I come with my husband regularly cause we love it here brought two friends for lunch and they loved it the food atmosphere everything about it our waitress Clare was top notch very switched on and so welcoming she was lovely

Beth looked after us and couldn’t do enough and the bar tender Alfie really knows his whiskey!! Would highly recommend

For years we've passed through Hathersage and seen the George, thought it looked nice but never called in. However, today we'd made a late lunch reservation and from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were glad we went. The restaurant is well presented as are the staff. The atmosphere was nice and the staff very professional. The food and drink was also spot on. All was of a good quality and cooked to perfection. The only thing I would say is avoid sitting in line with the front door in winter if the wind is in the wrong direction, you'll get a cool blast but the temperature soon returns to comfortable.

This place is beautiful and atmosphere was welcoming. I went there for a quick dinner stop. I didn't eat much since vegan options were limited but pimms was good and service was very attentive!

Absolute amazing pub. Incredible food - one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had in my life. Jasmine served us and was v friendly, really went the extra mile - even got us custard from a local shop to have with some Bakewell tart. If you don’t go here you’re mad

Fantastic little find - staying on a local campsite, another pub on our route wasn’t dog friendly so continued onto here. Superb welcome, dog treats on the bar, beer is served well and a steak is on order. Will definitely return (probably tomorrow) A real nice pub - recommended

A very welcoming pub after 15miles walking up hill and down dale. The Bull was excellent and the beers, in particular, were well kept and local, with great food options for dinner. Rooms were a mix of of traditional and modern that were comfortable and ideal for tired walkers Breakfast was good local produce with the excellent in house bakery, including Bakewell pudding to add a treat to a walkers lunch. Really friendly and helpful staff made this a special stay, if only for one night.

The online table booking process was quick and easy. Although the pub was VERY busy, we didn't feel rushed and was given time to browse the menu over a drink. The staff were polite, helpful, and professional. It would be nice if therep were more menu choices for vegetarians, but what we ordered was delicious! Thank You

Ordered the Chicken Liver Parfait for starters with the Ballotine of confit duck for main. Greats hosts with even greater food. Possibly the best dish I have eaten out, if this was my local I would be coming here at least once a month for the confit duck. Come here for a chef with outstanding knowledge on food prep and flavours and friendly and formal staff.

Absolutely exceptional food, brilliant service and a lovely vibe. I genuinely cannot recall the last time I had food in a pub, that would grace a Michelin star table. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Just fabulous

We had a beautiful and delicious lunch. The staff was very nice and made us feel welcome. The food was creative and really really good.

After reviewing restaurants within this area, The Prince of Wales reviewed very well. We were not disappointed. There is a good selection of starters and not the general pub selection. I had risotto and my wife had pigs cheeks. Both were first class. We then had a Hand Made Beefburger each. The burgers were fantastic. One of the best burgers I have had for a long time. It was just like eating a steak sandwich. Would I go again and recommend. Definitely. If you like my reviews please follow me, as I regularly review.

Lovely place for a snack or main meal, and the cakes / desserts are divine. It includes a little museum explaining the history of the area and some great old photos. It was a little chilly inside when we visited on a cold winter's day, but still a very pleasant experience.

A big thank you to The Cupola ! This was our first visit and we weren't disappointed. There was a wide choice of authentic Italian pizza, plus many other tempting choices. We had the standard size pizza. These were generous and cooked to perfection, piping hot, tasty and were thoroughly enjoyed. The staff and service were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We had a bit of an issue with the wheelchair on the gravel surface in the carpark outside. The staff are fully aware and help was offered. The issue regarding new disabled car space signage and a paved area, is in hand. Following our experience today, we would recommend a visit.

We’ve drove past here a couple of times and yesterday decided to give it a go!! We were not disappointed!! Beautiful relaxing ambience, amazing food, excellent staff, super clean facilities and reasonably priced. Vicky was very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! There was also an information centre with the history of Stoney Middleton displayed! Will definitely be coming back!! Highly recommended!

I can’t rate this place highly enough. What fantastic staff, every single one of them. Had an excellent Sunday lunch here, great value and lovely food. My portion was so big I had to take my pudding home for later. Dog friendly and GF opinions.

An amazing carvery, Martin and his team so friendly, we hadn’t booked turned up and just had to wait for a table but we’ll worth the wait, I just can’t recommend this enough one the best carvery we have had excellent value for money.

