Alex fitted a new lock to my door. He also cut and fitted smoke safety strips and a new letterbox. I booked this with Nigel. They both turned up and were polite and punctual. The work was carried out to a high standard in about 90 minutes. I found it difficult to find someone willing to do these tasks but Nigel and Alex were willing to. I strongly recommend them

Very happy with our new gaming table, it's solid and robust (glad I opted to have the legs as removable, I don't think it would have fit through the door otherwise!). Each of the four "leaves" fit together nicely. We purchased a plastic cover to go under the table cloth to help protect any spillages from reaching the baize mat. We have had a couple of games on it already and it has the cat's approval for comfort. Communication with the company was good throughout. Would recommend for board gaming enthusiasts!

Stuart and the team were incredibly helpful, making the entire process seamless. Ordering wood online can be challenging, but they provided samples to help us find the perfect colour and designed the wall dividers to fit flawlessly. Excellent service—I highly recommend them!

Andy and Pete consistently confirmed that we'd made the right decision when we asked them to build a single storey extension onto the back of our house and a replacement porch. They were not only highly skilled, patient, honest, trustworthy and communicative, they (and their team) were just great people to have around. That's pretty vital when they are going to spend months on your project! They used their vast experience and network to quickly resolve any challenges which arose and have left us with a life changing extension that we enjoy each and every day. The gorgeous extension is filled with light due to an apex roof housing two Velux windows and a complete wall of bifold doors with glass gable end. The Utility Room houses our white goods at a raised level for ease of use and our very swanky porch (!) is rendered as per the bottom half of the entire house. Quite a transformation! For your interest I attach before, during and after photos of their work here in Chandler's Ford We would not hesitate to recommend them.

A few friends of ours recommended Bassett Carpentry for our kitchen extension. We couldn’t be happier with the work and would recommend them to anyone else. Our extension was not straight forward but Andy & Pete were so easy to deal with. They were honest and upfront with costs, and kept to the agreed price plans. Their team who completed the electrics and plumbing were also superb. We were very nervous as this was our first project, but Bassett Carpentry exceeded all expectations and did the perfect job. Andy and Pete, with Nick and Graham, carried out our loft conversion this year and we are so happy with their work. What we liked best was their time-keeping (they ran exactly to schedule) and costing (they ran exactly to quote, except for some extras that we requested). As important was their pleasantness in working with. They are very courteous, great communication, and any problems were listened to carefully and a sensible solution found. Our project was quite large (dormer L-shape loft conversion, complete reroof, chimney repoint, 2 new bathrooms and fitted cupboards and wardrobes). Their workmanship is of a very high standard and we strongly recommend them.

BM Carpentry and Building did some work do or me recently (Sept 2023) at my house, to repair and replace some rotten woodwork around my French door and adjacent windows. Brett and Wes did a great job. They came out and discussed it in detail with me first, then subsequently came out and completed the job in a single day. The work done was of good quality, at a fair price and they left things clean and tidy. I had used their services previously once before, a couple of years ago on a bigger job when I was having my house re-roofed and had the same very positive experience then. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BM Carpentry and Building!

Brett built a bespoke pottery studio for us and we are really pleased. It was a slightly awkward space but he understood what we wanted and gave us the best design and quote. BM Carpentry and Building recently reconstructed our kitchen, dining room and hallway into a modern spacious kitchen diner, including replacing double glazed rear door and two windows. We are very pleased with the finished spacious room. BM Carpentry and Building employed supporting specialist tradesmen who were also very professional. As a result of the great experience, we are having fury work by them. We would highly recommend them.

I asked Paul to deal with a number of jobs, including repairs to timber sash windows, boarding over an outside doorway, and repairing fencing. I am very pleased with the results. Paul is a lovely man. He always arrived on time and left everything tidy. Price was reasonable too. Highly recommend.

Booked Mark to fit 4 internal doors after he did such a great job fitting a kitchen worktop for us. Mark arrived on the day agreed, on time. Measured the individual frames (all different sizes!), removed the old doors, cut the doors to size, fitted the door handles & added an additional hinge for each door. During his visit, Mark was friendly, professional & tidied up after he'd finished the job. He cut the old doors in half to make it easier for me to dispose of them. And he took away some wood that needed to be edged / bevelled as he didn't have the tools woth him and returned it a couple of days later which I will be making into a table. New doors look great (still need to be painted though) & fit perfectly. Another great job by Mark. Again, woud happily recommend Mark for your woodwork needs. Thanks Mark.

Mark came and refurbished our banister. When he came to assess the job he discussed style and materials with us to ensure he knew what we envisaged for our home. We agreed a date for the work. He let us know traffic was making him a few minutes late arriving. He coped magnificently with the uneven wall and woodwork which the house builder had left us. The resulting job looks very good. He put down covers and cleaned up after working. We would definitely recommend Mark.

Lewis advised and replaced the bannisters on our stairs. He did a great job and was polite and courteous. I will be using his services again…. And I did, this time to replace all our internal doors with oak ones. Craig and Garath did an amazing job; they were really friendly and polite and left no mess.

The experience from start to finish has been fantastic! I was given a really reasonable quote, and though additional costs were added (due to extra work which needed to be carried out) these were also really reasonably priced and I was kept well informed about it before the work was carried out. I'd also discovered what can only be described as a nightmare of hidden pipework under the old larder (before work was due to be carried out), and though my own worries about this caused delays with the work starting, Lewis was really supportive in addressing this and was really quick to respond to all of my concerns. Garath fitted my new cabinets, moved my extractor fan/boxing, replaced my windowsill and also worked on a few extra areas in the kitchen and I'm honestly impressed with how good it all looks! All his work has been topnotch and throughout the process he was always polite and took the trouble to answer any questions I had. Work was also finished really quickly which was a bonus! My thanks to you both - can't recommend highly enough!

Christian made us a beautiful handcrafted bespoke wall cabinet to house a collection of precious rocks and crystals. The craftsmanship and quality of finish is fantastic. It all started with a room partition. Christian made the job evolve to what I wanted but could not explain!……and four jobs later he is still helping me make my house a home. So pleased to have found such a great craftsman who gets it just right. As if he was reading my mind. Nothing is too much of a problem as demonstrated by the front door/porch renovation. It looks fabulous! Just worried about giving him such a good review as I have so much work for him to complete so cannot share yet. It is a pleasure having him work on my house and he cleans up after himself….bonus!
