Sunday lunch, awesome. This was by far the best roast I’ve had. And the puddings are to die for. Friendly and cheerful staff, a truly memorable meal.

This is my favourite pub! Very English and the food is traditional. High-quality produce and very well cooked! Lots of flavours.. very nice surroundings. Clean.. staff are very good!

Myself and my partner were travelling for a Rally and wanted to go up night before. I rang here and they said staying over in Motorhome wasn't a problem as long as we had a meal and drinks which wasn't a problem for us. Rang on the way on Thursday 29/05/2025 to confirm and was told maybe busy due to Classic car show which is held there on Thursday nights (but do ring to confirm this). But we were still welcome. The place as drove in was amazing with big lake view. We parked up and went in and was greeted by friendly, welcoming lovely staff and owners. James and his team really helpful and friendly. We bought drinks which was reasonably priced. We had the carvery which was absolutely amazing and so tasty and hot definitely worth the money. The place is so clean and tidy. The whole building inside and outside is lovely to look at. There is plenty of seating inside and outside with garden seating area overlooking the lake. Plenty of parking. The walk around the lake was nice and seeing all the ducks and Canadian geese. There is fishing allowed and rules which are in view. We are hoping to stop here again in few weeks. So if travelling and want to stop for night give them a ring. Cannot fault this place. Definitely going again and recommend. Reading the history of the building is interesting. Nice village to travel through. We woke to amazing view and so quiet in the night.. They also cater for various functions..

Came here to photograph a 50th birthday party, some of the staff were really helpful and polite. Would like to come back and eat here with my wife one day. Food was a buffet and wow that just kept coming and coming, literally a constant flow of bowls being filled up. My client had a great time, I would definitely recommend.

Okay.. so my family went to Derby on a day out and we just stumbled across this restaurant online when we searched for grills... I can confidently say they serve the best biryani I have ever had. The signature grill was fantastic. Flavourful and delicious. You can tell the food was freshly made. Absolutely fantastic customer service by Ash that attended to us. Definitely coming back here.

The food is definitely top notch with a good selection. Tried the chicken tikka wrap and a few other chicken dishes which were great. Also tried the chilli chips which were delicious. The restaurant is well decorated and the ambience is also nice which is complimented by the open kitchen. Free parking available on site but could get filled up on busy days.

Ate here recent as part of birthday celebrations. Looks like a converted pub as it has a large carpark and very spacious open area for eating. Cuisine is mainly North Indian (Punjabi) - which is good! We ordered four meals and one was incorrect - not sure whose fault it was as staff member did read it back to us - so I can’t fault them. Overall food was good and tasty.

Spur of the moment decision to dine to avoid the evening rush hour traffic on a Monday. Very modern decor and clean (though didn't use the loo). Good selection of drinks at prices cheaper than what you'd find at the pub. Decent variety on the menu, the portions are a good size (the photo is a starter), very reasonable prices and quick service. Only slight niggle, no background music. But all in all, would recommend.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch for my grandparents anniversary. Good and service were very excellent! We had to ask how they cooked the cauliflower as it was very nicely done.

We came off the motorway and stopped here for lunch, and it was ace. Really delicious fillet of beef. My wife's venison suet pudding looked even nicer! Was really impressed with the service and welcome.

I've driven by a few times before and it's always looked busy. Popped in today without booking, there wasn't a table available in the restaurant, but we're welcome to sit in the bar area or garden. I'd advise booking if you knew you were going! Food was amazing, can't rate it highly enough. Very reasonably priced too for saying the quality of it all. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

As went for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and how quick it was to get served. Extra thick toast.

