The Best Cafes in Kirkstall, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (2025)

Having driven past this quirky coffee shop many times on my visits to Leeds I was delighted to be able to visit (finally!) and was not disappointed . The service was friendly and quick. It is obviously very popular. My coffee and pain au raisin were both delicious. We were able to park around the corner . The decor is fun I hope to visit again soon.

Fika North coffee is a great spot in the Headingley area. The coffees and bagels are delicious and expertly made. The only issue is the limited space inside, which can make it challenging to find a free table, especially on weekends!

Always 10/10 coffee and bagels. The vegan pastrami is unreal and so are their chai lattes. The only reason I gave 1 less star for service is because they take a while on the bagels but honestly it’s so so worth the wait. We also got hot honey hash browns which were amazing too.

Came here for an almond croissant, but unfortunately they'd run out by the time we got there (~11am Saturday). Instead we got a regular croissant and a pan au chocolate. Both were lovely. We took them to-go. Next time we will arrive earlier and try for the almond croissant again (I'm on a quest to find my favourite almond croissant), and we need to try the coffee, too!

Popped in for breakfast after staying locally. Great food and service. My partner had the all day breakfast, was very happy with it, especially as it included black pudding! I had a giant tea cake which was just right for me. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area 🙌

Very friendly and polite staff, Food option was accommodated very well, Enjoyed the food and no complaints to that, Just could maybe do with some atmosphere in the down stairs seating. Well worth the visit and will be going again.

Best sandwich shop / cafe in Leeds! Everything I've had (sarnies, sausage rolls, cake) is made with good quality ingredients, very tasty and at a reasonable price. The bacon butty is excellent. And the staff are super friendly and really nice. An independent, local gem. Highly recommended.

Amazing coffee and great bakes. We also buy local honey from them. There is no much place to sit but could be perfect for take away or if the weather is good to sit outside.

Quirky cafe selling organic vegetables, savoury pastries, brownies to die for and great coffee. There is no sign and it doesn't look like it's high quality, but all the products we've tried have been amazing and the locals all know about this place. It's a little hidden down Weetwood Lane, but definitely worth a trip. Lots of Parking here, but we walked. Staff are super friendly too :)

Lovely little gem of a coffee shop! Didn’t know it was here until someone mentioned it. Cappuccinos divine… Lovely atmosphere. And local grown produce. Highly recommended. Nice service too.

Probably the best organic food you could find in the whole of Leeds! Everything made in this little place is made with 100% pure love! Great place to buy local fruit, veg, bread, milk, eggs, tea, coffee......take your reusable bag- these guys don’t deal with single use plastics!!!!

The café is aesthetically pleasing, with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The customer service is excellent, and most importantly, the COOKIES are absolutely delicious - gooey, yummy, and they look fantastic. They also offer croissants, brownies, and cakes. The coffee was amazing. We brought our toddler, and the staff kindly provided books and colors, which kept her entertained and calm.

We cannot recommend Chunk enough to people! We’re lucky to have it just at the end of our street and we can’t get enough of it! The atmosphere , service and quality is unmatched. Even better that it’s dog friendly so they can get their own little Puppucino’s whilst we have our baked goods / coffees. When we have family come to visit us we always make sure to take a trip with them too and they’ve all raved over it. Definitely worth the trip!

This is my new favorite coffee shop! Pastries to die for, I got the hazelnut knot - delicious! The latte was amazing as well. Great peaceful ambiance. I wish they did Uber Eats 😂 I can’t wait to be back!

Absolutely perfect. Lovely little cafe - friendly staff, quick service & the bakes are DELICIOUS. Not gimmicky or disappointing, they taste as good as they look or better even! Really fresh & straight up tasty af. And all vegan too. Can't wait to go again :)

Have been here for two times, great experience! The coffee is excellent, very well balanced and totally worth it. I really would like to try more different drinks there next time! The food here is simple but amazing and enjoyable. The space is cozy, with nice and kind services. Actually rather cheap compared to other places. A pleasantly remarkable experience even it’s only sandwich and coffee :)

This is an absolute gem of a place. The food is comforting, delicious and priced well. The staff go above and beyond. You can sit in or take food away. They really are amazing. My husband is now a regular, and my breakfast order somehow sneaks in there too :D Full English breakfast? Sorted. Tuna salad sarnie for lunch. Definitely. Fancy noodles? They have that too. I'm so grateful they are local.

