“Dinner Managed to get a last-minute table for dinner. It's so popular and booked up way in advance. Don't know why we are telling people about here as it's hard enough to get in as it is. It would be easier to get a booking at a three ⭐️⭐️⭐️Michelin restaurant. Here's why it's so popular. Chef/ Owner George Bloor was named Best Chef in Derbyshire at the young age of 21. Now, having over ten years of experience cooking in Michelin, awarded kitchens around the country. Set up his first solo venture last year. This was our second visit, and it was just as good as the first time. From start to finish, the dishes were beautifully presented with a little bit of theatre too. The staff are young and well versed on the dishes they serve to the table. It's an absolutely stunning menu that changes with the seasons.”

“Had an excellent meal last night, staff were attentive but not intrusive. Drinks are fairly priced and they have a selection of local ales. Food from the grazing menu was excellent on every front. The notables were the cote du boef which was well worth the £40 charged and the blue Monday dessert which is blue cheese and a honey & ginger pastry. Spent £200 on a meal for two, so not an every week establishment but great for a treat. Definitely would come again as menu changes regularly.”

“We had a lovely lunch here. Since they sell themselves as a steakhouse, I thought I should try their fillet steak. It was perfectly tender! Nice recommendations from the staff for the sticky chilli beef as a starter too. A very friendly lady served us.”

“Absolutely beautiful venue. The staff are amazing. They were extremely helpful, very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had to postpone an event booked there due to unforseen circumstances, which went through problem free. We will definitely be back in touch when our situation changes. Special mentions to Dana and Carol. Excellent !!!”

“New Head Chef and new menus. We booked for his second evening service. It's a set menu of 2 course £38 or 3 course £45. With lovely homemade bread and butter to start. For starters we chose the Chicken Terrine and Joe's hand dived scallops which were absolutely delishes. Mains were Cornish Cod,Brassicas,Chard,Smoked Roe. Beef loin & cheek, Celeriac, White onion. A dessert of Chocolate ,70% Valrhona Chocolate, Espresso, Clotted Cream. And a delightlighfully large plate of cheeses. The menu will change depending on what fresh local produce is delivered. The food was perfectly executed, as expected from a young talented chef such as Adam.It was great to meet him again and to see him back in action. Staff were pleasant and professional. The pub is part of Berkeley Inns, which is a small pub group with some other great venues. They are clearly aiming high with this new head chef appointment for their casual fine dining. We'll look forward to see how they develop and the word gets out. Future awards and accolades are on the horizon for sure.”
