We are very grateful and actually missed having them around once the extension was complete! Thank you so much.

Updating my review following a second job completed by Pete and Andy - excellent job again, and can thoroughly recommend - the work that they do is of the highest quality, but they are also very good post-completion at coming back for any snagging - have always felt everything is well communicated and have stuck to quoted prices. No hesitation in recommending and would certainly use them again.

Andy and Pete, with Nick and Graham, carried out our loft conversion this year and we are so happy with their work. What we liked best was their time-keeping (they ran exactly to schedule) and costing (they ran exactly to quote, except for some extras that we requested). As important was their pleasantness in working with. They are very courteous, great communication, and any problems were listened to carefully and a sensible solution found. Our project was quite large (dormer L-shape loft conversion, complete reroof, chimney repoint, 2 new bathrooms and fitted cupboards and wardrobes). Their workmanship is of a very high standard and we strongly recommend them.

Mark has been a breath of fresh air to work with. Arrived as promised and his eye for detail is amazing. He has completed the stairs to a fantastic level of we couldnt be happier. We would definitely ask him to quote if we need any further work in the future.

Booked Mark to fit 4 internal doors after he did such a great job fitting a kitchen worktop for us. Mark arrived on the day agreed, on time. Measured the individual frames (all different sizes!), removed the old doors, cut the doors to size, fitted the door handles & added an additional hinge for each door. During his visit, Mark was friendly, professional & tidied up after he'd finished the job. He cut the old doors in half to make it easier for me to dispose of them. And he took away some wood that needed to be edged / bevelled as he didn't have the tools woth him and returned it a couple of days later which I will be making into a table. New doors look great (still need to be painted though) & fit perfectly. Another great job by Mark. Again, woud happily recommend Mark for your woodwork needs. Thanks Mark.

Mark came to refurb our staircase and has done an excellent job! Took care and tried to work us as we have toddler who naps. Explained the job as he went along and cleaned up along the way. I would highly recommend Mark!

Mark came and refurbished our banister. When he came to assess the job he discussed style and materials with us to ensure he knew what we envisaged for our home. We agreed a date for the work. He let us know traffic was making him a few minutes late arriving. He coped magnificently with the uneven wall and woodwork which the house builder had left us. The resulting job looks very good. He put down covers and cleaned up after working. We would definitely recommend Mark.

We first came across Mark a good few years ago when we wanted fitted drawers and wardrobes doing in an eaves bedroom. I drew a quick sketch of cupboards above and drawers below with some photos of the room and Mark came back with a CAD drawing which was exactly what we wanted. We booked him and he did the job for us. We were thrilled. When we had a loft conversion done some years later and wanted a run of cupboards in the bedroom that became the landing, including an office cupboard in the middle, there was only one person we were going to ask. Again, I outlined what I wanted, we had a bit of a chat via email and we came up with a design which Mark built and fitted. Subsequently he has done us a built in cupboard in an alcove in the bathroom and also a bespoke door for the under stairs cupboard. Mark is a really nice bloke, I am more than happy to have in my house with the family around. The guy that fitted my doors took one look at Mark's work and said enviously 'That guy's good'.

Mark at MKH Carpentry and Joinery has completed a number of jobs for us, and all have been to a brilliant standard. Two built-in wardrobes, a window seat, understairs storage cupboards, built-in bookcases and cabinets, and eaves storage. From the design process to finishing touches, Mark is a true professional and I would have no hesitation recommending him to others. Our go to joiner!

The cabinets Mark made and fitted for us were absolutely perfect. He designed and built the whole project, and we are absolutely delighted with the result. The whole build was perfect - on time, to spec and budget, very clean and tidy, and finished beautifully. I can totally recommend Mark for any cabinet making project.

We were absolutely delighted with the built in wardrobe that Mark designed, constructed and installed into a large bedroom alcove. He was an absolute pleasure to do business with from first contact through to finished product. All communication was quickly and comprehensively answered. The wardrobe is extremely well built, fits the space perfectly and looks amazing. Plus, the work was performed for a fixed price. I would strongly recommend using Mark for any carpentry work.

Rob did a great job in replacing and fitting 14 new oak finish doors and all the fixtures and fittings for our house. Very professional and just got on with the job. Never a particularly tidy job but he kept it as clean and tidy as he could and vacuumed the areas indoors at end of day. Added bonus of taking away all the old doors. Would certainly recommend Rob for door fitting and we’re certainly happy with the end result.
