Love Bayleaf Gardening! The owner Judith has transformed my plain, tired garden areas into beautiful spaces full of greenery & lusciousness. She drew up detailed plans & costings with full input as to how I envisaged it looking. She delivered fully, and whilst I was very sceptical of 2 ‘stumps’ that arrived for the back garden, I’ve been rewarded by the most beautiful Dicksonia ferns! Then her team turn up regularly to weed, cutback and tidy. Great boys & girls and nothing is ever too much bother, plus they tidy up behind them.

Bayleaf have looked after the garden of our holiday home since 2012 and we are very happy with the service they provide. They are very reliable which is very important as we are not always at the property. They are always pleasant and courteous. They keep the garden looking tidy and cared for and will always carry out any task we request. We would certainly recommend them.

Working with Liam and the Lords team was so easy and pleasant, I wish I'd have gone straight to them in the first place rather than getting booked in, delayed and generally run around by other roofers! Liam was easy to communicate with, super responsive and up front about the work, costs and timings. Everything was scheduled in and communicated well by Laura. Any questions I had, they were quick to answer. When it came to the actual work, the team of roofers were fast, respectful and friendly. Led by Alex who was the nicest guy, funny and hard working, the team would arrive around 8ish and made sure they cleaned up at the end of every day to the point where it was actually cleaner than when they arrived! The got on so well with the neighbours, even entertaining the toddler next door who watched them from the window! The work was all completed faster than expected (mostly due to them bringing in extra guys who all worked well together) and to a good standard, the house and garage roofs now look perfect. Both Alex and Liam assured me that they guarantee their work and if there are any issues in the future they wouldn't hesitate to come round and sort anything out. Overall I couldn't have hoped for a better experience from Lords, thank you!

Couldn’t recommend Lords Roofing & Sons enough. We had complications along the way as structural engineering drawings were missing calculations for beams needed. Thanks to Liam and his lads for spotting this, as this would have been a very costly mistake. We are very happy with how the extension hipped roof looks. Liam and his lads have given us loads of tips and advice as this is going to be a self build / renovation project.

Lords have been fantastic once again. I called with a minor tile problem which was causing a leak and Liam managed to fit me in the next day due to a cancellation being in the local area. The job was done in quick time and we’re really happy with the outcome and professionalism of lords once again. They’ve been to our house a couple times now over the years and same for my parents. They’ve never disappointed and we’ve always been left with the same feedback. Lord’s is a really nice, friendly company and really are out to help you as much as possible. We had our original slate roof completely redone after it took some major damage in the recent winter storms. Liam had some of the team out within a day to get us watertight until the works could be started. The team working on the house were very friendly and professional seeing the job done to a high standard ensuring we were happy with the results. Very reasonably priced for a great job, would thoroughly recommended them.

Great experience getting our new garage roof installed this August. From start to finish exceeded expectations from enquiry, to quote, order process, delivery and installation. Actually restored my faith in a business actually delivering great customer service, even pre delivery calls to ensure all ok. Very happy with the job, material, installers etc and absolutely no hesitation in recommending Comptons to anyone.

Had a new garage door delivered and installed on 10/01/2025. Turned up earlier than 0800hrs, and started work promptly, Took down existing door and fitted new door by 0930hrs. Showed me how new door opened and was locked, and if I was satisfied with their work.. I was very pleased with my new door and how clean the job was. We had a really good team replacing our old dilapidated garage with a new Penta roofed Compton model, with metal roof lined so it didn't drip in cold weather. Work was carried out professinally and speedily. We are really pleased with the garage and its quality, also the price was exceptionally reasonable. Just to add that because the garage was on a raised plinth the garage has never had flooding issues, a problem for many in this area with steep down sloping driveways from the road level. What a fabulous hotel! The room/suite we had was absolutely beautiful - comfortable and spotlessly clean with an amazing view and private terrace. Everything looked brand new. The bathroom was amazing. The staff were polite and professional. The food was excellent with a great hearty breakfast. I can’t praise this place enough. Well worth the money.

This is a lovely room, set in tranquil and beautiful setting. The family that owned it were lovely and did whatever they could for us. The log fire was fantasic to sit next to as we ate a meal that competed with the 5 star buxton crescent we were at the night before. Breakfast in the morning was equally as good, the chef made me poached, scrambled and fried eggs (my request) all perfect. We felt well looked after and valued as customers. The decor/atmosphere in the pub was the only thing I thought could be improved but nothing that will prevent us from coming back again!

Had great stay here for weekday break. Very happy overall - very clean, room had wow factor. Decor nice. Bathroom was huge - separate stand alone shower and separate bath, toilet and 2 sinks. No window but left extractor fan a lot. Fridge, kettle with coffee/tea, small milk in fridge. The accommodtion is behind the White Horse pub, with uninterrupted views across Derbyshire fields. There are 2 blocks of several apartments. TV had some free apps on it but I couldn't cast our programmes on Now tv to TV (maybe I pressing wrong buttons?) There was wifi but no phone signal. Watched progs on ipad. On sunny afternoon, enjoyed relaxing tea/cakes on great balcony. Small table and some chairs & sofa /sofa chair in room with large comfortable bed. Night light by door was helpful. Felt safe here, though exterior doors were required to be unlokced. Lovely fluffy towels, with a shower&hair toiletries. On the flip side, we had to drive everywhere (some hairy turns and hills). When got opportunity, got milk, toiletries from Matlock supermarket (no corner shop like in surburbia!). For variety we went out to various places for dinner, but we ate dinner in restaurant in pub as didn't want to drive one night.. Breakfast was in the pub (short bracing walk to pub in the mornings!) (think there is room service?). Breakfast was delicious - whether cooked/uncooked. Service was great and accommodating, but a bit awkward for us as we had to ask for everything, which we personally didn't feel comfortable with. But staff were great. Thanks for great stay.

Stayed here for one night, it stood out as the rooms are separate suits with their own space and balcony. Room was very comfortable, nice firm bed. It’s a really peaceful location, all you hear is the birds. We ate in the restaurant at night, really nice food. We both had fish dishes and they were cooked to a very high standard. Breakfast again was very nice and a great end to the trip. Staff were really friendly throughout our stay, nothing felt too much trouble to ask.
