Thank you to the ladies at Ida Lodge for organising and providing a fabulous afternoon tea for me and my beautiful sister's, daughter in law's and grandaugher to celebrate my 70 birthday. This was one of the nicest afternoon teas I have had and a wonderful surprise. Thank you girls I love you all to bits. We can happily recommend.

One of the best breakfasts I have had for a while definitely worth a trip to try one and very good on price

Went yesterday for Mothers Day. There were two sittings, with us being on the second sitting. The change over was pretty noisy and a bit chaotic, but once that was sorted things quietened down a lot. The Staff were really lovely. Really friendly and worked their socks off as it was so busy. Nothing was too much trouble for them at all. The Food was lovely too. Three course Mothers Day special for around £12. I had Yorkshire puddngs for starter which were lovely. Lamb with veg for mains and a lemon posset with shortbread for dessert. Every bit of it was lovely, with the dessert being my absolute favourite of the day. Bottle of wine were very reasonably priced too. Not like some places charging you £40 for a £12 bottle. A nice bottle here was £14. The main question is would I come back? I absolutely would. Lovely food at a very reasonable price. Many Thanks

Three cheers for Mandy! She put on the most amazing spread in the Bistro for a big family event. Every taste and preference was catered for, the food was lovely, and the price was SO reasonable. Mandy's fantastic effort really made our event go even better than we could have imagined. Thank you so much Mandy. You're a star.

Alexanders Deli & Catering Service
399 Otley Old Rd, Cookridge, Leeds LS16 7DF, UK | Cafe P: 0113 267 8877
Rating: 4.8 (79) Price Level:
We ordered delivery for the first time today and honestly it was absolutely banging. The doubled up breakfast sandwich was huge-usually when we get breakfast sandwiches the bacon is always a letdown, undercooked and greasy but this was literally cooked to perfection! Crispy bacon in our breakfast sandwiches! Love it! All our food was absolutely gorgeous. We have ordered from other local places for sarnies and paid double the price, Alexanders absolutely smashed them out of the park. Well impressed, will be back!

Got a tuna salad, crisps, carrot cake all very nice 😋 chips good. Nice inside and staff very friendly, will try eating in next time
Rating: 5 / 5
Highly recommended 😋👌🏻 Alexander catered for my grandma's 90th Birthday party last week at Adel social club and every single guest from the 8 year olds to the 95 year olds all commented on how delicious the food was! Alex even prepared a generously portioned separate meal for my father with special dietary requirements (vegan with additional food sensitivities) and my dad was really impressed! He arrived on time to lay out the food before the party and then came back after to clear away what was left before the end of our use of the venue, with such friendly and helpful service every step of the way! Thanks so much! As well as the deli, if you need event catering - Alexander is your guy! 👍🏻

This place is an absolute gem. Tried it just before Xmas and now will be a regular customer. Tried loaded fries with buffalo sauce, excellent. Then my partner and I tried poutine which was plentiful and lathered in gravy alongside a tuna melt bagel. We were stunned how big it was, absolutely stuffed with filling. Today, tried Philly Cheese bagel (pictured) and it was massive and contained a ton of pastrami. It fell apart because it had so much filling but a messy meal has it's own charm. We're buzzing that we live close to it... gunna try everything on the menu!

Lovely location, parking, decorated nice and friendly staff. Food was very good, especially for the money. That was exactly how I would make a burger at home. Will definitely use again. Better than OBC.

Bare Coffee

Edit** visited again (on a Saturday ~10am) and managed to bag the last almond croissant! It was absolutely divine. The filling was perfectly sweet, the exterior was crusty but the middle was soft. So good! Definitely a treat. This is my favourite almond croissant I've had so far in my quest. I tried the iced latte this time as well and that was delicious as well. Partner enjoyed his pan au chocolate. Will definitely be back Came here for an almond croissant, but unfortunately they'd run out by the time we got there (~11am Saturday). Instead we got a regular croissant and some coffee. They have limited outdoor seating, and it was raining so we took everything to-go. The croissant was lovely. I always brace for disappointment when I order an oat latte and it comes in a big latte cup, however this was the first time that I've ordered one like that and the coffee is still nice and strong. Loved the coffee, will be back again some day and hopefully get to try the almond croissant (I'm on a quest to find my favourite one).

Amazing coffee and great bakes. We also buy local honey from them. There is no much place to sit but could be perfect for take away or if the weather is good to sit outside.

Probably the best organic food you could find in the whole of Leeds! Everything made in this little place is made with 100% pure love! Great place to buy local fruit, veg, bread, milk, eggs, tea, coffee......take your reusable bag- these guys don’t deal with single use plastics!!!!

Lovely little gem of a coffee shop! Didn’t know it was here until someone mentioned it. Cappuccinos divine… Lovely atmosphere. And local grown produce. Highly recommended. Nice service too.

