Lovely place for brunch/lunch or coffee. I got a coffee and cake. Great for kids too as they have a kids menu and drinks. Lots of seating and nice & chilled atmosphere with lots of plants upstairs. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Will definitely be coming back!

Undoubtedly one of the best cafes in the West Yorkshire county or may be the UK. Food is very delicious with a level of spice(which usually suits Indians). Ambiance is very good. The service is top notch and the peeps are very humble. Really glad to find this in Halifax.

Excellent coffee, good food and nice vibe. Service very relaxed, which an impatient Londoner like me might find a little frustrating. Portion too big for me, would be happy with less food and slightly lower price. Overall, well worth a visit if you’re a fan of barista made coffee.

We popped in here for a hot drink in the snow. Such a lovely place and such friendly, helpful staff who helped give directions so we wouldn’t be stranded in snow. Food and drinks were lovely and the coffee was delightful.

We called in today with our chihuahua Tikka - staff very friendly they are absolutely fantastic and gave our little girl some biscuits - coffee excellent and food 😋 yummy - we have a loyalty card and my new cup 🥤 so we will be back for more and Tikka will be back for more biscuits 😋

I had the full English breakfast at Thyme today. To say it was delicious is an understatement. Every part of the meal was top quality, and it was cooked to perfection. I didn’t catch the owner’s name, but she is obviously much more than a line cook, she’s a chef, and very good one. I’ll be back, often! Highly recommended!

Go in quite often. The food is the best in Elland, always a brilliant standard. The lady running the place is lovely and certainly knows what she's doing.

We have just had an absolute gorgeous evening roast delivered to us, it came in good time all still hot. This was a welcome tea whilst we have no kitchen, we will definitely be ordering again. 5 stars all day and our compliments to the chef! Thankyou!

A lovely cosy cafe run by two lovely ladies who always welcome you with a smile. Always pre-order over the phone so the food is ready for our arrival. Food quality is always fantastic and piping hot and is always a treat, especially the breakfast wrap which is my guilty pleasure.

My son goes here every morning for toast and a drink before school and he loves it. The hatch is such an easy way to have takeaway breakfast. We've eaten in too and the food is good value for money.

I discovered this brilliant little cafe on the edge of the town centre adjacent to the Shay. Lovely welcoming owners, also looked after Eddie with a free sliced sausage. Brilliant workmans style cafe with a huge breakfast and lunch menu, waffles, flatcakes etc. Does takeaway as well as eat in, plus vegetarian options. Chef said it could be a 15 min wait but we had our breakfast ( one full bfast, one mega) in under 5 mins. Prices really give excellent value for money. Faultless. Highly recommend

Was waiting at the hospital car park for a family member and saw this coffee shop was nearby. Ordered a takeaway coffee and it’s delicious! So many choices too. The guy who served me was also super friendly. Wish I had time to get a bagel too because the options for those looked great. Looked like there was plenty of seating area too. Got a nice little spot now for whenever I have to do the hospital runs 😊

A cute little cafe where we had a nice breakfast before Christmas shopping - they had a letters to Santa stand which was a nice touch. Smoothie was really nice and generously sized and the food was well-cooked and enjoyable with friendly service. Dog-friendly 🐕

Amazing quality and tasting coffee, great selection of cakes and doughnuts. Had the chorizo chicken bagel which was delicious 💕 and it’s dog friendly 🤎only advice would be to maybe have seating outside during summer? It would be so nice to enjoy coffee in the sun ☺️

THE ENGINE ROOM - Best Full English in Halifax, perhaps even Yorkshire. When I first looked at visiting Halifax in mid-December, I thought it looked rather bleak. But all the old wool carpet mills have been turned into an array of offices for various companies with cafes, restaurants and bars on the ground floors, and a Travelodge, where I stayed, at one end of Dean Clough Mills. The Engine Room is typical of finding a great cafe that really doesn’t look like much from the outside due to the stone built exterior and you wouldn’t know it’s a hidden gem. Inside there’s a large easy to read menu but best of all the prices for the food you receive, are absolutely worth every penny. I had been in an another cafe further in the town centre the day before for an all day breakfast but it was twice the price and nowhere near the quality of the Engine Room Full English. Tell me where else can you get what’s in my photo for £6.50 plus a hot drink for £2.60, all for well under a £Tenner these days? Food quality, the Full English is cooked to perfection. The mushrooms and small grilled tomatoes are a great touch, not swimming in tomato juice. Two lovely sausages and everything exactly as you want a cooked breakfast away from home to be. The Travelodge doesn’t do a cooked breakfast but it couldn’t compete with the Engine Room, if it did. Could anywhere in Yorkshire? There’s a challenge. I know where I’m going for breakfast, midday snacks and lunch the next time I’m in Halifax - The Engine Room.

EDIT - I went back this morning, we spoke about my previous order and they were very nice and understanding about it and it was partly due to new cookware differing the cooking times slightly. Safe to say I got the same sandwich only this time it was cooked to perfection!! Egg was overcooked and toast was undercooked, basic culinary science wouldn't go amiss here. Decent price though

Friendly, good service, nice grub, only thing marked down for is can be smokey from cooking which means clothes smell after. But otherwise we'll worth a call in good price and good grub and do extra large coffee and tea ☕ 👍

The food is good quality and great value. The staff are really friendly and always happy to see you. You can get a homemade hot meal for a fiver!! Where else can you get that.
