Jay stepped into the breach and supplied and fitted our new fire door and uprated the intumescent strip on another in our buy-to-let student house. He also sorted out both door closers, which didn't work properly. This enabled him to certificate both doors and we now have our new registration. A truly excellent service all round.

I was the site manager for Ajays Carpentry & Construction for a large development in Portsmouth. They built several timber houses. What struck me most was the team spirit they had. The values - we all felt safe with tools materials and no/little!! foul language. They would assist with any further requirements. They are a family firm with family values. He had Jay in to complete our bar that we built at the end of the garden. He completed the panelling around the walls for us. And also built our amazing bar. That was built to a very high standard. From start to finish He done a great job. Works definitely use him again for any carpentery work that needs doing. Don't hesitate to use his company you will not he disappointed..

I was looking to book a benchmarking experience to do with my siblings and dad for his 70th. I couldn’t find anyone who offered this but after messaging a lot of paces, Ross was the only one who replied saying he would be very happy to help do this for us. Ross was incredibly helpful in organising this experience from the designs to the selection of wood and being so accommodating to the dates that worked for us. We did it over a weekend under his fantastic supervision and help who had everything planned out for us! I couldn’t recommend this any more. A brilliant experience, incredibly fun and came out of it with a beautiful bench.

So pleased I made a call to ‘Little Island carpentry’ last year. I hadn’t even looked at the website but I liked the company name….good enough reason! We soon found out that Ross is extremely personable and his work is immaculate. He takes such pride in doing things well and our hall cupboard looked really smart & tidy after he had installed shelving and built housing around the electric meter & fuse box. Recently he went above and beyond when asked to install new kitchen cupboard doors for us….We thought the carcasses would be ok as the apartment is fairly new. However it turned out they were all out of alignment due to initial poor installation. Many others may have covered this up…but not Ross…thankfully! He set to making everything right before fixing the new doors and now we have a brand new kitchen - it’s perfect in every way. Ross never complains and always looks for solutions. His knowledge and commitment to his work is outstanding He is also a genuinely nice person and I cannot recommend him highly enough - you won’t be disappointed.

Ross and Jack built our home ground floor timber frame extension measuring 10m x 8m. They were excellent from start to finish, communication and advice were given throughout and they are returning in October to fit the kitchen. We would recommend them without any reservation.

Wescott recently installed our new Velfac windows. From initial site survey to completion, they were professional; competitively priced and communicated everything in a timely and courteous manner. Would highly recommend if you're looking for someone to fit Velfac windows.

We have just recently finished a large project and the Westcott Team fitted Velfac windows for us . As usual they did a good job , polite craftsmen. They have done a few installations for us over the past years and they have done a good efficient job. If using them for windows you do need to ensure that you read the quote as you have a number of things to do to be ready for when they come to them to fit. We will use them again .

Very professional from start to finish. Our windows install has just completed and were very happy with work done by Westcott Construction. The attention to detail and care taken was exceptional. Several very large/heavy windows were installed and they are millimetre perfect. The Westcott employees take a real sense of pride in their work. Would recommend without reservation.

I used Westcott Construction for the second time during my renovations on bungalow. Okay, this is 'just' a domestic sized job, but for me I had two Velfac patio/sliding doors installations to do and was a big project for me. As mentioned before I used Westcott on a previous two door installation and had no hesitation to ask them to do my latest installation. I found Gina very helpful during the time of 'fitting' my job in and around larger jobs Westcott were involved with.. I believe in talking to whoever you are dealing with to 'get things right' just in case we missed anything and it works with these guys. The installers were on time and very thorough in ensuring the doors worked as Velfac would expect (and me of course).. Thanks to all.

Great job converting our old utility room into a proper room which we are now able to use. Involved installing new roof and plastering interior. An amazing tradesman - Darren knows his stuff and does a great job. Highly recommended!

Mark came to refurb our staircase and has done an excellent job! Took care and tried to work us as we have toddler who naps. Explained the job as he went along and cleaned up along the way. I would highly recommend Mark!

Booked Mark to fit 4 internal doors after he did such a great job fitting a kitchen worktop for us. Mark arrived on the day agreed, on time. Measured the individual frames (all different sizes!), removed the old doors, cut the doors to size, fitted the door handles & added an additional hinge for each door. During his visit, Mark was friendly, professional & tidied up after he'd finished the job. He cut the old doors in half to make it easier for me to dispose of them. And he took away some wood that needed to be edged / bevelled as he didn't have the tools woth him and returned it a couple of days later which I will be making into a table. New doors look great (still need to be painted though) & fit perfectly. Another great job by Mark. Again, woud happily recommend Mark for your woodwork needs. Thanks Mark.

Mark came and refurbished our banister. When he came to assess the job he discussed style and materials with us to ensure he knew what we envisaged for our home. We agreed a date for the work. He let us know traffic was making him a few minutes late arriving. He coped magnificently with the uneven wall and woodwork which the house builder had left us. The resulting job looks very good. 1st Carpentry installed a new kitchen (supplied by Howdens) including tiling and electrics, built two alcove cupboards and converted our under-stairs storage. Dean's skill, experience, and work ethic is second to none. He went out of his way to make sure every aspect of his work was as good as possible. He even fixed issues he noticed while he worked at no extra cost. The custom-made cupboards fit perfectly into two alcoves with different dimensions, and Dean ensured we were happy with every aspect of the design. He coordinated several other contractors to ensure the install went as smoothly as possible, and was very careful to keep dust and noise to a minimum. We won’t use anyone else. Whilst looking for someone to install our new kitchen we were recommended Dean at 1st Carpentry by another contractor we use regularly. Dean provided a quote – initially for kitchen install but expanded to lounge/entry/understairs refresh. We felt instantly at ease with Dean. We were impressed by his eye for detail and suggestions for bringing our vision to life. Dean managed the whole project including arranging the floor installer, electrician and plasterer. Dean was polite, punctual, tidy and was always available to answer questions (and believe me we had A LOT). Despite unexpected ‘problems’ in our home - from potential asbestos tiles, to a leaking waste pipe, to exposed live wiring, to delivery of our Wren kitchen with wonky units and badly damaged doors – nothing phased Dean and he was quick to offer solutions. Throughout his knowledge and expertise really showed. Not content on just re-plastering/repainting, Dean fixed problems caused by other contractors in the house and also replaced all of our architraves and boxed in our exposed pipework to give a truly fresh look; things that we had never considered. GE Carpentry provide a super service from start to finish and come highly recommended. Gavin's skills are second to none; he is a truly gifted carpenter and has very high standards. He is brilliant at design, and tailoring to the needs of his clients. Gavin has completed several jobs in my house. Most recently, he fitted new doors throughout my home; not the easiest of tasks with a mixture of imperial and metric, and not one straight frame. Gavin and Troy did a super job, so pleased with the results. They arrived on time and in good spirits every day - a pleasure to have working in my home. I would recommend Gavin to anyone.

A fine bespoke bookcase was designed, made and fiited by Gavin. It started as an idea, he then created a wonderful bookcase of which I'm so proud, it is an awesome piece of furniture. He was professional, a clean worker and it is a fine piece of craftsman work, highly recommended.