Quirky cafe selling organic vegetables, savoury pastries, brownies to die for and great coffee. There is no sign and it doesn't look like it's high quality, but all the products we've tried have been amazing and the locals all know about this place. It's a little hidden down Weetwood Lane, but definitely worth a trip. Lots of Parking here, but we walked. Staff are super friendly too :)

York Gate Garden
Back Church Ln, Adel, Leeds LS16 8DW, UK | Garden P: 0113 267 8240
Rating: 4.8 (503) Price Level:
Visited the garden on 3rd September. Although it only has limited parking we had no problems finding a space. We were greeted at the entrance by a friendly and informative guide who gave us a brief overview of the gardens and amenities. As it was close to lunchtime the first stop was the cafe. This has a large seating both inside and in the garden. The food was good, we both had Paninies which were very good and at a good price. The facilities are spotlessly clean. You can visit the cafe without having to pay entry to the garden. The garden although is only 1 acre the design crams in so many small gardens and walkways it seems so much larger. The planting and hard landscaping is wonderful and is well worth the visit. Price is £7 which is very reasonable and even better is part of the gardeners world 2 for 1 ticket offer. The annual price is also a very cheap option at only .£30. There is also a shop and also plant sales again at reasonable prices. I would highly recommend a visit

A truly magical gem that surprises and delights. One of the most peaceful and restorative spaces I've had the pleasure to spend time in. This place couldn't fail to bring joy to all who visit. The sheer pleasure of being immersed in such a tranquil space can be seen on the faces of every single volunteer. It's a little escape from the hustle and bustle of life beyond the gate.

Visited here for the first time. What a beautiful garden with plants we've never seen before, a meadow with around 10 beehives, and a lovely cafe. A real gem, we will visit again next year. Cheers guys.
Rating: 5 / 5
An absolute hidden gem! One of the most beautiful garden to visit in Yorkshire!! Plenty of interest everywhere you looked. There’s lots of different areas to wander and seating in places to marvel at the fantastic handiwork. The cafe had seating both inside and out with a good selection of food and drink. Plenty of parking spaces alongside a gift shop and plant nursery. Highly recommend visiting if you love gardens!!!

York Gate is a delightful one-acre Grade II National Heritage Garden created by the Spencer family. It delights with a succession of linked gardens (or "rooms"as they are known) which take their design inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement and were developed thanks to the horticultural skills of its owner Sybil Spencer and developed between 1951 and 1994. Each individual "room" has its own beauty and interest, with a wealth of plants, shrubs and trees, some immediately recognisable, others much more exotic! There are several water features and unusual structures and stonework, a meadow with beehives plus varied and intricate pathways linking the different "rooms". I was fortunate to visit as part of a National Trust garden volunteer's group and had the benefit of a guided tour given by the affable and knowledgeable Head Gardener, who explained how the garden has evolved and continues to do so. There is also a cafe, shop and plant nursery on the site. It is most definitely worth a visit and cannot fail to impress and inspire!

Coffee 7

Rating: 5 (25) Price Level:
I’ve visited Coffee 7 three times, and it just keeps getting better! The coffee is always exceptional—smooth, rich, and expertly made. But the food is what truly elevates the experience. From freshly baked pastries to hearty, flavorful dishes, everything is prepared with care and tastes incredible. On one visit, I had a delicious sandwich bursting with fresh ingredients; another time, I indulged in their sweet treats that perfectly complemented my cappuccino. The cozy atmosphere and warm service make Coffee 7 an absolute standout in Leeds.

Visited here quite a few times with my mum and every time still greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. Nothing is too much effort for the owners. The menu caters to all and the food is very tasty especially the chicken mayo sandwich. With great coffee and tasty pastries to accompany you can sit back and relax to a serene soundtrack playing in the background. A calming environment and wonderful food. Thankyou to the both of you.

I was visiting the area from Sheffield and came across this lovely place. I was greeted at the door by Ali who was an absolute gentleman. We had coffee, hot chocolate and a sausage wrap, all were amazing. Ali told us he had only been open for a couple of weeks, this place was really nice with a friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this highly and we will visit again if we are in the area. Top place 👌🏼

Coffee 7 is a gem! I recently tried their Chicken Mushroom Salami Sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with tender chicken, savory mushrooms, and flavorful salami in every bite. The bread was fresh and toasted to perfection, adding the right crunch. What truly stood out, though, was the atmosphere and staff. The café has a warm and inviting vibe, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. The decor is modern yet cozy, creating a comfortable environment. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. Overall, Coffee 7 delivered not just amazing food but also an exceptional experience. Highly recommend visiting for the great food and wonderful ambiance!

Been there a couple of times so far and will definitely go again . Food was so tasty and impeccable service from Mr Ali and his staff. The place is warm and friendly. As a driving instructor I sometimes have gaps between lessons, this is an ideal place to chill and the menu is superb . Finally everything is halal so it's easy for me to order what I like . I would not hesitate to recommend coffee 7 to all my fellow driving instructors, friends and relations .

We ladies met as a group here to knit & crochet, chat & eat & what a lovely space to meet at! The drinks & food were all fabulous, tasty & hot. Extremely good value for money & how friendly were the staff!? We felt like old friends 😃 Perfect! Just perfect!

