Thicket is a wedding venue like no other – a stunningly beautiful location that also feels like home. It provided the most magical backdrop for our weekend celebration, having exclusive use of the venue for the entire weekend allowed us the time to create memories with our loved ones that we will cherish forever. Having separate spaces to host our guests on the Friday vs the wedding day on the Saturday was brilliant. Every single guest felt truly welcomed, with many commenting on how blown away they were by the venue. Becca and the whole team at Thicket are absolute superstars. Personable, creative and joyous - they ensured everything ran seamlessly behind the scenes. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to detail was second to none. From the planning process - where Becca was always on hand to guide us and answer questions - to the day itself, everything was utterly flawless. As our wedding fell on the 30th Nov / 1st Dec weekend, we also got to experience the added magic of Thicket's Christmas decorations. They were beautiful and added an extra layer of sparkle and magic. Each of the bedrooms felt luxurious - like they belong in a boutique hotel! Each has its own personality and quirks, which made assigning them to our guests a fun task. We cannot recommend Thicket Priory highly enough. The care, creativity, and passion of the team made our wedding weekend truly unforgettable. We could not have dreamed of a better venue than Thicket Priory. As soon as we took the tour, we struggled to imagine getting married anywhere else. The building and the grounds are so stunning – they strike the perfect balance between grandiose beauty and home comforts. However, we have to say that it was all the little magical details that really made it for us. We were already thinking about theming the wedding around the fantasy books that we both love but seeing what Thicket had to offer really solidified this idea. We drove home from that viewing buzzing with excitement. From the moment we committed, we were never disappointed. Many other reviews have pointed out that what really makes the difference at this venue is the way you are treated throughout the process and how helpful and organised all the staff are. This was definitely our experience as well. Anna was superb throughout and made us feel like we were in safe hands at all times. Planning a wedding can be very stressful so it was wonderful to have someone so calming on hand and to be reassured that all the ‘boring’ details were being dealt with and that we could concentrate on whatever elements we were most enthusiastic about. She also gave us quite a few ideas that we incorporated into the weekend, such as the wedding newspaper which we really enjoyed writing and went down a treat with guests. The weekend itself went totally smoothly. We picked several vendors from the friends of Thicket list and they all did a great job. A lot of guests commented on the venue staff in particular and how it really did feel like fairies were magically sorting everything around us without ever being seen. Everyone felt relaxed and well-cared for. Minor issues like swapping of rooms or getting an extra glass of alcohol-free prosecco for a bridesmaid were dealt with easily and with minimal fuss. Many people told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and that they wanted to steal the venue for themselves! We are very grateful to Anna, Lil and the rest of the team for the care and effort they put into our big day. We’d like to thank Anna most of all for her kindness and compassion. It felt like talking to an old friend in the planning meetings. We really appreciated that she was totally unphased by organising a wedding for two brides or by Alyssa’s transition, which had barely started before we took our tour of the venue. From the moment we introduced ourselves, Anna confidently walked us through everything without any awkwardness or struggling to adapt the tour to the needs of two brides, which was not the case at other venues we visited. It really was a dream to find a venue where we could focus on making our wedding all about joy and happiness without feeling like we were a problem to work around. 5 stars could never be enough for Thicket Priory! We had the pleasure of getting married here on the 21st of December 2024 and couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect day. From the moment we walked into Thicket Priory and met the incredible Anna, we felt right at home. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the attention to detail is truly like nowhere else around. Our ceremony was in the onsite chapel, which is just breathtaking and such a special, intimate space. Our wedding breakfast and evening reception was then held in the stunning ballroom, filled with so much natural light, it really is the perfect space for a wedding. The rooms all have a unique character and every single room is just beautiful, our guests absolutely loved them and with 35 rooms onsite, it meant almost all our guests could stay over which was so important to us. Aside from all the above, what makes Thicket Priory SO special is the incredible team behind it. Anna, our wedding coordinator was just unbelievable, she made every meeting feel like we were catching up with a friend and made the whole process an absolute joy and completely stress free. She truly goes above and beyond for her couples and we could not have felt in safer hands, all our guests also commented on how amazing she was! She is just a dream. Wow! What can I say about the team at Wedding Fayres Yorkshire? I don't actually see these people as business associates but