Really like it here. Been a lot of times now. Nice range of vegan options. Would recommend the vegan coronation chickpea jacket potato. Vegan flapjack available. Vegan oat milk is available with tea. Staff knowledgeable about whether food is ok for vegans. Extremely clean, very hygienic. Beautiful homemade food. Seating is very comfortable, plenty of it, not too close together, special area for dogs inside, outside seating available. Nice touch - noticed this summer that they had a sand playpit for kids in seating area. Ample parking. We did have an issue with food not coming out one of the times but when we spoke to staff about this they quickly resolved issue, food provided, money returned from bill and even 2 tokens for a free cup of tea. I was really impressed by this, you can't be 100% all the time but it's how you deal with issues when they do happen. Will continue to go there. 😊

Staff good room (Family) was ok. Well decorated however the TV fitting looked poor, the divan base was on show and was tatty. Bathroom was ok, the shower was good however the plug hole must have been blocked as the water took an age to drain.

Convenient for a stay after visiting Alton Towers. Big comfy room, lots of choice for breakfast. Had evening meal in pub and food was good.

My food and drink was great and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. the Wi-Fi was good too.

Lovely room and pretty location. Good food and nice staff. Big tarmac car park ideal for motorcycles. Pretty area. Garden centre with cafe/restaurant nearby and fuel station but otherwise a very quiet little village.

Friendly pub restaurant connected to the B&B. Stopped by after a walk near Foremark Reservoir, lovely relaxed outdoor seating area and a good menu to chose from

Only visited and had a few drinks before we could check into our glamping accommodation. There was a nice atmosphere and the staff seemed pleasant, especially a man in a blue shirt who couldn't do enough to help. We didn't eat hear but the food coming from the kitchen looked really nice.

I live in the United States and stayed here 5 days while on a work assignment. I had a great experience from the beautiful room, friendly and professional staff and great food this inn will be my first preference when I return to the area. Also, It’s located in a nice area with walking distance to a park, other pubs and a supermarket.

I wouldn't give 5 stars since the portions are generally smaller and overpriced for the size and quality. At the menus you cannot see how the meal looks because there is no pictures of it. The hamburger buns were not fresh, and the coleslaw salad was served in a very small bowl so it was not enough to eat it with the hamburger.. All the tables upstairs wobble, so be careful not to spill your drink. Also, the two entrances can be confusing if it's your first time there. The service was fast, though, and the staff were really friendly. I can recommend it for going out for drinks with friends, since the service is very good and the downstairs area looks really cosy and nice.

Went to Harpur's for a family meal and had a really good experience. We booked and requested a quiet area inside as we have a dog, and that's exactly what we had reserved for us, which was perfect. Service was top-notch, and the food was excellent and well presented.

Sat outside in the summertime but never eaten inside the pub . Booked on line and got a 5 till 7 slot . Staff was very friendly plus helpful and the service after was very good. The food was amazing and very tasty. Will definitely go back in the future

Stayed at this delightful pub for a night. Had a beautiful family room which has been converted from the original stables. They have a fantastic river garden to while the afternoon away with a glass of wine and a book. A group of 8 of us had dinner in the evening. Everyone agreed it was delicious and the service was great. Breakfast is well worth a stop as well. Delicious yoghurt, berries and honey followed by Avocado, poached egg and bacon on toast. Was served by the delightful Shy who couldn't have been friendlier and knowledgeable. Will definitely return.

We went as a family of three to eat out due to the nice weather, the pub was extremely busy - not surprisingly due to the heat, however lots of clear outside tables available. We ordered from the menu food arrived quickly and very good quality. Unfortunate as you can order drinks on the app and only two bar staff on, at bar service was very slow and at times it could look like you were being ignored, even if that was not the case, imagine normally more staff would have been on shift but this was unexpectedly busy due to weather.

Haven't been for years and glad we pre-booked. The staff was very friendly plus helpful and polite. If you're a steak person this is the place for you. The only problem we could find was the table we was given would not sit four comfortably as my son had the " titanic steak " which took most of the table lol . Will definitely go back

I chose the minty lamb chops, I found them excellent I asked for them well done how I like them. The other members of the party had chicken, one with Stilton sauce the other with white wine and mushroom sauce and the final member having the all day breakfast. Everything came out together and was hot.
