Busy, friendly, comfortable. Good coffee, great service where your custom clearly matters and theres great attentiontodetail in furnishings and decor. Food packed with flavour and nicely presented. Lots of space indoors, a bit of seating outside is a bit too close to the road for me. Parking out back.

This is my go to place to hang out as a self employed creative type who doesn't like the hustle and bustle of the big chains. Chilled out vibe, great service, great service, great coffee ☕ and food. I'm always warmly welcomed. What more do you want? Check it out you won't be disappointed 👍

We’ve been to Old Coffee Mill several times over the last few months and I think it’s now my favourite local place for food and drink. The coffee and brunch/lunch/cake are all delicious and the service so friendly. The place is super cosy and beautifully decorated, right down to the toilets! You can tell the people running it think about every little detail, even down to how they present a slice of cake on the plate. That might sound silly but it’s definitely a point of difference from any chain. I expect to be coming lots more :)

I've eaten breakfast regularly in this place for 14 years, originally when Dawn was the owner. Nicky took over a couple of years ago. She was previously the deputy manager at the Tartan Cafe next door and bought the business from Dawn. I own the business over the road from here, West Riding Personal Financial Solutions Ltd, so if you want to verify this review, call me. The number's on our sign outside. You can find us on Google maps and Facebook, as well as our own website. You can ignore the malicious tripe written by Steve White. The food and drinks are fine, very tasty, and great value. The service is excellent, fast, and friendly. I don't know what his problem is, but it's no secret that there are other establishments in town who are jealous of Nicky's success. Go eat there yourself and make your own mind up.

We had a wonderful time in Samuel Valentines. A welcome stop on our walk from St Aidens RSPB and back. The staff were super friendly even though they were very busy. They said food might be a long wait but we were eating within 25 minutes and it was beautiful. The best quiche I've ever had. It was goat's cheese and fig. We will definitely be going again.

Fancied going somewhere different to my local area, but didn't want to drive in to Leeds due to marathon road closure. After searching on Google and Facebook stalking we decided to pop over to Samuel Valentine. We sat outside on a lovely sunny day and was greeted by very friendly waitress with a great smile. Food came out quickly and tested very good!!! Me and my partner both shared and said our choices was spot on. Looking forward to visiting again as they have a different menu on a weekday compared to the all day breakfast menu on a Sunday Thank you for the great service and food

Just had afternoon tea at Valentines, my local deli. The best afternoon tea I’ve ever had. Lots of attention to detail and different savoury options, not just finger sandwiches. As for the cakes … to die for. Great value for money too. If you planning afternoon tea don’t go anywhere else. This deli never lets me down. Jan Lyth

Lovely cafe, where things are cooked to order. We had a breakfast and could choose for example how we wanted our eggs, and whether animal sausages or vegetarian. Various covid measures in place inc sanitiser by the entrance, and staff were friendly. Very nice breakfast.

Everything was first rate. Proper old-school cafe with lovely, friendly atmosphere, good service from happy staff and good choice of excellent food, at sensible prices. Only wish my appetite was bigger!

Popped into today for lunch as I was familiarising myself with the area. Staff where lovely, coffee is amazing, had a panini for lunch too which also tasted great! Really clever concept it's built inside a shipping container and you can park directly outside Seating available inside and out (you can also get coffee to go). Well worth a visit and good to support local businesses. Will certainly pop back .

Came here for brunch with a friend. Quaint little spot located in Wakefield. We ordered goat cheese starters with homemade sandwiches and chunky chips. Food was deliciously and good size portions. Sandwiches could be served on a selection of breads. We sat in the outside annex which was super lovely. What topped the experience for me was the incredible service from a lovely lady called Debbie. Nothing was too much trouble. She definitely made our experience - she is a credit to the team.

I had organised a meal for 17 people aged from 3 years to 80 years. The communication from the staff was brilliant from the beginning. On the evening nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the menu options are fab. Need to note that the gluten free menu has so many options which you don't often see. I would certainly hold a celebration meal here again.
