Reviews
It's really very interesting to visit this place in the morning at about 8 am because of parking space and less crowded. There is enough place for food and drinks. Toilets are there. Parking for 4 hours is 10 pounds and one day, 20 pounds. Actually, it's recommended for all ages. Get chilled for one day would be my recommendation. It is very easy to drive there.
Durdle Door is an absolutely stunning seaside destination. The crystal-clear waters are simply breathtaking, making it perfect for a refreshing swim or just soaking in the beauty of nature. The beach is rocky rather than sandy, which adds to its unique charm, but be sure to wear appropriate footwear for comfort.
Reaching the beach requires a descent down a hill, which takes about 10 minutes, but trust me, the journey is worth it. Once you arrive, you'll find an incredible spot where you can easily spend the whole day enjoying the sun, the sea, and the picturesque views.
Parking is also a breeze, making it convenient to access this hidden gem. Overall, Durdle Door offers a memorable experience.
Great place to see some amazing Geology / Physical geography.
About 145 steps , not suitable for buggies ….
Beach is from fine to course gravel can be awkward to walk on if you have mobility issues
Huge car park at the top , though if you are prepared to walk a bit there are other places to park to avoid the costs.
The public toilets were clean , though the language coming out of the cleaner who was only talking to himself .. loudly .. was more suited to a Pirates ship, than a very public place with elderly and children about .
Also apparently he doesn’t like working with Monkeys , so perhaps this is just a sideline, and he normally works at a circus .. or in the rigging of the aforementioned Pirate ship.
Nice to see he has settled down to a landlubber’s job though after years at sea.. though sadly still working with monkeys , apparently.
So a great place to visit !
Beautiful beach, great scenery, life sapping walk... so beware if with elderly/ infirm/unfit people and I'd recommend the proper carpark, not Lulworth Cove, as it's a proper trek from there over Lulworth Steps, although the return journey is easier. And it is worth it as it's a very picturesque place.
Durdle Door Beach is absolutely breathtaking! The iconic limestone arch is a must-see, and the views along the Jurassic Coast are stunning. The water is crystal clear, though a bit cold, and the pebble beach adds a unique touch. The hike down to the beach is steep, but the effort is worth it for the incredible scenery.
It can get crowded, especially during the summer, so arriving early is a good idea. Also, the facilities are limited, so make sure to bring your own supplies. Parking is available but fills up fast. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for nature lovers and photographers!
