Went in with some old friends for breakfast, Andrea and Karen made us feel really welcome and sorted us a bigger table straight away. The place is set up brilliantly for it, with a great toy corner to keep little ones entertained. Food was spot on and great value, good selection of drinks and homemade buns were an added bonus. Will definitely be in again, either with kids or just for a quiet coffee and a chat.

My friend and I preordered afternoon tea as a birthday treat for an elderly lady. On arrival our table was ready for us, and our food was served promptly and pleasantly. There was a good balance of savoury and sweet, and everything was very tasty. The staff were attentive, and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. Would certainly enjoy this again.

Food and beer range excellent and good quality. Strong menu. Service a little on the slow side, it does feel as if the kitchen/bar can’t keep up with the number of tables. Unfortunately, the pub was very loud on this visit which did make the atmosphere a little unpleasant.

On a little stroll in the countryside, my partner and i stumbled upon this lovely place where we had a drink and enjoyed the outside seating. Modernised pub with professional staff. Shame that the lady had to jump between reception and bar. Had to ask to be served, which is never good. It was not her fault. We enjoyed our drinks, and our journey continued.

We had a lovely lunch here. Fresh food, loads of flavour, great price and portions. The hot chocolate was one of the best we have had in a while.. and we took a couple of treats away for later

Fab first visit. Grown ups had panini's while the kids loved their waffles. Good menu, very nice quality and pleasant staff. Will definitely be back for another visit.

Customer service is lacking in many places these days but not here at Whisk. We were blown away by the kindness of the lady who served us. We had a whinging baby and a toddler and 4 of us who couldn't decide . But nothing was too much trouble. It's a long time since I've been served with such kindness. And then the food. My panini was amazing and everyone loved what they had and we took a cake box home with us. The millionaires shortcake was the best I've ever tasted. We can't wait to go again

You must stop here on your visit to Sandal Castle. The cafe has delicious food, drinks, great view of the castle ruins and excellent service by the friendly, helpful staff. Easy access from the castle ruins, the road or the car park. Full of history, the walls of the cafe are lined with boards telling you everything you need to know and about the 1460 Wakefield Battle! I highly recommend you drop in when you are in Wakefield.

Couldn’t recommend the grand cafe enough, 4 of us came for my mother’s birthday. We had booked for Sunday dinner however 2 of us preferred to eat off the main menu, Keely allowed us to do this earlier than we should have done and she was absolutely amazing and so hospitable throughout our whole visit. The food was amazing and we will definitely be coming back!

We went with friends on the 2 night New Year package, and we included a 3 hr Spa Package with afternoon tea. The hotel, setting, service, food were all excellent. All the rooms are large and individually designed. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room for the New Year Dinner & Dance was beautiful - and a special mention to the DJ, who played exactly the right music all night. Thank you for a great time.

Excellent value Sunday Lunch meal, with wine offer to which we added starters and desserts. All food was excellent and the setting is fantastic too. Greek starter was nice, beef excellent although the Yorkshire pudding was a little underwhelming, Sticky Toffee pudding very pleasant. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was nice, with a good ambience and in a really nice lake area.