What a gem of a place. The portions are enormous and the food is fantastic. My husband, daughter and I visited for Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend it. The café has introduced a range of COVID-19 protection measures including the usual party registration on arrival and all staff were wearing PPE. The carvery area is screened off behind perspex. One table is called up at a time to keep everyone distanced and you can choose what you want to eat from the wide carvery options available (food is plated by the staff). The puddings were as delicious as the roast dinner. The carvery is £8 for adults with reduced prices for OAPs and children. The whole meal including puddings and soft drinks cost us £33. Unbelievable value!

From the phone call I made to see if we needed to make reservations to waitresses bar staff, chef. All were very nice polite and amazing service. Food and drinks were some of the best I've had for awhile I come from catering background so I'm spoilt and don't get surprised with such a lovely place as this very often. We loved this place so much we are planning a holiday back here in the summer just so we can come here again. Very good portion sizes to the value you pay. Well worth a visit, enjoy.

Delicious food, excellent value, in a traditional pub setting. You can't ask for much more really. While the pie wasn't ready when I ordered, the lambs liver was an excellent 2nd choice. A great portion size, with 3 good sized slices of liver. Having cycled past the pub many times and seen it to be popular based on cars in the car park, I'm very happy to have found an opportunity to go. Hope to return!

Absolutely fantastic. I had the Chilli Garlic Prawns and Beef Burger, both were absolutely incredible. The pub itself is gorgeous, a very traditional pub with a very friendly cat. The hospitality is incredibly welcoming and it’s clear to see that this pub is much loved by the locals. Easily one of my favourite places to eat.

Coming to update my review. I did it in hast at first. This place was absolutely adorable. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was phenomenal, I had the venison chili and it was perfect. Extremely tender, not gamey at all. I hope on our next trip to Europe we can visit again! Still 5 stars! 😊

My wife and I dined here for the first time and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and efficient, setting a welcoming tone for the evening. The food was exceptional—beautifully presented and full of flavour. We started with the calamari and prawn salad, both of which were fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. For our mains, we enjoyed two delicious pizzas with crisp bases and generous toppings. To finish, we indulged in dessert, and the puddings did not disappoint—rich, satisfying, and the perfect end to the meal. Overall, a fantastic dining experience, and one I would gladly recommend to anyone looking for quality food and great service in a relaxed setting.

Such an amazing little Italian restaurant. Visited on the way home from Chatsworth house. Would definitely recommend. The service was great and the food lovely (especially the creamy mushrooms starter and njuda pasta). Only minor downside was it was a bit cold due to there being no wind blocker from the front door to the tables.

Ordered Shepard's Pie but the potatoes came with cheese topping which was not specified on the menu. Staff were so good and handled the situation really well. Replaced the meal very quickly no fuss and were very apologetic. Service was great. Wish I could name the barman but I didn't get his name. But you know who you are.. Thanks.

Best welcome I've ever had to a pub! The lovely young lady welcomed me with Welcome and it just took me back a bit on how great that was! Food was hand made and I mean handmade Steak Pie.... this is exactly my kind of pub, shame it's nowhere near me, other pubs could learn a bit from these guys, a modern pub but traditional values! Love it! Thanks guys and thanks for making me welcome especially you Young lady 🙂 Oh and if your watching a match or something and need a wee there is TV screens in the very clean toilet!

Popped in for a meal here while on holiday, we had vegetarian fish and chips followed by chocolate brownie and ice cream . The food was really good, staff are friendly. Pub is clean and welcoming, also dog friendly. Would recommend.

Popped in Easter Saturday after a walk to Froggatt Edge. Very welcoming bar staff, cozy atmosphere as the fire was roaring. Great menu choice, speedy service and excellent quality. Definitely recommend and would return if in the area.

Lovely place. We came here for our evening meal yesterday after a very windy walk. The food was delicious and the young waitress was so kind and patient when taking our orders. We had 4 young girls with us and they all enjoyed their food. The creme brulé was absolutely divine! I'll be back for more! Thank you.

One night stay here. Lovely place in a beautiful location, friendly staff and customers. Service was faultless, food was good and all reasonably priced. Bar was cosy with a selection of ales and lagers.

First time visit in the late afternoon 5.35 pm on Saturday. Plenty of tables were available. The service was good, the meals ordered were tasty, they were the soup, belly pork, fish pie and burger. The price of belly pork was a bit dear and only two small slices of belly pork were service. A pint of stout brock was ￡6.50.

We couldn't book at room because we had to work the next day but we still decided to travel here because of the location and it was definitely worth it. My husband had the steak and it was cooked to perfection and he said the onion rings were the best he'd ever had in his life. I had the ploughmans and it was the perfect amount of food. The pork pie was lovely. The staff were friendly and welcoming and lovely and chatty. We will definitely be coming again and hopefully booking a room next time.
