The best pub in all the Peak District Honestly, the food is so good, and the portions massive. Really recommend it It took a minute for the dinner to come, but boy it was worth it, they were taking good care of the food. We had chicken cordon bleu and a plate of a homemade pork sausage with haggies that I don’t remember the name of. Both were amazing. The chicken comes with a yummy mushroom sauce with perfectly cooked vegetables, not overdone or too raw. The inside of the chicken was a delight The homemade sausage was just something special and the gravy is one of the best we had in a long time Both dishes came with a portion of mashed potatoes mixed with mustard seeds that was so special (and so much of it) The atmosphere is really friendly, as the staff. They also have an interesting variety of beers, not the typical ones but interesting and nice alternatives The only bad part is that we finished so full that could not try a dessert

Booked in for Christmas day lunch. Jen was quick at responding to emails when booking and answered all my questions about gluten-free options. On arrival, the atmosphere was lovely and Chistmassy, and we were directed to our table after ordering drinks at the bar. Starters were lovely, plenty of flavour, main courses were a bit delayed coming out but they were tasty and the waiter apologised for the wait. Pudding was good too, cant beat a christmas pud!. My only complaint would be that the 'gluten free' options for the main just involved things being taken off and a very watery gravy replacing the usual one. So two of us paid the same price for a gluten-free main that was missing the stuffing, pigs in blankets, and a Yorkshire pudding. Wouldn't mind if there had been more veg, roasties, or additional slices of turkey as a replacement, but I felt a bit robbed when the normal main looked so good. Overall though the food was good and we had a nice time, the staff were friendly and it had a nice country pub feel

We had a lovely dinner here. We were 4 adults and 3 children and they were super accommodating and had great child friendly menu. The staff were friendly and the food was great. We were lucky they had pie night - they were great!

This is what you always hope for and seldom get when you go for a pub lunch. Really good, well cooked food by someone who knows what they're doing and cares about it. We'll definitely be coming back.

The best food of our whole holiday. The best fish pie we have ever had and home made chips. Dog friendly too. Highly recommend a visit.