It’s been a while since my last visit !! I was invited to a meeting taking place in the “sunshine “ room and I knew from my last visit that this must be further work in progress! I parked outside and the first thing I noted was that the old entrance had been filled in . I was directed around the side of the building and up a gently sloping wide ramp to another large entrance. There are railings all the way up the ramp for safety and help for mobility . It also prevents a drop onto the old steps too. The new doorway is double glazed sliding doors and leads into a corridor. Situated here too is a disabled toilet 🚾 wheelchair Accessible and fitted with visual impairment handrails too . To my right a large double door leading into the “sunshine” room . It was a very sunny day and the room was bathed with light even with the blinds closed ! Very appropriate name . This was the meeting room today and also in an alcove is a very modern little kitchenette. A good sized meeting room without crazy acoustics !! All floors flat and level and no trip hazards! A real jewel in the crown of the LS16 community . Still work to do outside and the bees 🐝 were busy in the parts that had been cleared and planted .

Attended the Strength & Balance Class and was greeted with a warm welcome. I must say, it's a relaxing place with a great ambience and the café is like an oasis. It feels like home and the staff are very receptive. The facilities are really user friendly for people who have a disability, good ♿wheelchair access, 🚾 toilets and 👨👩👧👧family orientated, a space for all. I have not tried out the cafe yet but from what I have seen so far it looks delightful and I look forward to trying it out real soon. Also good transport service too, whether you prefer the bus or train. If you have not visited yet, I urge you to give it a try!
Rating: 5 / 5
This place is a real little gem in the community. Since buying the old run down pub it used to house there has been a huge transformation. The cafe is really welcoming, plenty of space, kids corner, fully accessible. There is a car park at the rear, bus stop across the road (no 6 and 19) and Horsforth train station isn't far either. No excuse not to go and visit! Amazing staff, friendly atmosphere, really good selection of food (the cake!!!) and great coffee! As you can probably tell, I rather like it!!

Great place to visit, so welcoming and friendly it is like you have been a friend for years even if it is your first visit. They have something going on every day, from lunches where you an get a warm meal to games afternoons where you can meet new friends and have a laugh. They also have nurses dropping in to help with any bandage dressing you may require and advise on any health problems. To many events to list so recommend looking on their website, which is something they also help with. Highly recommended.

Good hearty homemade Caribbean grub! Decent portions and value for money. Good vibes and friendly service. 🤌
Rating: 5 / 5
Delicious Caribbean food along with much traditional home town fare. The Staff and Owner are quite Delicious too 😋
Rating: 4 / 5
Ordered - Cool Runnings (with curried goat) £14. Overall I’d rate this meal 6/10. The curried goat was very tasty, would recommend. The jerk wings weren’t good, definitely pre-cooked and reheated (not grilled) no real flavour. Same for Mac&cheese, pre-cooked, had foil all over bottom and was very rigid and barely warm. Rice & peas didn’t come with Caribbean gravy ,or spicy sauce which was a shame. In fact, the whole meal was tame on the spice front. Glad I tried but won’t be rushing back.
Rating: 5 / 5
Very tasty authentic Caribbean dishes especially the goat curry. It is not too oily and the accompanying steamed veg and rice is really good. Pleasant and kind staff. Will be back!

Hadn't tried Caribbean food before but saw this place and called in for lunch. Very helpful staff who made suggestions. Ended up having curried goat, curried chicken, rice and peas, dumplings, mac and cheese, plantain and coleslaw between two of us. Food was delicious and the portions were generous. Will definitely be back.

House of Koko - Chapel Allerton
62 Harrogate Rd, Chapel Allerton, Leeds LS7 4LA, UK | Brunch Restaurant P: 0113 262 1808
Rating: 4.6 (637) Price Level:
First time today with my daughter. I must say the food truly exceeded my expectation. It was very busy at the time and we were told to wait outside with the outdoor heating on. We were given a table inside fairly quickly. Not many cafes would do Turkish eggs and I’ve tried this at 3 different cafes and by far House of Koko is by far the best. The bread came with it was thick and fluffy. We’ll definitely be back again!

Popped in for coffee, while I waited for my wife to have her eye operation, but ended up having a very nice breakfast indeed - it's not very often I'm in this neck of the woods living out York way, but with the wife going in for eye surgery at a local hospital and a wait of a couple of hours, no point in travel back home to turn round an come straight back. Thats why the coffee hunt, so glad I did - good strong coffee with a very nice eggs royale, on an english muffin. Spot on and service was excellent

We came here for breakfast to celebrate our anniversary. Great atmosphere, helpful staff and brilliant coffee. I really enjoyed decaf flat white and special juice including ginger, mint, apple etc❤️🔥 Highly recommended.

We visited on the day they were releasing their new menu and the food was absolutely unreal. So beautiful and so tasty. They have nailed it! I had the smashed peas. Everyone working was so lovely and one of the chefs even came out to deliver a sauce and explained what was in it and a bit about the food. Can tell they were excited about the new menu and for good reason. Can’t recommend it enough.