What’s better than having a cup of hot coffee and a bowl of heart warming soup noodles in this winter? I always feel like home when I visit Legato. Love their friendly team and welcoming atmosphere. I guess that’s why I always call Legato House Breakfast as Home Breakfast🫶🏻Oh don’t forget to ask about the secret menu. You are going to be surprised🤭

I recently visited Cafe Enzo in Kirkstall after dropping my kids off at Gravity trampoline park., Seeking a good morning start I stumbled upon this charming spot on Main Street. Finding parking just across the cafe, I opted for a Hazelnut Latte extra hot. The two lovely ladies at the counter assumed I was there for breakfast, which caused a moment of disappointment when my coffee arrived, priced at £3.60 for a regular. Nevertheless, the coffee was satisfactory, service was decent, and the cafe's atmosphere and decoration were truly amazing. The only drawback was the slightly confusing services counter, lacking a designated spot for on-the-go orders. Despite this, I would recommend Cafe Enzo and plan to visit again.

I ordered a red velvet cake with a hot chocolate and a baileys coffee, the hot chocolate really surprised me also the cake was so soft and delicious. Will definitely be coming back and will recommend this place to friends and family.

Fantastic....in one word. We tried the full english breakfast and it was awesome. The cafe has nice and cool interiors. The stuffs are really cordial. This place can't be missed.

What a lovely evening we had. Catered for a big group of us for my son’s 21st birthday. Food was absolutely spot on and the service was brilliant. We were probably a bit loud when the drinks were flowing but these guys were amazing! Thank you so much

It was a good experience. Food was awesome. Service was also good. We order Wraps, Cappuccino, Nachos and Coffee Buttercream cake. Flavors of wraps was very hot and flavorful. The cake was very tempting taste of coffee. I felt the problem in Nachos(not recommended). I didn't like the sauce(dip), the chips was good.

Delighted to have this restaurant/cafe recommended to us. We received good service, nice, food served quickly. We had the halloumi starter. My friend was amazed at the size of the breaded Halloumi and chunky chips. Table red wine was nice. The mains were very tasty. Price was good - we took advantage of the early bird deal. Good wholesome food😀

On arrival, it was quiet. The place is clean and nicely set out. The breakfast menu had some good choices. We had the Full English breakfast and a bacon sausage and mushroom sandwich with a latte. (Please see photos attached) The coffee was very nice. The service was fairly quick, and the waiter was polite. It was well presented, and the food was decent. Compared to other places I've been to, it wasn't amazing, but it was more than good enough. They aren't very giving with the butter, though, so don't be afraid to ask for more. I think this place is more on the expensive side. Would come here again.

The food was fresh and lovely, and the owner was very kind! I had the chorizo, tomato and Brie toastie it was divine and we also got an all day bfast which was also an amazing portion for the price and was lovely. Will visit again if ever in town again and I would definitely recommend this place, the vibes were great 😊.

The vegetarian breakfast (£8.50) was delicious and good strong coffee (£3). Chilled vibe. Friendly staff.

The best kept secret in Kirkstall! Absolutely fantastic Turkish breakfast, top notch coffee and at extremely reasonable prices. I'm very confused why there isn't a queue out of the door, it's honestly right up there with the best breakfasts I've had anywhere. Amazing 😍

6 of us visited Mogs Cafe prior to a nice walk around Kirkstall Abbey, and back into Leeds along the canal. Wow, the food, and drinks here are great. We had a selection of meals, Mogs Special Burger, Panini's, Turkish egg dishes, coffees and milk shakes. All top notch. Nice friendly service too, and very well priced. We all came away feeling very full, and very happy

First time we had a full breakfast,it was delicious and really good value for money. Highly recommend. We will be back. And as always the Kinder Milkshake was amazing!

Mog’s is one of the best vegan places around when you crave a tasty dirty burger and fries. My go to meal is the spicy boi, but my husband loves the donut burger. Both are fabulous and don’t forget to get a dessert alongside it all. The cheesecakes are to die for - especially the biscoff flavored one. Mog’s quality is so good and the staff are so friendly. I recommend this place to everyone. 🌱

I've only been once a few months ago and the coffee was really good. Friendly ladies working there,and I got to meet Gizmo the dog!!! Right on!!! I'll be back.

I adore this lovely place. The staff are something else, pure love for them. Super friendly, always have a smile on their faces. Dog friendly. The food an drinks are great. Oh and don't get me started on the brownies and cakes that the Irish lady makes!! They're amazing ...... So so good.

This is a great spot to come and work for a few hours. There are plenty of different work zones in the space. There is some parking but not tons (of course you can just get the train). Food is fine, well priced, good portions and a variety of menu options. The coffee is also nice.

Lovely surroundings, friendly staff, home made food at reasonable prices and a great buzz/vibe. Yes it gets busy over lunchtime which is why its best to order early rather than clog up the system. Michelle and her team work really hard to provide excellent customer service I cant understand the moans and groans about this place, surely quality is more important than price - if you want a plastic sandwich go to the supermarket as you only get what you pay for. Looking forward to my next visit and the delicious homemade soup 😊.
