Had lunch on Tuesday. We had the mint lamb shank and steak and ale pie. Both were superb, the steak pie was not only huge but the meat was so tender and very tasty. The young lady who served us was also excellent and very helpful as my wife has a nut allergy. Very good experience all round.
A friendly and warm pub. Completely dog friendly too. Two of us had the suet pies, both of which were delicious with six different veg and enough potatoes to feed an army. Our other person had the scampi, also really nice. The syrup sponge pudding is also highly recommended.
Busy Saturday night but food was excellent, all served hot and fresh despite us being a table if 12. Girl who looked after our table was great.
Popped in for a quick drink and ended up staying for two before dinner elsewhere. Good selection of drinks, coal fire and good service. Seemed a really nice pub.
