We came here to get out of the city centre during peak christmas shopping hours. The walk out of the town centre was well worth it. Staff were welcoming and took time to explain the different Ethiopian dishes to us. Portions are huge and everything was absolutely delicious. Ethiopian food has a very distinct spice profile - with cardamom and ginger widely used, spiced but not spicy. Everything was served on huge injera pancakes, which you use to scoop up the different sauces. After the meal we were treated to traditional coffee which was like rocket fuel! It kept us going through the last of our christmas shopping. A real hidden gem.
I discovered Ethiopian cuisine suddenly when I was browsing restaurants where to go. And I was not mistaken with my choice. The food is very healthy, deliciously cooked, and there is quite a lot of it. If you are tired of trying, I advise you to come here and try this food. There is also vegetarian food. Excellent service, the only thing missing was quiet Ethiopian music.
Great authentic Ethiopian food, really friendly and attentive service and the atmosphere was great. We can’t wait to come back!!!
I'm a huge fan of Ethiopian food, been to many restaurants and this restaurant offers probably the best quality I've had in the Manchester area. Injera #1 in my life. Brown, sour, with complex taste. Absolutely incredible. Meat and veg dishes were very tasty, not oily and although I'd rather have them a bit more spicy I'm aware it's a personal preference. If you like East African food you must come to Aurora. Establishments in the town are not even close to their level.
The owners are incredibly nice and the food is amazing. Really good quality, tasty and value for money ❤️ I will come back many times for lunch or coffee