more of friends. All of the suppliers are like a little family and it's all due to how fantastic WFY are. The wedding fayres are brilliant, really well organised, marketed well so they get the numbers in and fabulous quality of suppliers. The fayres run smoothly from the moment you arrive there's usually a member of the team there to help you with your stuff (mainly for the diva's) so I look after myself. They know exactly where you are exhibiting and are always on hand from the start of the day until the finish. From the second you hear Stevie Wonder play you know you're in for a good day. Wedding Fayres Yorkshire go much further than weddings. They always are there to advise and help all their customers. I really enjoy the Grant and Allan weekly catch up meeting on Facebook live, which just gives an update of everything that's happening, it's great to always be involved. During the lockdown they have also been doing a weekly Friday night's quiz which is brilliant! It's amazing support for those wedding industry professionals who need it during hard times. Working with Suzy was an absolute dream. We planned our destination wedding styling with her from Bermuda. We spoke with her on the phone with a four hour time difference which meant early morning long distance calls to late night conversations squeezing in every detail. Suzy did a wonderful job at bringing our Pinterest board to life. The details and decor were phenomenal and her outstanding communication skills eased every worry that we might have had when planning from afar. She made fantastic recommendations for other suppliers and everything ran smoothly on the day thanks to her. Suzy is personable, easy to talk to and on the big day got to work transforming the space quickly like a magical wizard. Suzy is truly a professional and made sure that the vision we had was executed. As creatives we had high expectations and she far exceeded them. We are so grateful for her hard work and for making our day run smoothly. We will forever cherish her great smile and tenacious attitude towards getting the job done! Suzy was our day-of-coordinator and was absolutely amazing. Can't state enough the amount of value she delivered to our wedding, we were so so glad we booked her! All our guests and other suppliers agreed she was brilliant too. We had a DIY marquee wedding that required lots of parts coming together, and some last minute changes due to weather. Not only did Suzy manage things running smoothly on the day, but our calls in the run up to ensure everything had been planned out were really useful, as well as communication with suppliers the week before. As a bride I was able to 100% relax on my wedding morning knowing that no matter what came up, Suzy would have it sorted. The way this made me feel my wedding morning, wedding day and in the week running up, is something that I didn't know money could buy and I am so grateful! Simply I can't recommend Suzy enough, I think it's essential to have a coordinator for this type of wedding, and Suzy delivers the absolute top standard of this, plus you know she's looking at it with a stylist's eye! We booked Suzy as our venue stylist and we are so glad we did! Suzy is amazingly talented at what she does and managed to transform our somewhat vague ideas into a cohesive and beautiful vision for our venue. Suzy’s passion for her craft is plentiful and I came off every call with her feeling confident and excited for what she was going to create. I was able to completely relax on my wedding morning knowing the venue would look beautiful on my arrival. This in itself was priceless, but on the more practical side of things it was also such a cost and time effective decision as there was no need to source and purchase all our own props for our wedding day. It was also a far more sustainable way to style our wedding as we weren't left with boxes and boxes of wasted items at the end. Where do I even begin? I’d been to a number of weddings where the couple had to set up in the lead up and take it all back down again once the day was done. We just knew that isn’t what I wanted to be doing. We needed calm, no stress and worrying about storage and not to mention the crackers prices for individual purchases of items, storing before the day and where the heck do we put it once the day is over? I saw Suzy’s work on Instagram and immediately knew we would hit it off and quite honestly you were our saving grace in the lead up and the day. It was so bloomin’ lovely to have the decor a secret and to hand over the reigns to someone who knows what they’re doing. We got to see the final product when celebrating and so we’re as awe struck as our guests. We hadn’t a clue how much work goes into planning a wedding and we didn’t even need to make it look nice. Nice doesn’t even cut how beautiful Suzy made our venue; every single person told us how gorgeous it was and were all relieved the next morning when Suzy turned up to take it all down. I emailed numerous times for advice and booked our band as Suzy recommended them; they were amazing and once again you were bang on the money! Suzy; you are worth every penny and more because you were invaluable. Do yourselves a favour and book the stylist package at the very minimum because it makes your venue go from good to fantastic. Not only that but it takes some much needed pressure from your shoulders. We wanted to have everything look amazing but couldn’t quite be bothered to do DIY. Going to ikea the week of the wedding was my worst nightmare so do yourselves a solid and book Suzy!! Suzy, thank you again for everything. Not only is your work beautiful but so are you!

