We went for the first time today but it wont be the last. Food and service were excellent and to top it all my husband left his reading glasses. Without hesitation they said they would post them to us without charge for postage! That sums up the quality of service from this very busy little cafe. Top marks and thank you for everything. X

Hidden away beside a small river in the middle of Holmfirth sits a jewel known only to the locals and a few passers by. Holme Coffee House is a little sanctuary from the chill after your walk with your canine friend. The friendly service, the soft lighting and the good music are the first things that welcome you, but the great coffee and amazing food will make you come back. Freshly cooked sausage and egg on a soft warm ciabatta with a small pot of brown sauce, I was even given a separate sausage for Trixie, nicely chopped up for her convenience. If you ever find yourself in Holmfirth, give them a visit and show them some love

A hidden gem in huddersfield! Very little shops around the world can compare to the care and relaxing atmosphere that this place offers. After visiting this shop for over 3 years I decided to take a Job as staff in this little place! To be able to reach and connect more with my community and promote myself as a private spanish teacher (completly succeded) I must say that the kindness, care, and loving heart of this place can not be measured in words. Congratulations, you are and always be the best coffee place in the world. I am so lucky to had found this.

We’re greeted with a warm welcome every time, the coffee is consistently spot on and made with care, the food is fantastic, and the cakes are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

My breakfast was top-notch and I got chatting to another customer, who seemed to be a regular. He told me it's always good at this cafe and recommended I come for lunch next time.

Been 4/5 times and always had a lovely meal- the specials change regularly and always have a good selection. It’s quite a small place so would recommend booking as it’s very popular and does fill up. Very accommodating and friendly staff. The kimchi tofu rice is fantastic and the Italian eggs were great. They also do a lovely pumpkin spiced latte that can be made either standard or iced (good for me as I love iced drinks!) must visit when in slawit

Brilliant spot to eat. I have been here a couple times recently after going for a walk. First of all the staff are lovely and welcoming. The variety of food is great and i ended up choosing off the specials. I had a Korean pork belly and beef burger which was 10/10, can’t recommend highly enough. I’ve also been before and had the breakfast skillet which is also a great fry up. All the food is well priced and good portions. Thanks

We have eaten here many times, but last trip we brought my sister who is coeliac. She thought everything was excellent, and was very impressed with the quality of the gluten free meals. Her only regret? That she didn't live closer so she could come every Sunday for brunch 😀

Had a lovely brunch here with my wife and our friend. Fantastic welcome from the attentive and friendly staff. Menu is broad but not overwhelming, with options for all tastes. Coffee is high quality and made for those who appreciate a very good cup. Food was made by people who care about flavour and pesentation, and you can see and taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The service was quick and easy, and felt tended to, but not pressured. Atmosphere is lovely, with super chill music and pleasant decoration. Overall; clean, tasty, sensible prices and lovely people. Will 100% go back.

A cafe in a rural setting. Dog friendly. Nice selection of brunch/lunch foods on the menu as well as cakes. The coffee had a good flavour and was a good value. Their small car park fills up quickly but there's wide enough roads around to park your car. Of the things I'd like to see done differently is to set the egg whites slightly more as my egg's white was very runny (but thanks to that the yolk was perfectly runny). I do however hate a solid yolk so I've got to be careful what I am wishing for. There's a public footpath at the end of Field Lane if you fancy stretching your legs. Overall a good place and we'll be back.

We used Field for their external catering services on our wedding day. Jo was helpful throughout the whole experience in arranging and organising our menu and day. The team on the day, and set up before, were friendly and helpful. All of our guests have commented on how good the food was - Ploughman’s starter, roast dinner with all the trimmings and afternoon tea style desserts. Thank you so much for helping making our special day perfect!

Wild Cafe

Rating: 4.9 (120) Price Level:

This place is very special. Apart from a cafe, it has 3 spas, rooms to let, a shop with beautiful ceramics, 2nd hand clothes and accessories. It is right outside the village, but feels like in the middle of nowhere as it's so well mingled into the surrounding absolutely gorgeous nature. A very romantic place. The cafe itself is homey and has good vegen and vegetarian food. I really liked my goat cheese, apple and walnut salad bowl, as well as the citrus tart I had for dessert. My husband liked his goat cheese sandwich and enjoyed very much his brownie.

Very nice vegetarian restaurant. Nice decor and pleasant service. Dogs are allowed inside. We really liked the food (gyros and shawarma) and that comes from people who aren't vegetarians. Coffee was great and so was the cheesecake. There's a parking close to the cafe, but it's rather small and the road surface is bad. You could park further down/up, along Manchester Road as we did. Edit: on 27th of July 2024 the place was busy. Parking was an issue, luckily we got a table but the space was cramped. Service pleasant as always but it took a long time to be served. The food was good apart from the shawarma being somewhat out of balance. It had way too salty seitan and not enough tzatziki. Great coffee!

Within the café is a little shop area, with cards and gifts. We loved it here and will certainly go back! I had a smoothie and the fruitcake loaf, which was super delicious and my friend had tea & cake. Great vegan options! Highly recommend!

Was recommended this place for some real greasy breakfast! It was my husbands bday morning and we were greeted very pleasantly. They proactively asked if we would like our food cooked in a separate pan due to dietary requirements which was lovely. The food was delicious and the chef came out with a complimentary cake slice and candle to wish my husband a happy birthday. Service from all the staff was impeccable! Very homely and friendly vibe.

I came here as my car was being fixed up the road, miles from home inwas, never been in this remote area before so walked down the street and found this place. I had a breakfast whilst i sat gazing out the window at the passing cars not knowing what to do with myself and the time. I explained I was waiting for my car which was in a garage up the road and was at a complete lost lose end in a new place. The owner was very very nice, he came up to me and told me free tea refills with a breakfast order while I sat and waited killing time. Very polite and friendly and it made me feel like comfortable. 5 stars and thank you for being so friendly to a complete stranger.

Lovely little cafe, with great staff. It's suffering with the pandemic, in that the staff who used to work in the building are now working from home, so the trade has slowed and the cafe now shuts at about 1pm. The sweet guy that runs it is having to work two jobs. It was always a haven of peace and restfulness in a stressful place - carefully chosen furniture and decorations, for a secluded vibe within an otherwise busy location. It's terrible that it's on limited hours - when the cafe's closed, the building is a bit grim. As it's in a health trust, the front door is locked which could be putting off custom, but you can press the buzzer and ask to be let in. Jacket potatoes, people - the kings of lunch! 👑 It's a shame people aren't coming in - so close to the college, you would think it would be really busy.

We just called here for the first time for lunch in our dinner break. It does not look open but it is. What a lovely surprise! Lovely warm, spotlessly clean and welcoming cafe. There is a limited menu at the moment but there are gorgeous freshly cooked jacket potatoes with lovely fillings and yummy fresh toasties and a wide variety of drinks and snacks. The young man serving is very friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble for him. Really enjoyed my lunch for the first time in ages and we will be back. Will be highly recommending too.
