Rob and the team have spent 14 weeks building a side extension to our house involving a new garage and a glass-roofed garden room. We are delighted with the result which is totally reflective of the architects plans and the project even came in on budget too! From beginning to end of our building project, it was a joy working with Southern Building Contractors. Every single member of the team is polite, tidy and perfectionist. They took challenges and changes in their stride - nothing was too difficult. And, to top it off, their price was very competitive too! Wouldn’t use anyone else.

Our project was particularly complex, replacing in its entirety a large roof structure with an additional storey in a contemporary style and completely reconfiguring the ground floor. Southern Contractors were recommended to us and they did not let us down. Rob and his team worked tirelessly, keeping us informed every step of the way. With a build this complicated there was always going to be unexpected challenges but nothing phases Rob. He is totally solution orientated, often thinking outside of the box and suggesting alterations that proved more practical than the original plans. His attitude is, whatever you want, he will make it happen. He’s such a positive person, responds quickly to all communication and goes above and beyond to support you though what can be a very difficult process; we’ve all seen Grand Designs! Rob’s team were totally reliable and never let us down. Southern Contractors have built us the most spectacular home and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.

Choosing a building company is a complicated process. We looked for good reputation and crucially people we would feel comfortable working with. Rob and his team fit these criteria extremely well. Rob's mantra is - avoid problems by talking things through. All large projects hit unexpected issues but we felt comfortable with the team's approach which was one of presenting us with solutions not problems.

We used Southern Contractors to renovate an old Bakehouse and create a stunning and contemporary retail space. It was an ambitious time frame but Rob and his team worked tirelessly to deliver on time and we could not be happier with the quality of work, finish and general aesthetic of the building. They faced problems, as you would expect when working in a busy High Street with limited access but every problem was dealt with immediately, in a sympathetic and professional manor.
