Having an intermittent electrical fault that prevents a car from starting is a nightmare, especially when the car is eventually taken to a service agent and the fault refuses to reappear. This is what happened with my SMax. On my first visit to Virtu at Shirley, the technicians found the history was riddled with error messages that were cleared, but no sign of the fault reappearing. Sods law prevailed and the next day the fault reappeared. I was asked to return the car as soon as possible for more checks. As I could manage without the car it was left with Virtu for the next five days. Although the fault never appeared, technicians carried out exhaustive checks and being concerned that there may be rodent damage to some cables in the engine bay were stripped, reworked and insulated in areas behind the engine and battery. During all of this time Mobeen, in the reception area kept me fully updated with the findings and obtained my agreement for various work to be carried out. Whilst there is no absolute certainty that the work carried out has resolved the problem, so far it has not reoccurred. The dedication and determination by the technical staff to identify and resolve the problem has been most commendable and the regular contacts and updates from Mobeen confirmed a high level of professionalism. Whilst I don’t think anyone is certain that the problem has been resolved, I doubt that more could have been done by anyone to sort it out. I now have my fingers firmly crossed that it has been and thank Virtu staff for their perseverance.