I run a Wedding floristry business and have recently relocated up to North Yorkshire (from South Yorkshire) as a result of this I have enquired with The UK Wedding Event about attending their Wedding Fairs to reach new clients. I attended my first one yesterday (26/3/24) and had a really positive experience. We had the wedding venue lighting add some festoon lights into our venue which were absolutely perfect for our special day. We requested some outside festoons but the venue had already installed these so wedding venue lighting refunded us the amount quickly and without question. We cannot thank them enough for their work and the lighting did really make our day that more special.

We hired the mirror photo booth and dancefloor for a Xmas party. The team were professional from start to finish and nothing was too much for them. We couldn’t have asked for a lovelier set of tables and chairs then loaned to us by Typical Type for our pub wedding in September. They really complimented and elevated the setting and Barry and his team were just the friendliest and most helpful folks we could have asked for. Typical type aka Kerri and Barry supplied our wedding in October at east Riddlesden hall. Kerri and Barry had fantastic communication from start to finish and offered their help and support if needed. The cost was very reasonable and Barry was kind enough to give us some discount as they were supplying a wedding the day before at the same venue. Thank you for this. We hired the red neon sign let’s be wild together this was a great backdrop for photos, the pallet seating was perfect for our evening guests and the lighting outside was just beautiful. We hired the heart festoon fence and twinkle lights for the top of the barn and in the large tree outside the barn. It all looked magical at night and we were lucky enough to have a warm October evening to enjoy the lights. I will definitely be using typical type again in the future and would strongly recommend them if your planning a wedding they are amazing. Thank you for making our day extra special.

Typical Type provided their beautiful Edison boards and hoop, festoon lighting and gorgeous crossback chairs for our wedding. From start to finish, Barry was quick to respond to emails and a pleasure to work with, even when we had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid. All of the lighting elements added to the atmosphere and really made the barn where we got married extra special. Absolutely fantastic location, price, management team and food! My husband and I got married here in May and we could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. From the very beginning of our wedding journey we were blown away with the location and rustic feel to the building. We were prepared for a unrealistic quote for what we wanted on our day. This was absolutely not the case. If anything we were surprised at everything that was included in the package, with comparison to the copious wedding venues we had visited, where everything was an add on at a extra expense. We met various members of the team during the build up to the day and all staff were so passionate and invested in our day. Lucy who coordinated our day was amazing. A women definitely born for the job. The day from start to finish was stress free. So many of our wedding guests commented on how well organised the day was and how nicely it flowed from one part to the other. Lucy had thought of everything and was always one step ahead. The food was so delicious. My brother is a head chef in Wales and was so impressed with the food! We cannot thank The Venue enough for providing the best possible experience for our special day. We would highly recommend it to any future couple.

The Venue Bowers Mill was the only wedding venue we actually went to see and we knew straight away that it was the right one for us and looking back we couldn't have made a better choice! All of our guests loved the space and we had so many compliments on both the staff and the food! The team made sure that our day was perfect, even managing to make a last minute change to the timings to accommodate a surprise singing waiter. If you get Lucy as your coordinator you have struck gold! She couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful, nothing was too much trouble and she helped to take all of the stress away from planning right through to the day itself.
