The most gorgeous cafe right on the river! I’ve been there sooo many times and every time the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff are brilliant with gluten free too - lots of choice and super tasty! In fact, I went for afternoon tea and they produced an ENTIRELY gluten free platter, of which everything was home made! Absolutely love it here, thanks so much! Xx

My favourite place in Newbury to have a relaxing cup of tea by the canal. Particularly if the sun is out. Breakfast is fabulous too. Everything cooked fresh to order. Lovely staff too. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Lovely place by the canal, with picturesque views and aesthetic interior. The tea sevice is delicious and well worth it. Sweet, but sometimes you want that! Makes a good chai too.

Lovely little cafe overlooking the canal. Food was nice - savory dishes were a nice size and tasty. Cakes were nice looking, but sadly a few were a bit dry. Service was very good, very friendly staff. Would happily return, and look forward to it. Paid car park right next door.

I always love local small coffe shops rather than big chain brands. We found this coffee shop on the way home in a small sweet street. The staff was friendly and kind, prices are normal. We came from London so we found it cheap to be honest. I had their scones because they make them in the shop. It was very fresh and tasty. They have a good selection of cakes and pastry. Good coffe too. Loved it!

Skip the high st coffee chains and give your money to this local independent cafe. Owner James and his staff are lovely, snacks, cakes and food is freshly cooked on site (try their scones and baked potatoes!), at great prices. A classic cafe and tea room. Love this place.

Went to this cafe this morning to try their vegan breakfast and was not disappointed!! We went for the small breakfast with tea and it wuz all yummy!! Staff are so friendly and it's great to find a local cafe that has such a big range of vegan options!! (They also do cakes and milkshakes and much more so check them out if you're vegan!!) Will definitely return!!

A top notch independent cafe tucked off Northbrook Street. Fresh cooked food, yummy cakes and friendly welcoming staff. Don't go to the chain coffee shops, visit here

I usually buy a caramel latte with oat milk from chaicoffee. It’s really tasty and good quality coffee. Staff is polite and the atmosphere is lovely. A little pricy but you get a decent amount of coffee.

First visit to Chaii Coffee, nice independent coffee shop. It was a quiet morning but good service from friendly staff. Super to have an interesting 'street food' menu that will need further investigation.

Great coffee place. Very cosy with comfortable seating and very stylish deco. And if you feel golden, gold cappuccino on menu just under £9 (in Mayfair it would cost you 3x more)

We came here on a cloudy Saturday morning. We had been out walking and fancied a hot drink. We were warmly greeted by the friendly and professional staff. We sat outside in a beautiful courtyard and enjoyed a delicious coffee and tea. It was beautiful surroundings and reminded us of happy french holidays memories. The owner was really welcoming and we look forward to coming again to sample delicious french food. What a lovely find in a beautiful village.

Been looking for an authentic french creperie ever since moving to england and finally found this one, and it did not disappoint! Really nice choice of authentic french recipes of both galletes and crepes.

Lovely little brunch. We had the croque monsieur and a savoyarde galette with a cappucino. We will 100% be back. What a little gem of a place.

What a wonderful gem of a cafe! Right at the top of Butser Hill, it's popular with hikers, cyclists, and dog walkers, and of course people who want to drive up and use the large car park to do some walking and take in the amazing 360 degree views from the top. The cafe is currently open thur to sun 9am - 4pm, and serves hot and cold drinks, ice creams cakes, all day breakfast, pastries, sandwiches, burgers, and probably many more things too! There are proper toilets available, and there are even dog treats too! The staff are very friendly and it's a great place for a well-earned refreshment. There are lots of picnic tables and benches spread out. I went on a dry, sunny, clear day, I'm not sure it would be as much fun on a rainy day!

We love this little café! We walk up the hill from QE Park with our dog regularly and the views from the top are spectacular. The café is a wonderful reward when you get to the top! Friendly staff, very generous sausage baps. A surprisingly good range of food and snacks for such a remote location. Free doggy biscuits and water bowls available. We just love coming here for a treat.

Really great place for walk, coffee, lunch and views! My dog loves and you can walk to QE Park as well. Stunning views around as its such a high point on South Downs.

Dog friendly! Beautiful walk up and around Butser hill and the roundhouse is open Thursday to Sunday for hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, ice- creams, shakes, snacks, cakes, toasties and breakfast rolls. The best coffee! Dogs can have a puppachino for £1 and there's a water bowl. A friendly, family run business and a welcome pit stop on our walks :) the toilet is open until around 4pm and there are picnic benches. There are several routes up Butser hill from various locations but if you fancy just a walk around the top and the views, there is a road that goes up there from the A3, just past the Hampshire hog but be aware that there are pedestrians, horses and cyclists that use the same road. There is car park with a path that leads to the roundhouse. The car park isn't free but you can pay by card when you leave and it's only a short walk from there to the top.

I read the reviews and was unsure about going here! It was actually very good for a cafe on an industrial estate. Food pre-packaged so heated as requested. The staff welcoming and keen to please did excellent drinks and heated food to order no problem. The industrial decor is fitting for the location. Lots of seating options inside and out. The gallery had a pay to enter display and upstairs several artist's displays are free and suit varied tastes. Works are for sale and on commission too. Good to know and go again...

Dropped in for a quick breakfast bap and coffee before a long journey. Very tasty sausages and bap together with homemade tomato sauce which was delicious!! Lovely cup of coffee too. The cost was very reasonable. Made for a great treat and we shall definitely be visiting again.

The service is great, the cafe itself feels very warm and cosy. The food is also delicious, but not exactly as expected in terms of size and description. One day my full English felt like it was 75% baked beans as an example.

A small village cafe offering a range of well priced food! I was attracted by the all day breakfast , but in the end opted for scrambled eggs on toast (with extra bacon!) Service was friendly and food arrived promptly, freshly cooked! Drinks were well priced.

Very good coffee shop. Great choice of roast. Had an interesting and fruitful chat with the Barnstaple regarding the UK only, pitiful, flat white cup size. Reason is that I am now Australian and spoiled for choice for great coffee. End result, decent sized cup. Lovely coffee. I'll be back next time I visit the UK.

Possibly the best chips I've had in a very long time, very reasonably priced too. Everything is freshly cooked and made to order. Would very much recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat on the way somewhere.
