We dropped in to the Black Spot Pizza on an evening it wasn't scheduled to be open just before Xmas, and were warmly welcomed by the owner, Ian. Initial misgivings about lack of atmosphere proved entirely unfounded as we had the benefit of Ian to ourselves, and were able to watch as he expertly mixed our cocktails. VERY expertly - he is an award winner! Ian then baked our pizzas from a menu which also included a wide range of Vegan and Vegetarian choices and fascinated us with the extent and depth of knowledge of all aspects of his eating and drinking repertoire. Diana pronounced hers "the best pizza she'd ever eaten" and moved on to red wine - again with Ian's expert advice - while I had two more cocktails! We can recommend the Black Spot most highly, and also Ian's personal contribution to the evening which was just the right balance of friendliness and expertise. Some of the best service I've ever encountered, our host had a great sense of humour. The pizzas were delicious and there is an extensive range of cocktails that range from the crazy to the refined. Having lived relatively locally for years had never visited but it’s right up there with the best pizza locally. Great selection of toppings and drink selection is great. Book ahead if you want to get in at the weekend as they’ll run out of dough it’s that good!!
Fantastic pizza, fresh and great ingredients lovely service too and definitely try a cocktail! They are all great as the owner is an expert and has won awards!
The BEST pizza in Manchester, by a mile. The dough is incredible - so light with a rich, deep flavour. The toppings are all amazing and top quality. My absolute favourite is the spiced lamb. It's genuinely not what I'd usually go for but now I can't order anything else. It's like if Dishoom and the best pizza place had a love child. Insane.
